I really think that united states are very interested not only in control if not sure and grab the oil around the world. We have the most recent case, Venezuela one of the richest oil country in the world where from the Pentagon was orchestrated an attack against Hugo Chavez and failure, and still there are ongoing efforts to destabilize that country.
there are many toothless organisations in existance right now which have been found wanting by the perils of this day & age. it is clear that for any single african state to be taken seriously a lot of work would have to be done & i feel it would be in the interest of the AU to have an attractive & efficient structure enabling it to be a recognisable & respectible voice globally.
i have tried to look at this coup plot in several ways & have had more questions than answers...if this plot had been against Zimbabwe or south africa....or against a state like kenya...what would have the response been?
What kind of response do you want? How will the Africa Union know the kind of reaponse you want without finding that out through knowing the view of the majority? Who is running the AU? Who is responsible to you and I? Is it becaiuse we are irresponsible to know that we are just aimless chickens?
Who is responsible for running the Africa Union and who is he accountable to? How does he get his mandate and what is the role of the people/citizens of the AU member states in the Africa Union?
What about taking this opportunity to doing something about it? to practically change the people's lives? Is the Opinion of the people themselves actually relevant? How do we know the people's opinion on the approaches of the Union?
