Even Feminism is a form of traditional gender roles, in that it requires men as a class to provide for women as a class. It is not an end to traditional roles; just a redistribution of them.
And btw, I am arguing over terminology, not whether or not we should move forward. Of course we should move forward, out of the social expectation of gender roles.

@crypter27 well, women should know that as long as they contribute to the mistreatment of men they're actually converting men that would otherwise help women into men like us. I think that chivalrous tools will either die or serve women while other men observe those men and realize they don't want to be like them. Eventually, men's attitudes are going to change and we won't be so soft on females.

@Popadibs Sorry, I avoid media news but I believe it has happened repeatedly.
The trouble is that men-on-men violence is prevailent because of patriarchal social expectations; men must be brave, touch, heros... the list goes on & on.
The trouble with men is we have conditioned to believe that admitting we need to change is admiiting we are weak.
It is a tough road but we can do.

Traditional gender roles/expectations are embraced by both sexes. It's not the "will of the father" (patriarchy) any more than it is the "will of the mother" (matriarchy). Whenever a man suffers and someone says "blame the patriarchy," the effect of this is blaming men for something both sexes perpetuate. The use of "patriarchy" is not quite accurate in this context.

@Gogonostop "Patriarchy" is the mentality that (backwards) Folk maintain & it is far from traditional; on the contrary; roles are imposed as the "way things should be." When people (especially fems) mature they make their OWN decision based on what they really want/need.
Are you trying to change fems to accept what MEN want?
That is how we got into this mess to begin with!
WE must be the change that we want in others.
Resisting evolution will only leave us that much behind emotionally.

Gender roles are indeed traditional, in that nearly all cultures require the men to fight in war or to provide for women in some form (ours included), and relegate women to the private sphere, and men to the public, and these have been held for a long time. Even Feminism is a form of traditional gender roles, in that it requires men as a class to provide for women as a class. It is not an end to traditional roles; just a redistribution of them.
