This thing won't work. In a post apocalyptic world, who is going to re-breed the seeds, and redistribute them around the world when there is no transportation network or mail system in place. They are just going to be a bunch of frozen seeds under the snow up north, lost to memory, until they lose their vitality and become inert. Maybe if civilization reestablished it self before that happened... and actually... knew to look for it.
