  • The Hawaiian moon calender represents the days and months related to every women pre-menstrual cycle. This video are trying to clarify that connection between nature, fertility and respect from all though chants and celebration...

  • It really makes no sense at all, but it's apparent that you're trying to make some spiritual connection by saying that it is connected to women's premenstrual cycle. I don't know about other cultures but in our culture, that is not how it worked and blood was considered defiling, hence the isolation of the women at the HALE MA'I.

  • as my friend Lana would say, it's as if they are suggesting that the women do not have a "straight" (?) connection. I'm guessing they don't know what night we're in too at the moment.

  • The "straight" connection, because by that time there wasn`t electricity as today, day and night, everything was based on levels of moolight...They know way more than you think and man used to listen to them to learn something wise or messages from the Goddess...Enjoy.

  • Again, I can't speak for other cultures but in our culture, our ancestors didn't see it as you claim either. You are trying to emulate the moon as something more than what it is. It was important, but not in the way that you're portraying it. Besides, we don't call it "days" as you did in your response but rather "night" since the "day" actually began with the sun down, hence "po" is the term we use.

  • Also, I have no idea which goddess you're referring to, again seems like a nouveau spirituality thing, but where I'm from, we take pride in the duality and pride of our gods, both male & female. And that female deity was Hina whom you mentioned.

  • Why is there an apostrophe after the "a" in MAHINA?

  • It`s a hawaiian word for Moon cycle. Hina also means the moon.

  • In Hawaiian it just means "moon". Hina is a goddess, it doesn't mean MOON. She was also known to be a goddess of the moon in some of our stories. But there is no apostrophe in the word.

  • Wow. Thank you for creating this and posting it. It was powerful, even with the soft music and chimes. I really liked the fast moon phase interludes. Very beautiful.

  • I absolutely Love it!

  • Thanks,

I did a series of shorts related to the moon cycle. This one is the opening, the other ones are quite interesting exploring the Hawaii landscape..
