  • Hell everyone!

Could you translate what the song is about and give some context to the pictures shown?

And could you (like XIPM3 and others) stop fighting in your comments?

    Have fun!

  • Country without its own history.

  • Mayby the country about its history you don't have any knowledge? Jasiuss, If you don't know something it would be better to get some knowledge about the subject than speaking that it doesn't exist. It is real life, not matrix!!

  • No, for your information i know a lot about your countries history. For many years it was in jurisdiction of Russia and the Great Duchy of Lithuania, and only in 1940 it became as relatively independent country as a part of the Soviet Union. Only in early 90'it got it's independence and, let us say, finally found it's identity. Let's face the truth: Belarus in past was only a part of other countrie's history, that's fact.

  • At first. I'm not Belarussian, I'm from Poland. And , I think, You need more information about Great Duchy. I know, You are from Lithuania but find out the information what language has been spoken there until 1699 year, lithuanian?. Yes, like an informal language in Žemaitija. We, Lithuania, Belarus and Poland has really great times in history, don't insult Belarussian, because by this way you are insulting Your own country.

  • And find out the information if Belarus or Poland have ever been conquered only by Russia. Zyvie Belarus! Жыве Беларусь!!

  • Dumbass, learn history a bit and who occupied your precious Poland besides Prusia and Austria in 1772, 1793 and 1795. Besides, it was fault of Polish.

  • Ordinary people were speaking Lithuanian all the time, since 1569 more and more people of the upper class were speaking Polish and office language was old belarus (slavs) language, but this doesn't mean that Belarus had it's independent history. There were Lithuania and Poland, then Zsecpospolita since 1569. Belarus as independent political structure never existed lol

  • Russia, but they never conquered Poland alone. In XVIII they conquered us with Prusia and Austria. You are speaking that Belarus has never existed like a independent political structure. And that mean they hasn'n had a history? Thinking by this way You aren't Lithuanian but the habitant of Soviet Union. Lithuania did't exist in the map of Europe for a long period of time. That is mean that in that period of time Lithuania did't have history?

  • Zyvie Belarus!

    Жыве Беларусь!

  • Country of brave men and beautiful history!

    Zyvie Belarus! Жыве Беларусь!!

  • lukashenko isnt hated because he is a dictator, he is hated because he is weak, stalin was a 1,000,000x worse dictator, but he was powerful and exhumed it, people commited suicide when he died, nobody is going to do that for this weakling.

  • ha-ha, you don't know me, b. and it's not about luka, that's about your comment about Belarus, you pig.

  • and you dont know me, and if you are going to get bitchy about my comment on belarus, reply to that comment, not my comment on luka, shit head.

  • Belarus rocks/Lukashenko sucks

  • I visited minsk about a year and a half ago for about 8 days, and really enjoyed it. I think it is a shame that Lukashenko has such power and abuses it so. All the people I met were so kind.

  • Belarus is a country that seems to be fine on paper. But its not, Mr. Lukashenko loves power more than anything else, he doesnt want people to be free, he wants them to obey. Thats why i left my country for some time. I want to live like a free man.

  • Try to ask old, poor and ailing Red Army veterans which are force to make choise - food or medicine - who really won? That's my explain for you why I hate communism, why I prefer freedom and why Polish people supported Orange Revolution. Next time when you would think that free market is against people (also in Belarus), than think about Audi. Regards.

  • Compare it with living standards of old Russians. The difference is like between Audi and Moskvich. Don't you ever puzzled why it is so? The answer is : freedom in Germany (West Germany of course) and communism in USSR.

  • I'm Polish and I like Russians even if we variously perceive many things. You said "century's biggest day light robbery"? For me it's sth else. Let me explain it this way : your grandparents fought bravely against Germany. They payd ab 20 millions victims and finally won the war. Half century later German veterans got very good pension, health service and assistance in sanatoriums. They used to rest at holiday in warmer climes etc.

  • Shut up you stupid Poles you think your great. Belarus isnt like Russia our peolple are different and better in many ways than the Russians or the Polish we just havent been very lucky, with Chernobyl and Lukashenko.

  • hahah fuck you, you guys are russias bitch, basicly a mix of russians and polish and woops out comes belarus haha

  • I love Belarus, I have been there several times.

At times I pity them for their "elected" "leader"...

Btw, Minsk is one of the cities you should see in your lifetime.

  • Very interesting exchange of views. I'm leaving tomorrow to Kishinev for business. It's a matter of one week. You should meet Moldovan girls too. Best regards.

  • have a good trip

  • EU is a policy project, not conglomeration of member countries. WE aren't only member of EU, we are EU, so there is no need to defy. If you think that Poland isn't free becouse of it, it means that France, Spain, Dutch, Italy and others aren't free too.

  • However, once you join the EU you have to tow the line. Do you think any of the EU members can openly show support for countries like Cuba, VEnezuala or Iran without repucutions? I respect Luckashenko for his open disagreement with the USA's foreighn policy while many countries have chosen to obide by USA's rules just to avoid sanctions, or gain access into the WTO or sign a Free Trade Agreement.

  • We dont have to tow the line - it's our line, we want it and create it. Many people in EU are not American lovers, but we both subscribe to fundamental values as democracy, freedom of speech and assembly, free market etc. Democracy is not against people but it's for them, the some is with free market. Is it ok that Cuban people earn ab.10$/month?

  • Your line? haha, thats abit naive. You know who calls the shots in NATO and in the EU its the most powerful nations that have the most influence. Thats why the Euro uses Germany's monetary policy model not Denmarks. I AM NOT AGAINST THE EU. However the reforms it demands for eligability for membership should only occure in Belarus over the next few decades not overnight.

  • Cubans would make more money if the USA and EU would stop subsidising their ineficient sugar economies with billions of dollars just to keep their farmers in business. And Cubans would be better off if the USA would drop its enbargoes against the nation for not kissing its ass. Cuba has shown its ability to create a public, economically viable health care system, that is the best in the world, despite the heavy sanctions against the nation.

  • For Poland it took 15 years (1989-2004) to join EU. The reforms were very expensive, but now we are where we shuld be. The common market and community of values gives a high self-esteem to all EU members.

  • GO LUKASHENKO!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

hmm i wonder how many US dollars those protestors were paid..

  • I like the Polish people and Walesa was a good man. However, when was the last time that Poland defied the EU or NATO? I think that if Belarus becomes westernised too fast it will become chaotic and disorganised like Russia. The russian and Polish people are different. Poland was able to maintain its integrety and independance in the 80s. During the 90s Russia suffered greatly

  • Look friend, maybe the Russian and Polish people are not so different as you think. We both are Slavs and even if we variously perceive many things, if we quorrel, we should mutually hear out our views.

  • of coarse we ar all slavs and should support each other. Thats y I started by saying I like the Polish people. However, I do not like what is happening in Belarus in terms of the 'revolutionaries'

  • The so-called "present social security" is stagnation and a state of vegetation. The Belorussians deserve it better, considering what they have suffered under the Soviet rule, or haven't you ever heard about "Black Crows"(Chiornyje vorony) and the horrible losses in life comparable to those of Ukraine?

  • They suffered greatly under the NAZI occupation. Under the Soviet Union they were prosperous. Belarus was the leader in production of manufactured good in the USSR. I'm not in favour of a soviet style economy but i support Lukashenko's gradual shift. It can not be too fast as it will hurt the people.

  • I could understand it, but I dont think that postpone of free market's reform and lack of democracy is a solution. Poland in late '80s had the same problems as Belarus today, and now we are in EU and NATO, our economy is growing up, we are free and independent.

  • In fact, Lukashenka IS the last dictator in Europe. I don't agree with you in that the democratization process is equal to outselling to America. This is the only way to insure the wellbeing and prosperity to the Belorussians in the long run.

  • The bigger picture is that to NATO and the EU, Belarus is too independant. They support Iran, Cuba Venezuala- all despised by the USA. Lukashenko's policy of a slow transition from planned economy to a free market has resulted in equal distribution of wealth, social security, high GDP growth and employment. People are better off in Belarus socialy than those in Russia. Some of them don't relise this and believe that they are represed.

  • There is no support for Venezuela---it is Lukashenka's naïve way of bluffing before Russia by pretending to be in power to have his own oil wells. In reality, the opportunity for oil pumping is a sheer myth created by the Belarusian dictator in order to play an "independent from Russia power." However, the actual situation shows that Lukashenka depends completely on Russian oil. Moreover, it is precisely the reason why he is still the power.

  • Lukashenko DOES support the Venezualen president. Yes it is true that Belarus relyes on Russia for her natural resorces for energy. That however is NOT why he is still in power. His campaignes never raise the question of oil. And any way you are saying that he depends on Russia for oil. So if Europe too depends greatly on oil, if Lukashenko breaks away from Russia who will supply him with oil? The EU? The USA? NOPE!

  • this video starts well and then is ruined half way

  • Dont you want democracy, freedom of speech and assembly? Are you against human rights?

  • look im an advocate of human rights. Human rights are violated by China, the USA many countries in Africa and some in the middle east. However Lukashenko is vilinised because he is not selling out to the West like Russia has done. Ukrain was also vilinised untill the Orange revolution and the same with Geogia untill they sold out. Even now in Russia Putin is trying to slow down Russia's transition into the Western world so as not to have his people go hungry. He too is vilinised for this.

  • Lukashenko supports Venezuala, Cuba, Russia, Iran- all enemies of the USA. He called the last dictator of europe for this. In reality his slow transition from a planned economy to a free market one has given even distribution of income and wealth, high GDP growth, employment and social security. Compare that to Ukrain where some pensioners dont even get their pension every month. People in Belarus are better off socialy then ppl in Russia and some other republics of the former USSR.

  • The so called "slow transition from a planned economy to a free market" results in over 53% of factories and plants being bankrupts, but they continue to operate only due to the state subsidies, which only maintain sick factories for some time until they die, but will never cure them. Do you call that prosperity and an economic miracle?

  • Ohhh, so u propose that all those factories are closed at once and/or privatised? So if thats more than half of the country's industry that means more than half the country's population will be under threat of unemployment. Imagine the civil disorder and social fallout, while a small percentage of the owners of these factories grows rich. It is much better to privatise only several percent a yr and maintain stability. Belarus DOES NOT need a revolution!
