I have heard of Mourao's recordings of the Lyric Pieces on Vox, but this is the first time I have ever heard any of her work. Who did she study with? Was it with Rudge? She is only 77 - what has impacted her ability to play today? It is a sad loss, as she plays with such verve here! Thanks for sending this on.

She started to play very soon, with Joseph Kliass, a great brazilian professor, who studied with Krause. She studied in Europe and then with Mme. GUIOMAR NOVAES.

Yes! I have heard of Kliass, too. With such impeccable credentials, I am not surprised that Mme. Mourao played with such sensitivity and polish! (:-D)
