I sit an watch people in court explain away their tickets. It makes me sick that society has become boot lickers. People sit and plead w judges. One guy was crying over his ticket and just about begged the judge to "help me out". One young girl was caught w 2 Vicodin and cried the entire time to not be jailed..I saw that out of 25 cases, id say 90% had to pay some kinda fine. I sat in court last month for a.snow emergency ticket. Snow emergency was declared at 830pm..and since i was working alot , i fell asleep early that night before the snow even came. I woke up and found a $100 fine on car AND mandatory court appearance which city bagged another $55 for. Judge didnt buy my story about being asleep so again..my.word against his. I grit my teeth and paid $155.

Contempt of the court is judged on willfulness and "intent". Your intention were clearly stated ("ill die before ill pay") that you were not going to pay them anything. Heads up....you better be careful or you will go to jail or license suspended.

This is so true. I was watching a news report on the LI Rail Road today and they were talking about cuts in service because the trains are so old they can't take the snow and cold. This is OLD news. 11 years ago I was paying a ticket in Harris county(Houston) and asked the clerk why we have all these court fees and she said "this is a buisness. We must make mone somehow." I asked for that in writing, Nothing happened after that except that I got followed by a constable all the way to my house.

ok, I'm a bit confused, you went kinda fast for me... If the public police dept is dba a for profit corporation, than why is it publicly funded, or in other words why does a portion of my property tax pay for this?
It's also my understanding that a policeman can not be sued as an individual in civil court if he gets in trouble while acting on behalf of the police department, ie: wrongful arrest, harassment, tazing...can someone comment pls? Is that why they form a corporation; is it an LLC?

@pgadeb you still think your taxes pay for police?!! Your taxes go directly to the FEDERAL RESERVE, a private offshore corporation. Police operate on a bond which can have a lien placed on it. If an officer tries to do anything to you that is contrary to your inalienable rights, demand their bond # and place a lien on it.
The reason the Police are corporate entities is so they can make money to operate just like any business.

I agree with your argument that the private sector is corrupted with money, but not that they work for their shareholders(China and others), but the private sector is corrupted through campaign finance. Corporations have used their enormous wealth to buy politicians so they could get laws favored their way. Citizens United comes to mind.
