my dear friends i had one from greece and i was able to change the color by a cable and a english software and also arabic software , without changing the rom or any hardware on the mobile , now its working perfect , even the local agent didint know how to do it , i did it with 60 euro worth software nothing else
iphonner haha...but am not sure that iPhone installed the 24 mui files on their rom so the users can change the language haha.......anyway this video is the stupiest thing I ever saw here about phones :)
ummmmmmm retard, i flashed the rom from chinese to english. then i flashed to a few different roms incl win mob 6.5 ones cooked with tons of plugins. you are seriously stoopid.
you can flash the rom on the phone to a different language not a "cooked" rom but An official samsung rom. its very simple and i belive it IS coverd under the samsung waranty if you use their software to do it
thank god you apparently computer savy ppl know how to wathc videos.. otherwise you would have missed my knowledgeable info about the fact of beeing able to put on another ROM... mmmh.... and yes i posted this video for those ppl that do actually do research before buying a phone... so aint I a helpfull person... ;)
to balo206,again you fail to understand the video,we love our phones, but you didnot see that this is a warning only, not a donot buy the phone video!,ps get a refund on ypur college degree
changing a rom is nothing special ... so be sure to say whats the truth , U CAN easily change the language .. i know u dont intend to do so but dont tell here its impossible when obviously its not ...
i agree that this phone is really hard to get used to especially if you're used to using simple phones (you know, just the call and text ones :P) but it's features more than makes up for all the hard work configuring it the way you want it to work. :)
hello, you can just change the preconfigured country in your omnia. just dial *#1546792*# in you keypad, select preconfiguration and put this code in *#81230*#. select which country you want (it hard resets the phone) and you can use an official samsung english rom so i don't think it'll mess up your warranty.
it worked for me. my omnia's a player addict version from france. i changed the country to singapore and flashed to a i900DZHK3 rom just a week ago. hope that helps. :)
i got the greek versio but its sucked my battery so i changed the rom from greek to english last UK (ROM version DXHK3) and its working mutch more great :)...warranty? personaly i dont give a shet...
Wow.. i was not aware that ppl were so spaced out when watching youtube vids.. i guess i put too much info in the vid.. again.. if you would have watched it.. i know about changing the ROM.. not everybody intends to do that when buying a new phone...but thankx again guys for the great hits on the vid. your comments give it more traffic so keep the discussion up :)
LOOK 1st off learn to type English, and if you know what to do make a video and post it!. id like you all to post a how to do video, other wise stop the flame losers!
her husband and , learn to read the forums like us smart people do
actually i kept the phone.. since i speak german and my husband got himself a new one.. this is not to "diss" the omnia,, i love it. i just want ppl to know that they should get it in a language they understand, because it sucks finding that out afterwards.. just beeing helpful.. not moaning ;)
we changed the settings in there.. it changes languages on some of the seperate software, it changes the keyboard language and the T9, but not the rest of the phone. There is no software update on the samsung page/windows mobile page.
if you would have watched my vid, you would have heard that iam aware of non official firmware. I do not recommend flashing your new 500 Euro phone with that though. On a new phone i would always only go with official firmware. I did mention that in the video.
you know what.. you are the stupid one.. have you tried? we did.. we live in Germany but want an english speaking phone.. and no.... the firmware in english will NOT update the phone.. ppl DONT FALL FOR THAT STUPID ADVISE WICH IS NONE!!!!! And, Mr Smarty pants.. the omnia is available in germany and in the us.... so yes there is firmware for both.. but the versions wont match up.. you CANNOT UPATE WITH FOREING FIRMWARE..you sir just made an arse of yourself.. bummer
LoL, your are so stupid, that hurts. You can download the Firmware for your country and than it has the right language. But if you live in a country where you cant buy an Omnia so there is no firmware in your language.
no u r wrong my sister bought a samsung omnia in UAE she uses it and have vacation here in the Philippines it is in ENGLISH language...

Omnia (or any other PPC) is only good for computer-savvy people.....obviously, the OP isn't one of them.

this is just stupid!! if you don´t know how a smart phone works, then dont
buy it!!, there´s nothing wrong with the samsung omnia, you just don´t know how things work with the ROM that´s come with it...if you want the
phone to show an specific lenguage just install the right ROM and that´s
it!

The omnia is simply not just a phone!
It's an excellent and powerful product but should be bought only by people with quite a good knowledge in computers and windows.
