  • He has a beautiful voice ! And easy on the eyes too !

  • MIGUEL RÍOS!!!

  • Can you stop doing stupid covers? you sing bad, man.BAD! Let the real singers do it

  • You may discuss the " Who is better, Buble,Sinatra,Darin,Armstrong and so on-Question" till hell freezes. A real artist must try just NOT to sound like" Whoever" - and if you prefer the versions of other guys, just listen to them. What´s so difficult about that?

  • @mrtautriadelta Harry Connick Jr.

  • @zoeydebra Dean Martin :p

  • @mrtautriadelta

The discussion about who is best, Sinatra or Buble, does not go on till Hell freezes. As a reasonable debate it doesn't even begin.

  • @Drblooter99 That´s an interessting point of view. Perhaps you are right. But i´m in doubt if a reasonable debate about a song performed by diverse artists or a discussion about "the best performer" might be reasonable at all. At least music is a matter of individual taste. Sincerely mrtautriadelta

  • @mrtautriadelta

That's a persuasive point, until in my mind I put an X factor winner next to Sinatra, or perhaps Paul Rodgers of Free. If I didn't immediately believe that the X factor guy is vastly inferior, I might as well give up listening to music. Though obviously your point works better with established top singers.

  • @Drblooter99 Your arguments are indeed persuasive too. I share your opinion about the X factor winner example. Don´t get me wrong. If I would have to judge about several Mack the Knife versions, Buble would not be my favorite. But I´m still in doubt if music could be judged otherwise than by personal taste. Difficult situation. And thanks for the respectfull and friendly conversation - that´s not self-evident on YouTube.

  • Someone *please* murder Mike Buble for me? I'll be your best friend....

  • id like to slap that tosser emcee! and this talentless michael shithead should be shot a ta dawn for being such an ARSEWIPE! you ruined it you fookin canadian twat, you can`t sing you gay bastard!!!

  • @kaibar25 yeah my life is spent watching videos of people i hate just to leave negative comments, hopefully one day i can be as cool as you!

  • sorry, Bobby Darin destroys this performance in comparison, and I'm not even an expert on this type of music. In fact, I'm not the nostalgia tard, Buble's fans are. You can't go back and beat the original. Buble's got some decent originals, but someone's gonna have to try harder with a new song before you can say he competes with the greats.

The only reason Buble has a career is he is alive and can take the nostalgia tards down memory lane.

  • @TheRealCritique You couldn't be further from the truth. His career became so successful due to songs such as, 'call me irresponsible', 'everything', 'lost' etc etc! Those songs were the real fame/money earners! Also what's so bad taking people down nostalgia lane? He sing's brilliantly.

  • @drfred26 The guy is much better than Connick Jr was, for sure. I just don't want to hear him whining about SImon Cowell.

  • Satchmo owns the entire 20th century.

  • It's classic how he starts clapping the offbeats, and all the people just disregard and come in on one and three. Further evidence that Canadians are even whiter than we are.

  • Satchmo no question, owns this song!!

  • DEFINITELY HE HAS NO STYLE TO SING THIS SONG ONLY FEW GUYS CAN PREFORM THIS SONG SOME OF THEM ARE FRANK SINATRA BOBY DARIN , THE MUCHAEL BUBLE 'S VOICE IS SO SMOOTH FOR THIS SONG

  • There's always some asshat that has to say someone later is better than the original and they're NEVER right. Buble has a good voice, better than Connick, who sucked, but he isn't even in league with Sinatra or Bennett etc. He's raw here, and the band is dead, making him seem worse. I just read someone say Pearl Jam was better than the Beatles. Opinion is no excuse for raw stupidity. Noone else will ever beat Sinatra at this style, because he pioneered it. Plus you need NEW SONGS to compete.

  • @TheRealCritique

There's always some nostalgia tard who hates the fact their favourites actually have competition from the new generation.God forbid I turn out like you trolling on the internet about how one era is better than another. Quite frankly those 'my favourite singer >>>. your favourite singer' is for the ignorant like you. Comparisons between the two are pointless as they have different vocal technique.

But hey, What do I know? I just listen to both singers. That's all?

  • @Th3BlackReaper I'm honest about assessing acts for what they are. I'm not a nostalgia tard. I just think that the music industry is rewarding image over talent these days. I also think songwriting has gone to hell.

That said, there are good songs being made all the time.

Comparing Pearl Jam to the Beatles is just stupid, just like Buble to Sinatra. That's factual. Muse is another good band with a good singer, but the bar in general is lower because the US public are stupider.

  • @TheRealCritique

I agree with you on the first part but bashing Michael Buble doesn't really help - he's clearly the most talented artist. Yes, his voice does rival SInatra's in terms of QUALITY - not the tone or even their vocal techniques are comparable. But their talent is.

Sinatra would appreciate Buble, that's for sure.

  • Great song to sing. Love this version. I was privileged to sing this on my first TV appearance.

  • :55 to skip the old guy talking.

  • @pariserm I am a sinatra fan, but i think that michael buble has more talent. Sinatra was always flat and he didnt write any of his songs, he was still fantastic. however buble is never flat and writes all the songs that arn't covers. How can you say that he lacks talent and has no appeal. You obviously dont know your music and your jellous because either your girlfriend or your boyfriend have a crush on him and you have your knickers in a twist about it so you want to lash out. Bubles wicked

  • @MRrednaxela1 I'm not positive about all of Buble's songs, but I know for a fact that he did not write his most famous song Haven't met you yet, at least not alone and probably not at all. Just tagged his name to it. Buble is awesome and a very talented person and just what our music industry needs (that being class), but to say Sinatra was ever flat has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard.

  • @lawsonmahoney Michael Bublé wrote Haven't Met You Yet with his music Director Alan Chang and his Co-writer Amy Foster. As Far as I now Michael Bublé has written 9 songs, three of then not on an album, these songs include: Haven't Met You Yet, Lost , Everything, Hold On, Hollywood, Home, Dumb O'l Heart, Here's to Life and I've Never Been in Love Before. Even thought Michael has not written a lot of his songs his talent is still huge! :)

  • great voice it's not as well done as franks and the rest.

  • I'm a big fan of standards, and I've just been browsing youtube listening to a dozen or so clips of Michael Buble. I don't see the attraction. He's a nice looking fellow he seems to think he's much better than he is. His versions of song lack any orignality and he certainly can't compete with the likes of Sinatra or Darin. Is anyone out there willing to tell me what this man's appeal is?

  • You've got to be kidding--Bobby Darin completely owns this song. Michael's version is embarrassing to say the least--especially his stab at swagger that ONLY Bobby had. Anything else is a knock-off--so I say, just knock it off Michael.

  • @whocaniturnto This version is Ella Fitzgerald influenced, if you find Ella's version you'll see. But you are right, Bobby owns this song...but I have to disagree in your saying this one is embarrassing, he is very good, this version is just different but I do like it. But not as much as Bobby's!

  • Michael can sing it good... but Bobby had that swagger. :o)

  • Really odd that he gets everyone clapping on the 1 and 3 and not the 2 and 4... Ruined the rest of the song for me.

  • oh fuck off!!..when u can write this type of music, or any music...i,l give u some respect

  • no one can sing louis songs as good as he did.

  • @nubetuber51 I would say Bobby Darin did the best version. I think this song needs a smoother voice. Louis certainly didn't have it, and I think even Michael's voice is slightly too rough for it. And, for the time of this song, I would say Michael's version simply doesn't have enough swing to it.

  • @nubetuber51 Bobby Darin could sing it better.

  • i like michael but this song belongs to bobby

  • One of the few still doing good music :-P

  • The guys great, why don't you get up and do it asshat!

  • Is that Clive James?

  • only boddy darin could create such a song and only michael buble could create such a brilliant cover :)

  • @MrStoneburger You DO NOT have to write the song to master the song! History has shown that over and over again.

  • @MrStoneburger Bobby Darin had everything to do with this song. Millions would have never heard it had he not done his BEST version of it. This little baby country has put out more music, listened to by billions around the world, than any country in history. Don't sell America short.

  • This is boring to me. I listened to Ella's, Louis' and Sinatra and the only one is BOBBY DARIN! I would have never known this song existed without the Bobby Darin version, which is the best version.

  • lame. M.B. trying to cop Bobbys phrasing and doing a terrible job ... the bass man is playing waaay too many passing notes also. 2 out of 5 stars.

  • nooooo u cannot just "re-do" SInatra's & Armstrong's song like that..........

  • @poissonCHA1 he just did

  • @poissonCHA1 It's Bobby Darin who made this song recognizable worldwide. Just listened to Sinatra, Ella and Louis and Bobby far surpasses theirs and I guess that's why he made the song famous. Because he does it best.

  • WOW!!! He hasn't aged a bit!!!

  • why is the guitarist playing a strat?

  • If only i knew him then oooh good times would have followed ;) x

  • i like it

  • well geez, if you are going to post a song, post the whole song.

  • boooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He looks like Mr. Blue from Reservoir Dogs. But that aside, great performance!

  • Fail. This band swings like a bag of dog shit in a dryer. These douchebags give white jazz players a bad name. DEAR WORLD, NOT ALL WHITE CATS ARE SQUARE AS THESE JIVE MOTHERFUCKERS; SOME OF US SWING HARD, I SWEAR IT. I hope Mack takes that blade to Buble, the MD, and the rest of the band, starting with that no-pocket-havin drummer.

  • @dangerbooboo SWINGERS DON'T HATE! You surely don't Swing if you have that much smack talk in you!

  • @andidance Man, where have YOU been? I've known more thoroughly bad cats who would play circles around a motherfucker and then knock his ass out for lookin at him sideways. A great many of the old guard had tongues as sharp as the straight razors in their gig bags and some of us haven't changed a bit. It ain't my fault some of YOU went to some school for your BA in Abersold and came out as much a politically-correct pussy as when you went in. You better believe us mean motherfuckers can swing.

  • @dangerbooboo Too funny

  • He sucks.

  • @montka666 Well this is an old video. He's laughing all the way to the bank these days! More successful than people who respond "he sucks" to pure talent!

  • count on michael buble to ruin any great song

  • The vocal equivolent of Kenny G

  • @rvcrvc2 second that

  • @rvcrvc2

    Ha!

  • @rvcrvc2 Kenny G is awful.

  • @ViciousTeddyBear09 My point, exactly.

  • @rvcrvc2 No Michael Buble is quite amazing..

  • This is my tap dance song :)

  • If this were the early 20th century Buble would've been the protagonist in at least six different movies by now

  • Proof that big band isn't dead :)

  • FOR ALL THOSE THAT ARE NOT NYC NEW YORKER'S FYI--- OHHHHHH MICHAEL WE LOVE YA IN NYC-TEXAS-FLORIDA-OOOHHHHH

YOU ARE OFF THE CHARTS SO SEXY HOT ---OHHHHHH JUST LOVE YA

  • :|]

  • gateway

  • HATERS!!! stop hating on this talented guy. hes worked so hard for you to make stupid little comments

  • Come visit my page for more songs like this.

  • Oh please he is definetely lip sinking........I'm stickin with Robbie Williams.

  • the bass is too high up in the mix and too trebly.

  • Sorry but this guy has a girly voice.... not like Frank, Dean, Bing Engelbert.....

  • This doesn't swing...this band is slightly better than a high school jazz band.

  • @nickeyparadise Glad I bothered to view all comments. It's good to know there are other people trying to spread the truth.

  • i love michael buble, but with this song i don´t know why i don´t like, i think the band wasn´t good enough, without swing . Westlife did a better version

  • I google'd for jogging music, and I'll be damned if this isn't a good song to jog to :D

  • He wanted to really swing, but the band wouldn't follow.

  • @WeCamefortheDead Ya, you can def. tell he wants them to pick it up a notch :P

  • I think he's not be compared with Bobby Darin. But it's true that he's talented and his style evokes the '60s.

  • MIchael is absolutely great, very talented. please check out my cover of this song in my channel and feel free to vote and comment, hope you like it

  • I love Michael, he have a fabulous voice and he's so handsom too :)

  • @Pandimty HES AMAZING! HAHAH

  • @Pandimty hes amazing!!! <3 <3 x

  • @Pandimty that may be but its the lamest version of the song ever

  • I love Michael: talented, charming and sexy... ;)

  • haha that guy totally stopped conducting and just watched Michael Buble! I think that Michael's band that he has is really good, but in way they don't need a conductor cuz he is one! and even if there was how would they be expected to pay attention to him instead of MB? I Wouldn't! that's for sure!

  • Very Elvis!!!

  • I love him...Ella is my fav singing this song though...!

  • Wire, btw, Sinatra was doing what he did back then, for decades, after he won a talent show.

  • @schweppes069 Sinatra appeared with the "Hoboken Four" on "Major Bowes Amateur hour", winning a talent contest as a foursome. HE alone made the big time afterward. Still, my point was that Sinatra was an original; a musical genious, who hired arrangers like Cole Porter to arrange music so that HE could phrase the lyrics around the melody of a song in his own unique, and inimitable style. Buble' is a cover singer who sings to arrangements that were made for Sinatra, imitating Sinatra's phrasing.

  • All of you are quoting record sales as the definitive proof that Sinatra was better than Buble. I never stated Sinatra lacked talent. It`s all pop songs at the time, so what. I have a question... If Sinatra was released in the age of the free download, would you be able to quote album sales as definitive proof as you do

  • i have the version from "come fly with me disc 1 on my ipod with the beginning and extra minute and seconds...it sounds different from all the ones on youtube. anyone know why lol?

  • Elvis Presley !

  • @sluggo163 your a prick mate

  • @beachbums150 say what?

  • Bobby Darin anf of course Frank Sinatra who could nail any song did this best. History of their record sales is absolute proof.

  • He's good, but he lacks the soul and joy that Armstrong embodies.

  • I'm a big fan of Michael Buble. But I am glad he can afford a proper tailor now. His shirt doesn't fit right in this video haha.

  • I'd bet Bobby D and Frankie S are smiling watching this kid keep these great songs alive. Not the same as the originals but he performs them with a lot of class and respect. Go to one of his shows and you'll see he's a regular guy, a hockey player for gods sake, with tons of admiration for those guys and songs. Best of this generation for sure, very talented performer and great voice!

  • Anybody get the Elvis vibe? Maybe I'm weird. Lol.

  • Bublé said himself that he never tries to be better than the greats, Sinatra ect. He is just covering them and trying to keep the music alive! :)

  • How I long for a full version

  • Ignore all the haters and just enjoy both Michael Bublé's and classic versions, they're both awesome :)

  • Why do you guys all compare buble with sinatra or darin or other singers - buble just sings how he likes the music, and that is great and not comparable with sinatra which is completely different -

  • Nice job, someone has to carry the torch for those who are gone! Job well done!!

  • Darin, Bublé , these guys are light weights. Loius Armstrong does it so much better and he doesn't need any key change gimmicks . The of course if you want to know what it's all about listen to kurt Weil who wrote the thing. And of course Sinatra, well where would he have been if he didn;t have friends in the Mafia

  • Darin, Bublé , these guys are light weights. Loius Armstrong does it so much better and he doesn't need any key change gimmicks . The of course if you want to know what it's all about listen to kurt Weil who wrote the thing

  • is there a full version to this?

  • @prkfcmdz2 I've asked this a couple times now.

  • I've never understood why I like this song or how it got popular... it's about a murderer!

    But it's so catchy!!!

  • @yaloolah42, Perhaps it's the way the song is 'sung' (the harmony and rhythm are really catchy)? That's what does it for me.

  • Don't want to sound fag but, he does look a little bit like Elvis???

  • @yaloolah42 The song is from the three penny opera 1928 I think

  • @grabber445

    Yes, of course. Kurt Weil.

  • @yaloolah42 I have a feeling it has to do with the genre that made it popular. It seems that Jazz is the only genre that can take a song like this and make it, lack for better words, extremely enjoyable to listen to. But yeah, it's pretty amusing, that the it's become so popular.

  • @yaloolah42 It's from an old broadway show "Threepenny Opera" I've never seen it but i want to.

  • @yaloolah42 - And it dates from 1928....you should check out "Lost in the Stars: The Music of Kurt Weill", where Sting covers this tune. Kurt Weill also wrote a tune The Doors did, popularly known as "Whiskey Bar"

  • He looks just like Elvis here. Still cute XD

  • Jesus christ this is awful. It's about as far away from having any character or feeling as you could possibly get. If you want the real thing, and not this offensive sham, listen to the great Lotte Lenya or Bertold Brecht versions.

This is crap. It's that simple. It's crap.

  • I have to agree...this version is not very good...Sadly course Michael Bublé allways seems to be doing a great job keeping the old swing crooning music alive.

  • @FuzzyRat13 Louis Armstrong is a legendary icon. He originally earned fame as a cornet and trumpet player and was also a singer with a unique style and voice. If you like his voice, you like it. But I don't personally think his voice was particularly of great quality. He is not a singer in the order of Nat Cole, Sinatra, or Tony Bennet. I personally prefer Darin's reading of this song, as I believe his voice, timing, and phrasing were superior to Armstrong's here.

  • robbie williams version was better guys

  • I LOVE MICHAEL BUBLE <3!!!

  • You can tell Ella Fitzgerald inspired him for this performance. He uses a lot of her lines.

  • michael booble sucks

  • "Mack the Knife" was introduced to the United States hit parade by Louis Armstrong in 1956, but the song is most closely associated with Bobby Darin, In 1959 Darin's version reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and number six on the Black Singles chart, and earned him a Grammy Award for Record of the Year. Frank Sinatra, who recorded the song with Jimmy Buffett, called Darin's the "definitive" version.

  • @4ctup You are a fast learner, my friend! LOL

  • the song was composed by Kurt Weill with lyrics by Bertolt Brecht for their music drama Die Dreigroschenoper, or, as it is known in English, The Threepenny Opera. It premiered in Berlin in 1928 at the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm. The song has become a popular standard.

  • i lovvvvvvveeee Michael Buble, however, i think that Robbie did this song better

  • I saw Buble about 7 years ago in Birmingham England. He was fantastic. He ran around the large arena of hundreds of people touching their hands. At the end of the night he stood on the massive stage and sang without a mike. His voice transmitted around the arena without any effort, it was fantastic, electric. He is so talented. But most of all he is a really down to earth man not big headed at all.

  • How can this idiotic Buble dare to copy any real singer? He can do NOTHING on his own. All the singing, all the dancing moves are just stolen.

  • I think I creamed by pants when I heard the tone that the bassist has.

  • @WeCamefortheDead Are you fucking serious? The 80s called--they want their shitty bass-direct sound back. If I want to hear that bright, snotty tone, I'll listen to Eddie Gomez playing his ass off on Three Quartets or Ron Carter on State of the Tenor or something. No one should ever get a sound like that anymore, not live or recorded, and especially not on straightahead shit.

  • @dangerbooboo

Calm down, Daisey. It's only the internet.

  • OK, he has got it, but I am dissapointed that this is only half a song! Please only upload the full experience in future amontse!

  • God he looks so YOUNG! 23 he was then.

  • solid 4/10 here, about on par with fred durst

  • @mnwees Fred Who? When you fall off the earth after 1 or 2 alblums that means you suck and got lucky. Longevity proves talent not one hit.

  • @mnwees Fred Who? one hit wonder where is that yambag now, probably working in a car wash. Buble will be around for a long time, he has more talent than Durst could ever pray for.

  • whenever i see this video i say "you cannot cut there"

  • There is absolutely NO comparison with the likes of Sinatra, bennet etc!! Michael is in a league of his own,he commands the stage with such charisma and a rare talent the likes of us will only see once in a lifetime!! He hold's his own and shows us just why he cannot be compared 2 anyone else!! ......The day will come when people say about some other artist "Oh man he's the next Michael Buble....guaranteed! This beautiful man is already a "legend" in my eyes!!

  • Nobody can sing this as good as Louis Armstrong

  • @LeGullasch you got that right!

  • singing the song from louis armstrong

  • @sexyglo100

mack the knife is not from louis armstrong. the lyrics are from bertolt brecht and the music was composed by kurt weil.

  • 136 people don't appreciate Michael Buble!

  • i can see the total Elvis influence..

  • Music starts at 0:57 for those who like to cut to the chase :)

  • I told you already...I am not Michael Bullshitble, I am a better singer no doubt! He had to fuck his producer in vancouver to be somewhere the guy even had to get him a flat where he could stay, I know things about the cock sucker!!!

  • @flalondon hmmm...thats interesting. I do not see your video response. Im a vocalist as well, and I'm considering learning this song in order to perform it. I would love to hear your rendition so i can learn more about possible interpretations.

    Thanks :)

  • well I think we all have got the right to be critics, what is gold to some is shit to others...and yes I am a better singer than this clown but I dont need to suck dick and lick butts to be someone. besides is so easy to make money out of others singers great songs.

Buble is crap and that stays!!!!

  • @flalondon alright so i want to hear you sing , and if you're so good then why have i never heard of you ? instead of "wasting" your time listening to the greatest entertainer of all time ,go suck cock .

    MICHAEL BUBLE , FTW <3

  • great tune wonderful band...shame about FUCKING michael buble crap singer.

  • @flalondon

Do it better....than you have the right to critizise!

    Until then shut up!!!

  • MICHAEL BUBLE IS THE BEST!!! HE'S THE ONE!!!

But I think SOMEONE will follow your footsteps.

Upon listening to random covers of buble's songs from various people around the globe, I HAVE FOUND THIS teen GUY who has as RICH as your voice quality! I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE HIS VOICE CAME FROM.

    simply UNEXPECTED. UNBELIEVABLE!

I don't even know if people will bother what i am saying but i think this guy must be checked out! I FAVORITED HIS VIDEO AND FEATURED HIM ON MY CHANNEL. thanks!

  • @geeNteefilms Yeah, but you can be a poof or a wanker and still have good music.

  • @jonytsunami The problem is, people don't care if music is good or not anymore. Somehow this tradition got dropped like 20 years ago.

  • idk why everyone hates on this guys he's obviously very talented.

  • @jonytsunami cause he puts off like a fucking wanker
