  • i have 866 troops polish troops it took me 3 yers to play :/

  • Warband is the best!!!

  • @sisimisivo Agreed I liked the diplomacy and little things like marrige etc matter

  • idg how to level my people other than buying them stuff anyone know how?

  • How come you can choose up to 20 people to hire? the max is 5 so i have to repeatedly click on it.

  • I think with the next one they should put in an option for a mic, so you can actually just say what they gotta do instead of pressing buttons all the time because you really dont have the time when all those enemies come charging at you and you need to survive

  • thumbs up if u got an advertisement before u watched this video

  • @Glitchyscape2 nope

  • FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

    ... sorry.

  • @LeoRikimaru hehe

  • alright so when youre building structures for your forts theres one called "fortifications" and it says you can get troops behind enemy troops in sieges but i cant figure out how to use them. anyone know what im talking about?

  • "You're passing villages and towns.. basically looking for money"...

phahahaha! ain't that real life mate :) :)

  • @borkoboyanov some things never change :)

  • Overall I would say that this is the most interesting game i've played recently. It is a total shame that they kind of botched it. It crashes (sometimes), and the menus etc. are old school Diablo like. Any ways it is a good interesting game definitely worth your time. I am waiting for the next one in the series. I was waiting for ages of being able to fight on the battlefield and lead troops at the same time :)

  • And the spear thrust and stab is pretty useless for me, better leave it to your subordinates :)

  • You're obviously a cut'n'slash guy :)

I usually start with a higher horse shooting skill and I really got a hang on that fire, run away & harass tactic :) The sword fighting was really hard thing for me, and I had to advance pretty much in the game where I could use it effectively. I've never used a musket though, just the carbine, pistol and a horse, Cossak style :)

  • i need some help what do i do when it says my troops are starving i have food but how do i give it to them

  • @ravenking9999 buy it, it's fine in your inventory

  • Thanks Mate ! I watched this used your guide and within 20 real mins I have already beaten the Polish Republic in 2 battles !

  • @winnerisone Glad to hear it, there are some handy hints also in the comments left by fans of the game :)

  • @RealistReviewer i HIGHLY recomend that you begin with Warband becuase it is much MUCH more Newbie friendly AND a better game then WFAS or Normal MnB

  • @RealistReviewer and BTW 11 bandits aint shit just run up take a shott switch to sword and SKIRT (keyword here) the enemy!

  • @calantlor thanks for the tip, I think I was to into trying out the firearms, should have just kept to the old sword play.

  • hey, dude can u jus' tell me waht pogram do u use for video recording game?????

  • I think to put points in "groupskills" is not the best way! just find the right heros with these skills! Fighting skills, Leadership, inventory and prisoner are better skills to play with!! just my opinion

  • @Horkruxx Yep this is just a starter guide, you don't usually find many heroes sadly at the start, but they are invaluable indeed to fill any gaps you may have in your skill types.

  • This game is so much worse than warband, and on top of all the gameplay flaws it lags on no matter what graphics setting it's on. Warband I can play at the highest settings but fire and sword even the lowest is still laggy

  • @JASONN182 Warband was alot better developed and executed that's for sure, this is a filler to raise cash for the next proper game.

  • 12:50 - Headbutt!

  • thank a lot for this video.. it really helped

  • @themarcus321 glad it helped :)

  • how u aim in???

  • i've been playing the game for around 5days and i was able to figure much more out that you. It just seems you didn't try to learn the game.

  • >.< you need charisma not strength, it gets hard to level up in early mid game

  • i got hedache wif dis game, after awhile i cant join a faction.... den ive to restart the game again -_-".

  • @DivineIkari

To join a faction, talk to their lords, sooner or later they offer you to become merc captaion for them. Then you jsut go around and fight for them, preferebly hunt down their king and work for him. Later you can offer your loyalty to him and if he likes you, he will accept it and there we go.

  • @Mandemon1990 the game story and whatever joining faction is vry limited, sometimes can and sometimes cant, even if u conquer the whole game i doubt it will end. and to freaking gain rep from the lords and kings its eff up kept asking u pls deliver dis damn bloody letter here and there which is completely irrelevant to the story and when i ask if got special missions for me... guess what? NONE! i enjoyed the fighting part in this game only whilst everyting sucks to the core!

  • @DivineIkari Warband is far superior, this game feels like it has a bit missing.

  • @DivineIkari

I didn't speak about story and I have only got one special mission. Anyway, that's how I got into faction: worked around, met nobles, worked for them and then they offered me to become merc captain. Then just kept working for them untill I could swear loyalty to the king.

  • @Mandemon1990 i did all those, done wif swearing loyalty tingy, i been asked to be a merc but i reject the offer i heard in some reviews after u become mercapt u cant swear loyalty. im not sure bout this though but i already joined the tsar ppl and theres a little story needs to be done den blah blac blah.... den theres 1 part wen shud u conquer the castles ur king will ask to which this castle to be give to? i messed up dat 1 and i need restart again! i took berlin n the lords hated me........

  • @DivineIkari

Well, I joined Sweden and I did join as a merc captain, did my 3 month service and then 2 additional months before going to king and swearing my loyalty. After that, I just walked around, killing enemies and stuff and then king gave me fortress in south-east part of the map.

  • Even after playing all those popular superb graphical story godly games, i still enjoy mount and blade.

  • Everyone is jealous of your accent.

  • @Erichfiederer hehe

  • It's annoying to listen to u bash on All the tiny bad parts about the game when it is one of the best pc games out there, don't hate it cuz it isn't easy enuf for you.

  • @MrEDrink1 I also praise the game to, I love this game :) Mount and Blade is one of my favourite franchises, maybe you mistook a little nit picking for bashing.

  • @MrEDrink1 It's easy to say someone hates a game or bashes on a game because it is difficult when starting out, when in truth the game is more tricky than Warband starting out and does have new combat mechanics to master, which for a new gamer they might not expect, which the purpose for this guide, this is not for an experienced player. I wont sugar coat my words, you have to be careful when it comes to some parts of the game when you first start out...

  • you talk so much fucking shit u faget cunt

  • @17shotglock and you dont talk enough lazy troll, I give it 1 out of 10

  • about the trainer skill, ur troops actually rank up making them more experienced, also this skill stacks with ur companions skill meaning if u have a decent trainer of like 3 and a couple of companions with that ur troops will be getting 1000k+ xp every night :D

  • I have trouble playing this game! We all know Warband is the best Mount and Blade out, but this game I can't just ride around in circles with my horse and fire a gun which takes 20 seconds to reload.

What is the best character builds out there?

  • No matter how much i play normal i just use cheats. I cant help myself!

  • so.. what exactly must you do In order to win the game?

  • begginners best tip - horse and pistol

  • @GoliathosUS I never claimed to be an expert at this game, I do welcome tips, but you cannot seem to offer tips to your fellow gamers without insulting them, therefore your comment shall be removed because it is obscene and you are now known as a troll, grats.

  • if you put it in to intelligence you get more skill points

  • @ShipmentReviews Yeah thats really good to get early on.

  • no no no but it all into trade and go trading for approx 150 in game days and then you rule the world in your epic winged hussar armor.

  • @THEBARTMANOPS Trading is a good source of income, but it's not for me, thats kinda why I did it this way, it worked out in the end, but definately trading is the best way to start.

  • @RealistReviewer ctrl+space to ride with time going x2? but apparently its hard to earn cash in newer versions (1.140+)

  • how do i deliver the traders while on a quest?????

  • @carbonised1000 You move them close to the destination city then talk to them and turn in the mission.

  • @RealistReviewer ty bro still i got a lot to learn

  • @carbonised1000 Smart people never stop learning :)

  • anyone can tell me where the guy torgreyr is?

  • what the best way to get a proffesional army(no mercanaries)

  • @MrZombiekiller23 Apparently you get a professional army once you have several lands and are allied with a faction, but it's going to be mercenaries until then.

  • Everyone just so you know while you are in the map hold CTRL + Space and it will speed up time. Thumbs up so people see

  • @simonm199 handy hint, thanks

  • @simonm199 wow ty that helps alot :)

  • East way to make money? Make an enemy of one faction and burn their towns. Trade everything you loot.

  • Good stuff....i actually went around the majority of the map with like 4 people i'm so lost in this game lol

  • This guide is soooo misleading XD

  • @halo3guy50 at what point does it lead you wrong?

  • Should I buy mercs near the start?

  • @TumbleDryy As soon as possible really, but important to keep a bit of cash for food and wages.

  • Can someone tell me some good ways of how to make money when i have just started the game :)

  • @SpongeCakeRS I'd recommend doing jobs for lords, messenger etc, try to keep out of trouble until you have enough money to recruit a fair sized force, then hopefully you will get a job to loot some villages, this gives you lots of cash.

  • @RealistReviewer thanks a ton

  • @SpongeCakeRS

honey is worth a lot in Minsk

  • are you eating?

  • @readray I never eat during my reviews, I had a cold while recording this one I seem to recall.

  • How do you recruit Hussars and Reiters?

  • this was difficult to masturbate to

  • How do you control different types of troops in combat?

  • @namepending4ever You can use the F keys to command different troops.

  • @ 4:25 no your troops do get upgraded from recruit to experienced to experienced to veteran

  • to speed up hire troops on horseback, path-finding(skill) , add horses to inventory if you haul a lot of items

  • @Zircee Yep speed is only an issue you have to deal with, when starting out, later on you can afford more horses and have the experiance to get path finding skills.

  • unbelievable .... i got a GAME OVER. basically got to a point where any buiding i would go to i would get killed by a assassin that was send by the tsar i took ever from ... i loaded a few times and always the same.... had to start again! :(

  • @Paulown Thats a shame they dont give you a way to get out of that fix, rather poor game design there.

  • @RealistReviewer in part makes sense but i should get the chance to give a fight not just .... U DEAD!

  • in sweden i sold 1 brigand for about 150 thallers....

  • @MiradoSamurai Hmmm thats interesting, I wonder if that faction pays more for prisoners overall, polish hungarian and russian only pay 13

  • @RealistReviewer i found a guy in some castle that wasnt a ramsom broker .... was called something like slave trader, i didnt had anyone to sell but it seems that might be that one that u got more money from, maybe!

  • @Paulown i think this game typically follows a "good guy"/"bad guy" thing with alot of factors such as raiding an innocent village is bad or selling them as slaves instead of as ransoms is bad. i think it affects which NPC's follow you

  • You do get trainer- Mercenaries do upgrade to much higher hitpoints, and so do other units.

  • @parsnipstew Yeah but not at the start, this is a starter guide, trainer at the start is pointless because your so weak and fragile.

  • how do you finish a faction off? i got all their castles and everything but the bastards still around .... plus all the other enemies :)

  • @Paulown Thats a very good question, basically if your sure that all the towns and forts are taken the faction is pretty much done, I would surgest trying to find what remains of the faction and locking them up :)

  • @RealistReviewer funny enough just after i asked u that the faction lost everything and that was it, i won the quest to help Razin but i didnt became Tsar :( dont know what to do now .... did it got boring? maybe! :)

  • You talk too much about useless shit.

  • @atspats112 It's a starter guide, it's going to be the basics and whats useful is a point of view :)

  • I was born in Torma. =D

  • i was born in tver.

  • yes maybe they did make a another game to make more money or they have enough ,mabe they did it for fun?

  • now i have about 7 castles and about 12 villages all given, to my 8 armys, i kept a castle and 3 villages, on horse i use the gun and then i run around on horse with the sword taking all the guys with guns out, they are spread shooting at ur men, just slice them :) have fun guys

  • @Paulown Yeah guns only good for a few volleys before you need to get into some sword action to the enemy.

  • best way to get money at any point? goto markets check the rumors about trade, get that skill, what ever gives more profit, talk to the mayor and get a caravan with that and to where it goes, buy more in the market if they have and take it to the village that said to give the most profit .... velvet to RYAZAN its briliant get it near south middle might cost 200 and sell at over 1000 in Ryazan. i joined a nation but i met a guy that said to be the real king, i helped him,

  • With the Trainer skill, every night at midnight it gives a certain amount of xp to everyone in the party that is benethe the trainers level( this includes companions training u who are of high level) it is certainly not a talent that u should start out with. However as your army grows its an easy way to get a good experianced army over time. I think you dont see much effect of it at the beggining is that you are at a lower level than every in your party, but at higher levels it has a huge effect

  • @HunterKiller118 Thats good advice to anyone who is now later in the game, my thanks, in my starter guide I said it was pretty useless at the start as it is, but abosolutely you should invest in this later on to truely create an elite force.

  • I'm sure somebody said this but the troops do have XP that they'll gain from you so that they can become experienced to veteran ect. It only gives XP to people with levels below you, so it isn't as important off the bat

  • Ok I got lucky in the game i got a good army about 94 people now .. But the main problem is im running out off quests that I can profit and support my army .. It costs about 3500 and its ok .. But if you add lost units costs and etc. Its hard to get that money .. Are there any missions that I can get good money .

  • @resistanceunion Easiest way to make enough money is to get enough rep that you can join a faction (talk the the leader of the faction), I got a sweet mission from one noble in which he told me to go pillage 3 villages, the goods from that I sold for 5 grand, quick and easy money, once your in with a faction you will get villages and forts which will pay you rent, but until then pillage your way into a factions good books, I chose russia because the noble gave me a nice offer.

  • Thank you so much for this guide. I bought this game yesterday and I was so frustrated because I couldn't understand how the game wanted me to play. Now I am doing better and I own a small mercenary team.

  • @TheHydra014 Good to hear, it makes it worth while :), another tip is find a faction you want to join with, Russians are a good one as they are at the edge of the map and once you ask them for missions, find out who their enemy is and go pillage a village or two, you can make alot of money fast selling the goods taken, to improve your fortunes.

  • Why are you trying to kill your teammates in the tutorial? :D

  • @spindle12 Honestly I have no idea, sometimes when your talking and playing you do some dumb stuff and thats one of them, sometimes its just a random accident, sometimes its sheer noobishness, but either way it funny as hell xD

  • Iam so missing the tournaments : ( That was the best way to earn money early on in the game in warband and here, only 50 thars for a pub fight compared to nearly 4K for wining in tournament in warband. We definitely can expect hell lot of patches XD

  • @Emczes Yeah and the pub fight is crap, you can just spam e key and win every time, I think you can do it 6 times before he gets tired, in warband you could tournament and arena pretty much all the time, tournament ment going to other cities, but a great way to make big money, I really wish they had some competitions in this game, like shooting or proper 1 on 1 dueling with a hard opponent for crowd.

  • well...i dont need any advise...cus im using hax xD im sutch a lazy noob :P

  • @xsnake666 it's tempting to use the tweaker especially to fix some things xD

  • What exactly is this game? What's a similar game? Thanks

  • @dragonangel6 Well its essentially a sandbox adventure game, bit like Sid Miers Pirates, its set in the East of Europe in the 1600's when gunpowder weapons first came into combat, it also gives mounted combat which is rare in games.

  • The final thing I'd say is that joining a faction also provides opportunities for pillaging villages. If your faction is attacking a country in one place, you can often go and pillage a village elsewhere, and get away with thousands of money worth of loot. Can be a bit risky, but there's a lot of money to be made.

Apologies for the wall of text. Just thought I'd comment as I watched, since I've gone through all of this and got further into the game. Mostly an excellent guide though, well done.

  • @Gnrlshrimp It's alright I agree with most of what your saying, this is mostly stuff further into the game, this is a starter guide, but its always useful to have info for later in the game for people who dont know this game.

  • One thing to note, I suppose, is that joining a faction seems a lot more important to do in this game, because wars last longer. They provide you with a lot of opportunities to grab quests from lords, get involved in fights, etc etc. You'll usually get at least one scouting mission in a campaign, which is quick, and easy money. Then you usually have to go buy some cows, which can take a while, but it's still easy money.

  • @Gnrlshrimp Yes thats a very good point, thats somethign you usually get into later in the game once you have enough rep built up you can try to pledge your loyalty to the leader of which ever faction you've been building rep with and as a reward you get pretty simple rewarding quests that allow you to improve your lands and forces.

  • @RealistReviewer I joined quite early on. It's quite easy to make the lords do all the hard work, and join in at the last moment to get a share of the rewards. I think it took me...a couple of in game weeks to persuade Sweden to hire me. I had useless equipment and rubbish troops, but I was able to make a lot of money from easy quests and only joining fights at the last moment.

  • I question the value of merc camps as well. The soldiers are really low level. Even if you give them the best equipment you can, they're still inaccurate, weak, and slow. You need to improve their equipment so much to make them useful that they become way too expensive to bother hiring. Useful as cannon fodder, but that's it, in my opinion.

I had much more luck with mercs from taverns. They're more expensive to maintain, but they can at least hit stuff and they don't die as easily.

  • Generally escort quests do require you to cover long distances, but I've never had to spend more than two days game time travelling to complete a single quest. I suppose it can be kind of annoying, but it's kind of useful to explore as much of the map as possible early on, to find as many heroes as you can so you can get useful ones, like a doctor.

  • On the subject of pikemen, they have very good armour and out-range pretty much everyone in melee. They're useless against musketeers or marksmen, but they can regularly beat anyone using a one-handed weapon in melee.

Also, mercenary marksmen, despite costing the same, are vastly superior to mercenary musketeers. I never bothered with infantry early on, since a thin wall of muskets beat most early foes, but I'd guess one of the infantry choices is probably much better than the other.

  • Ransom Brokers do provide more money for better troops. Reiters, if you're lucky enough to take one prisoner, sell for 60 or 70.

Amusingly, in fist fights, if you just spam kicks, you won't get hit once. I've yet to try it in a 1v1 fight with swords, but I suspect it'd work just as well there.

Also, if you go to the village mentioned to you at the end of the tutorial, you will find a few sort of beginner quests to do there.

  • As for trainer, it's useless at the start, but later on in the game there's ways to get troops that can be trained.

I'd say path-finding isn't worth you taking. To start with your small army will outrun most dangerous things. Later on, picking up a hero to use as a skill monkey for path-finding, spotting, healing etc is more useful.

One other thing to point out is mercenaries are, surprisingly, usually at least as good as basic soldiers, so deserters can be beaten with only a small advantage.

  • @Gnrlshrimp I'm pointing out at the begining you should avoid the deserters because they are tough, I had double their men and was trashed before I could fire 3 shots, so clearly some deserters are bad news.

  • @RealistReviewer Was it cavalry, by any chance? One thing I did notice is that my marksmen were completely useless against cavalry at the start. Against infantry and enemy marksmen, I could usually manage with similar numbers, although I did usually take a few losses.

  • @Gnrlshrimp It was a combo of professional marksmen and infantry against my raw unimproved mercenary army double their size, i had about 30 musket men and 30 infantry, so no cavalry involved except for me, I shot 3 shots as I usually do trying to kite some of the men, which I did, but for some reason by the third shot my army was pretty much beaten, I think it was the difference in gear.

  • @RealistReviewer Perhaps it was because I went for pure marksmen at the start then. I copied Rhodok's tactic from Warband. Get on top of a hill with a ridiculous number of ranged soldiers, with a small shield of infantry, and shoot everyone before they reach you. If you were using troops from the mercenary camps, it'll have been the difference in level. If you talk to you troops, you can see their stats. The troops from mercenary camps are terrible.

  • @Gnrlshrimp Yeah I often sit ranged on a hill to rain down fire on the enemy with infantry protecting, while I and whatever cavalry flank from behind, usually works like a charm every time, but it can fail until you've better geared troops who can take a melee assault from better troops, so best to avoid until that changes.

  • I understand most people's reluctance to spend ages reading a manual before getting into the game, but the Mount and Blade series consists of huge sandbox worlds with a lot to them. Honestly, I think in some cases people just need to realise that reading the manual is going to save them from wasting a lot of time trying to figure out what's going on.

Secondly, for swords, you can nearly always land a hit if you block your foe's swing first.

  • @Gnrlshrimp Most people these days expect not to have to read the manual to play, especially new players who they hope to attract, so in that regard I think they need to do a longer tutorial or tutorial missions, because sadly we cant change peoples opinions, they dont want to read manuals anymore.

  • @RealistReviewer Yeah, an optional tutorial mode would be quite useful, I suppose. Maybe an example of a siege, and a chance to test out commanding troops. Tutorials are expected from most games these days, I guess they did screw up there.

  • 35 minutes!

  • @owainmeurig Yep and this is the basics xD
