Any particular reason for the new channel?

According to the side bar, their channel has been flagged.  They got a new channel in the hope of minimizing the loss of videos and subscribers.

Hey I do not exist just to drive up your subscriber list every time you decide to start a new channel. Do not just tell me to go subscribe to your new channel. Tell me what is going on and why you are starting another channel or I will unsubscribe to this one and be done with you altogether.

I think ScienceChick is right. Sometimes the communication of problems with flaggers and voteboting and pressing charges against channels by theists and false DMCA claims and and all this shit is only to understand for people who know all the internal matters anyway. For new members, or others, who have not the time to follow every day everything on YT, but are also interested and want to get involved, the channels should explain the issues in the sidebar a little more detailed.

It wasnt originally in the sidebar. It was added later. If you had read all the comments you would have known that. And yes some people do care about their subscribers.
