Has Subaru ever fixed the brittle gears of the WRX transaxle yet ? My transaxle in my '06 WRX that I purchased new in Dallas broke TWICE in less than 18K miles and one year old before I traded it for another make of performance car, and I am on my third new car(BMW 3series coupe)since then. Subaru would not cover it under warranty($6K cost), so they lost a customer for life, or at least several new car purchases.
The funny thing is that probably 99.9% of these arm chair racers have never and will never push any of these cars to their limit on a track. All of their so called "knowledgable insight" comes from tv shows and the internet. Not from real seat time. Before you get your panties in a bunch, try and push one of these cars to the limit. Once you do, you'll find out that this bullshit is exactly what it is, bullshit. Who ever puts the money and time in, will always have the faster car.

If you weren't aware, the only reason Evo has ever beaten STi is because it's more prepared for the track ie. stiffer suspension, while on the other hand the STi was built for comfort and reliability.

The T25 was built with focus on response and performance but is still a comfortable daily driver. As far as I can tell the T25 is 10x the car the FQ is. @05subiegt jeremy showed the turbo lag in highest gear at 30mph and accelerate with full throtle. Offcourse you have turbo lag, if you drive the evo on track you will barely go under 3000rpm so you will always have full power of the turbo + gear ratios are also an important fact to consider. 6th gear is probably overdrive but cannot confirm that.
Both STI and EVOs have their pros and cons. Theyre both amazing cars but generally the STI shouldve taken this or at least been even with the evo. The driver of the STI waited too long to drop into 3rd and had to play catch up there after. Its def the driver in this situation.
Love the pure bias & hatred between Evo fans and STI fans, yet there is little to no animosity between those cars' owners. I love the Evo, but i'm not going to bash the STI.

why it is that evos are fasters than stis? I mean evos doesn't have 300 hp like stis and still stis get raped by less than a second... so how the fuck is that posible? is the sti heavier? the evo has more torque? wtf! somebody explain! Aniway i still love the sti is my dream car.

Evo has yaw control & it takes corners better because of it.
STi & Evo are about equally fast down the straights but it's the corners that the STi loses time at to the Evo.
