Do vehicles in opposite direction have to slow down & stop in your country? That's weired, cause the road looks wide enough. In my country, the opposite oncoming vehicles only need to give way to emergency vehicles when the road is not wide.
They were the second truck out, meaning they have a little extra time since there's already a truck on-scene. That means they can wait the 45 seconds it would have taken him to get his gear on and get on the truck.
i guess it sucks to b you on ur dpt.. if you are. no smoke no emergency? ha you make me laugh. jst cause theres no smoke dosent meen that there isnt a fire. smoke jst hasnt found its way out yet. and i didnt see them runing hard through heavy traffic or nething everybody was safe. i enjoyed the response. nice to hear sm joking goin on.
Good stuff man...."are you in sir?" "Yep." "you ready to go play fireman?" Evertime im in the truck now its like i have to say that to someone...lol....good stuff great videos.
Yeah, our area fell victim to a major ice storm a month before this video. Our county was a federal disaster area, and my department alone ran over 100 ice related calls in 48 hours.
I'm surprised the IC didn't reduce you to Code 2 w/ "...nothing showing." and bring you so far out of your initial attack area. Was it really that necessary to go faster than 15+ mph above the speed limit to a fire that had already burned itself out w/ other units already on scene!?! I wasn't there but it seemed like this 'video response' was more for the video. JUST ALWAYS DRIVE SAFE! What good are we if we never arrive? Alsdo, pretty funny the IC said to stage & 'pull' all your equipment!
Keywords in your comment are "I wasn't there". This was a flue fire... and actually did extend outside of the flue and into void space. Nothing was showing from the outside, but was burning on inside. We ALWAYS continue our CODE 3 response until IC totally investigates and he/she can make that determination.
Also, this is a rural department... our "initial attack area" extends 18 miles past that last stoplight.
Hmm, I think you guys really like that air horn!
