1. Doctorow can write whatever he wants. Even movies made from non-fiction books tend to be somewhat fictionalized for dramatic purposes.

2. Yes, I mis-spelt "Rosenberg" - that was a typo. Big deal

3. Their two sons were Michael (born 1943) and Robert (born 1947). In 2008, both conceded their father was guilty of espionage, except on the nuclear-related counts. In any case, post-cold war revelations from both the former KGB and their fall partner.........

In short, I have no sympathy for Julius and Ethel, although I have plenty for Michael and Robert.

@governorsid1 You big dummy!!! Just out of fairness, I looked up "The Book of Daniel." It is a freely fictionalized account of the Rosenberg case. Who is ignorant now?

@wardenphil I was referring to the book of fiction and the movie. But they still got a bad deal, and their conviction is still controversial. Then we could argue the immorality of the death penalty, especially for passing information, if that is, in fact, what they did. We are all world citizens, not Americans. Many Americans have lost their patriotism since our global colonization and napalming began. Every country is a villain, including ours. There's no need to take sides, anymore.

@governorsid1 For all our nation's faults, it is still the greatest on earth. In college, I got tired of foreign students (usually from western europe) running down this country. I said then, and still believe today, that they were free to have the country they wanted because the U.S. did the things it did. After the cold war, look at all the former Warsaw Pact countries that vied to get into NATO (not the reverse!). Just curious, were you a hippie or something when you were younger?

@wardenphil You need to learn about the United States and what really goes on. All governments are fraudulent. There is nothing for any citizen of any country to be proud of. I'm not running down the U.S. I'm running down all governments. What do hippies have to do with common sense? I exclude no one. I have no nation. I'm not proud to be an American; I'm happy to be a citizen of the Universe.
