  • @ 2:53 loool wtf

  • You are so calm and sarcastic about this, i love it :P

  • damn. when i heard newegg sent out fake ones i assumed they were working processors that weren't officially licensed. that's just a block of metal.

  • How the fuck did this happen? lol

  • The blank instruction manual makes it hilarious, why did they put that in there? Its like they just wanted to rub it in your face that you got ripped off.

  • OMFG LOL I LOLED SO HARD WHEN I SAW THE FAN THEN WHEN I SAW THE BOOK I PISSED MY SELF

  • That heatsink must work REALLY GOOD.

  • keep it. limited edition like this worth lots of money.

  • I wonder if Newegg passed on the savings they made on this "great deal."

    ;-)

  • chinese counterfit?

I doubt this is something Intel Owns atleast they would not have misspelled their own product's informations, go in look and read the information on the side of the box, bad spelling all over it.

    lol like this comment too

  • heh thats a stool! looks pretty cool indeed

  • Haha I was like shit! Poor you! I recommend amd

  • just like hitler said - what asshat in newegg's receiving department didn't notice the CPU coolers were made out of cheese?!

  • Comment removed

  • this is definitely a limited edition. keep it may be worth money someday.

  • your heatsink is more like cow nipples.. XD

  • Wow that's why i buy AMD XD

  • i wouldve kept that heatsink

  • LMFAO

  • lawl

  • Turns out it was actually a 6GHz i9 990x prototype, with intergrated quad SLI 995gtx. 25Watt at full load as well.

    u mad?

  • RICKROLED

  • So... how cool does the heat sink keep your cpu? xP that heatsink is too funny!

  • Hey look at that! You managed to at least receive the stock heatsink! lol. (sarcasm intended)

  • They have these staplers that are like... big.. and you put heavy duty staples in it and you can rip trough like 100 pages.. its pretty sweet.

  • You accidentally ordered the i7 model kit. Contains 1 x plastic cpu 1 x Post-It notes and 1 x heart sink.

  • chuck norris could spit on it for thermal paste and O.C. it to 6.3 GHZ.

  • @DisownedTOM420 u are being offensive chuck norris could oc this to 9GHz

  • unless its not Core i7 980X

  • i doubt that heatsink would cool anything.

  • LMFAO! xD and btw, nice keyboard, i have one too :)

  • Hilarious! Thanks for the laughs

  • I got a counterfeit 920, sent it back but kept the heatsink. I can now overclock to around 6.5ghz with the fan on low speeds

  • Should we expect a benchmark anytime soon?

  • Intel fails, AMD ftw. :D

  • Awesome Sidewinder is awesome :D

  • i imagine if you put that in your motherboard it would create some kind of shortage, and mess up your cpu socket

  • LMAO AT SUPRESSORS COMMENT

  • So much information...

  • intel core i7-920 paperweight

  • Snowman's penis...

  • is it carved out of soap?

  • that must have been one hell of a stapler LMAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • "I saw it had no pins,n then I was like... no, no I'm not going to install that, I actually don't want to have anything to do with that" LMAAAAAAAAAAOOOO THIS GUY IS HILARIOUS

  • Where can I buy that heatsink? :o

  • Did you get to keep the heatsink?

  • the sarcasm with wich you ve been talking about the documentation made me laugh!

  • hey man, can you overclock that shit to 5ghz? i bet with that amazing cooler you can...trust me :)

  • but does it run crysis?

  • can we get closed captioning? i cant hear

  • Greatest Prank in Computer History LoL!

  • LOL! I love the user manual!

  • that heat sink looks like a bar of soap with a fan sticker on it... but in all seriousness .. glad u can share with us and had a good sense of humor about it...

  • a snowmans penis........

i'm not sure if i should LOL or not

  • WTF? fan sticker on a piece of plastic AHAHAHA

  • ROFL at the part concerning public_stunt. I almost freaking died laughing... "uhh.... you know... not to stick this in your computer." rofl

  • Wow dude, thanks for the - heads up - I never would've imagine that such a big company would do that. By the way, don't over-clock that, over-hand-it to UPS, LOL

  • Fack just ordered a new i7 920 off tiger-direct (no tax+free shipping) good video!

  • @oafaloaf the 920 is not that good of a processor the Intel i7 870 is more powerful than the 920

  • i dont see how newegg called this a demo unit.. its not like intel developers could test it out or somethin

  • @bvestationfan It's what the supplier told them...a supplier they dropped right away.

  • LOL

  • i got ur g500 mouse man! and a g15 keyboard but i think urs is different

  • y would they do this???

  • fail..

  • That heatsink alone should make someone wonder, i mean there is no hold at the bottom for goodness sake.

  • you should try over clocking the box...lol......still going for newegg. 8 years and only that..wow

  • lmfaoo i like how he says "which actually is very informative" lmao your too funny

  • This is why I went AMD lol

  • @TDwpR0cks Heh. This is why I'm never going to Intel.

  • @arcadefirerocks thats why youl always be behind on tech =)

  • @Intel1502 LOL Trust me, if I had the money I would switch to Intel. Not to say AMD is boring, they acctually do pretty good, but I agree that when it comes to games, AMD eats Intel's dust.

  • What keyboard do you have there?

  • They seemed to have spent more on that super duty stapler than the false heatsink and boxing for your processor...how in the hell could they have thought this would work?

  • What is that awesome heatsink made of?

  • @doctorqwerty stale marshmallows

  • haha the cooler looks like a roll of masking tape with a picture of a fan on it lol

  • where these demonstration componenets or did somebody break in and steal the real deal and put in the fake ones

  • this level of fraud is AMAZING to me. I have never seen anything like this involving my experience in computers in 20 years. HOLY cow my jaw dropped lol I love that bullcrap fan lol that's classic

  • Hahaha, so its just plastic? You can use the instructions to make a flipbook. .-. glad to hear you got the refund.

  • HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!! wow

  • my motherboard had a missing retention ring

  • LOL That heatsink looks like its made of candle wax!

  • Yes overclock with the plastic heap.

  • dude, no joke, you are hilarious

  • Did you get an RMA or refund? Are you going to buy from NewEgg again?

  • @uzaiyaro I got a refund and used the money to buy an i7 930 instead, I got the i7 930 from newegg so yes I will be purchasing from newegg again. I got my money back within a week and was able to get my processor the next day. Everyone makes a mistake and since I've been buying from newegg (8 years now) they have never gotten anything wrong besides this, its a great company.

  • @Sm0kaCola worked out good b/c that 930 oc nice at aleast for me yeah newegg is the best

  • @uzaiyaro It wasn't newegg's fault...they got these fakes from their suppliers...it's not like they open the packages.

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL YOU GOT JUKED SON

  • @Supressors I sent it back and got a full refund?

  • @Sm0kaCola this video was halarious i remember hearing about this. Seeing that fake heatsink i rofled.

  • @blakelocati By far the most creative insult every, I love you.

  • LOL staples of the GAWDS!

  • no no no it will be like a snowman's vag!

  • looks like your part of the whopping 1 percent of the millions of satiafied costomers that got done wrong if it dont have pins it wont work but fuckit try and install it

  • this is so funny i almost shit myself@@@@@ awesum heatsink man ima get 1!!!

  • Better put this on your Motherboard. oh and make sure to put the Heat sink on correctly. Just fire that son of a bitch up and your good.

  • DUDE

    that heatsink..

    is amazing.

    O.O

  • @Audiocrazed looks like a freakin heatsink with a condom

  • newegg licks balls

  • i bet that heatsink can cool a 4ghz 980x down to 10C

  • this is the weirdest heatsink i ever seen ... woha

  • @bganightfire Considering 300 other people got the same thing, and this really happened. and Newegg contacted me, AND I have videos of me wearing a newegg.com beanie (which I wear frequently). I take this as a compliment, so thank you.

  • Comment removed

  • @bganightfire Dude...before posting stuff like this...google it.

  • @bganightfire You. Are the most retarded person i have ever... I mean, really? >.<

  • Comment removed

  • @bganightfire Someone should teach you about a little thing the rest of us like to call "humour".

  • Comment removed

  • hummmm so u didnt just got to the store and grab and empty demo box with nothing in it like half of the ppl who claimed to have a fake 1 just to get a second 1 but have been busted grabbing a demo box from the store just to try and swap it with new egg lol g i wonder y ur box is broken those wires are really hard to try and get off the box arent they lol

  • wow

  • did you get a refund???

  • sexy elbows :P

  • you bought on a site? (sry for my english)

  • bla bla bla look at my elbows, bla bla bla fake intel, bla bla bla. Video's over, nobody else has to waste 7:40 minutes listening to this fuck babble now.

  • @FueledByCommunism Thanks for summing it up for the rest of the viewers, really helped me out =)

  • @Sm0kaCola Thank you for having a sense of humor. Really restored a portion of my faith in the rest of humanity :D P.S. Sorry to hear your misfortune with newegg, glad they got it sorted out :P

  • @Sm0kaCola Thanks for having a sense of humor. =)

  • From what I gather, their was about 300 of these fake units floating around.

Has anyone sent the plastic piece in to the RCMP to have them check for any drug traces to it or in the plastic itself?

Really, 300 units is small potatoes in the crime business for this day and age. A lot of work went into it for such a small return (as just being fake).

    Just a thought.

  • Someone plucking i7s at the intel factory aye

  • AMD is not in my life sorry there products = shietly I only use it once and never use there product again INTEL FTW!

  • Man, that must have been a huge shock.

    Lucky you're dealing with Newegg.

  • Thats not a heat sink it's a novelty candle.

  • i feel for you man, atleast they the people you bought it from (newegg right?) gonna replace it. silver lining lol.

  • I am a newb builder ( im 12 years old) i have built two gaming computers and I KNOW not to install that piece of crap in my machine...Im planning to buy an intel core i7 930,12 gbs of ram, ati radeon hd 5850 toxic edition...So ya just had to say that.

  • 12 years old and getting that? You must make a killing in the lemonade stand business :P That or loaded parents lol

  • @Sm0kaCola ROFL

  • his rents obviously paid for it....

  • I know, it was sarcasm lol

  • 12gb? u take your mind of 4.2 ghz oc :)) and y would take a 5870 and 6gb any day against 12gb ram and 5850

  • Im actaully going to get 2x Ati radeon hd 5850, i already have one from my current build but i just figured out i can't have a card at stock speed and one factory OC so ya...just two stock speed hd 5850's

  • "This is an abomination of a heatsink"

It's ALMOST as bad as any given stock heatsink.

  • there no such thing as pins anymore ......if you have not notice....

  • There is an annotation in the video stating its a habit of mine to call them pins instead of pads. If you have not noticed, it is around 2:14 as soon as I say pins.

  • @djhacker Um, there are no pins in Intel processors anymore, but there is still such a thing as pins.

    AMD FTW.

  • @djhacker I suppose you haven't seen an AMD cpu before...

  • Why would you buy the 920 when the 980X comes out in like 3 days.

  • Because the 920 costs around $250, and the 980x will cost around $1000...

  • Because only a complete asshat would pay $1,000 for a processor. It won't affect the price of the 920 much. Plus I already have a 930 in this PC @ 4.02GHz

  • Lol okay, because it's not like the performance is twice as fast as the 920 or anything... :\

  • Nope, just has a x1 higher multiplier on it so basically at stock settings loading bios defaults its sitting at 3.0GHz. I already OC'ed it to 4GHz though, thinking about going higher but 4 is pretty satisfying atm.

  • You realize it's a 6-core processor right?

If you read benchmark reviews people are saying it performs twice as fast, if not faster than the 920. And the extra cores greatly improve multitasking.

  • I was talking about the 930.

  • Oh :P

  • Man, I sure would love to see how that thing overclocks. ;)

  • worlds worst and cheapest heat sink =D!! l o l

  • I think somebody stiffed NewEgg, and NewEgg needed to check what they were shipping.

But I would see if you can keep that, it probably will be a collectors item in a few years.

  • @bigun89 Nah, I have to ship it back to get my refund =( I have my i7 built already though, 930 came yesterday and I finished building it + cable management. I will post a video once everything is set up again. And when it's overclocked of course :P

  • @Sm0kaCola

Are you kidding?! They want a hunk of plastic and aluminum back? It's not worth shipping!!

  • Nope, they wanted it back. Apparently they wanted to make sure it was a fake, yet they send me an email knowing i may have received a fake.Business is business I guess.

  • HSHAAAA FRIGGIN i7 GOTTAGET IT NAO

  • I would be p'ode ...newegg would be shipping me the real thing overnight mail, or else its mail fraud

  • Could probably sell it on eBay, collectors edition, only 300 shipped!

  • @MaliceUnarmed Really wantned to keep it but, they're making me send it back =( was going to make that bitch into a necklace lol

  • Newegg... Check your f***ing products you dumb F***s... This situation should be impossible to get in. They need to send some of their braindead tech-guys to the warehouse and check some pallets

  • @ToFFo7 While I agree, there is really no need for the harsh language directed towards newegg. It was a mistake, these things happen.

  • hey, at least you have kept calm, and noticed that its not new-egg's fault.

as for the other guy, i left a comment on there suggesting that he doesnt attempt to build a system ever again.

i mean, common sense dictates that a solid piece of metal would short all of the pins, and the heatsink is the biggest give away for any idiot, along with the "manual".

on a side note, is that a sidewinder X6?

    is it any good?

thanks for a clear video of the abomination.

  • Yes it is, and I have a review on it if you'd like to see more about it :P

  • I bought shitload of stuff from NewEgg too. Never have to RMA anything. All my machine built in my lifetime have been AMDs :-P

Oh yeah, there was an old Chinese saying, you can found enlightenment even on a blank sheet of paper. Maybe that is what that "instruction manual" is for. :-D

  • another thought. why would the supplier try to pass this off. they knew they would get caught.

  • No the seal was not broken, in fact it wasn't really a seal which as soon as I started looking at the box more carefully I realized this wasn't a "demo" processor, or at least I thought of it as not being one. The "seal" is actually printed on the box itself, the clear tape is just that, clear tape. I'll try to show some difference when I receive my 930 tomorrow.

And as for the second question, they're retarded or got scammed themselves.

  • was the seal on the box broken? if so how did it get by q&a at the egg

  • nice video ... It's quite ingenius for the fakers to choose the more prominent CPU in there i7 line-up ... judging by the small margins though its more of an issue with New Egg and there supply chain...surely you would of expected one employee within the whole supply chain to realise this mistake....showing once again the larger companies are just box shifters....hope they sort it quickly for you...

  • They've sent me some RMA forms and I'm shipping them the counterfeit today. Tomorrow I should be receiving my 930 as I asked for a refund instead of replacing the processor.

  • at least theyve sorted it in a reasonable manner .... lets hope yer 930 is genuine .... I don't wanna be reading "More counterfiet i7's shipped from newegg " in the morning ... thanks for the video though....its good to actually physically see whats capable...makes us retailers in the UK a bit more wary..

  • Thanks, and yeah I didn't think anything like this would happen, much less to newegg. Ah well, here is to hoping that 930 is in perfect working condition tomorrow.

  • just shows what can happen, problems happen in this kind of market,I always say you should judge a store by how they resolve the issues and not by the price but thats not for me to say thats for you (the disgruntled customer) ignore the trolls most of these guys been have spent less then a year and a $1000 dollars on system builds for people in the industry this kind of report is an insight and is appreciated and you've been very level headed in your report.I wish most users were like this

  • I work at a local college in the IT Department and I take courses there, I can't even go into local computer shops without people knowing who I am. So I think I go outside enough thanks, appreciate you for caring so much. Kinda creepy though :)

  • If you worked @ the IT Department of a local college you would of known that Intel demos doen't have blank manuals and misspelled words on the back of the box.

  • Sorry, I actually have something called intelligence. And when you have that, you don't instantly go "OMG FAKE THESE ARE COUNTERFEITS! DIS IS LIKE DA MOVIES!!!". I gave it a logical thought, then through further investigation of my situation I begin to think these were not demos but, may actually just be counterfeits. Thanks for your comment though, made me giggle.

  • I didn't said omg fake etc...

I just said they aren't demos, Newegg admited @ their facebook.

    Greetings...

  • They admitted this -yesterday, the 8th-. Before posted they sent me and others an email saying they were "Demo" units. Even yesterday before their post I called around 3:00 PM and they were still saying they were "Demo" processors. I've had the processor since the 5th. Do a bit of research before trying to prove someone wrong and call them a liar next time. It might prevent you from looking like an asshole.

  • me too never had to rma a single thing from them. this is really bad for their image though....

  • Agreed; however, they had to mess up some time, we can't all be perfect.

  • If you are allowed to keep it, take off the thermal cap, or atleast I think it is called that :S Anyway, take of the grey component of the CPU and see if it is even a silicon chip. That is if you can keep the thing.

  • I would, I was planning on making it a necklace but, it appears newegg would like the counterfeit back. So I'm sending it back and I have a 930 on the way.

  • Lol, a necklace... =D I have worn HDMI cables around my neck around the house for jokes but prob not do it in public. So anyway, did they agree to letting you get a 930 at no extra cost? Great work if so, but if they didn't, it is the least they could do, seeing as you could have been an arse about it and claimed all sorts of compensation, not that it would have worked but just saying. Well good luck with your build!

  • So what's the outcome?

  • Still pulling the "Demos" bs, I think they're counterfeits now. I contacted them and told them to refund my money. Going to grab a 930.
