im 14, about 140-150 lbs, and about 5'6" what would be a recomended bike from any brand (kawasaki,suzuki, honda etc.)? im not a rich badass, so i cant spend like $4000+ on a bike. and im a beginner too. $3500 is my maximum. i live out in the country and want a good off road bike(not motocross). i also ATLEAST want 100cc or above. any suggestions??

My dad has one of these and I ride it more than him even though its a trail bike I take to the track it handles very well and they last not one bad thing on this bike

I have this exact bike and I must say, it is impressive. Of course, it is my first 450, but still, this thing is a beast. And I agree with what they said in the video about the shocks being rather on the springy side, but it's a trail bike...just something you gotta get used to and it's actually quite nice on the trail.

@bandguy360 first depends were you live some places you cant even do it otheres it is very expensive to liscnse but just for the kit such as lights blibkers ECT ur lookin at only 300$ im not sure if the kit i saw had a spedo with it some you may need another 150-200$ quite cheap i live in seattle and cant legalize dirt bikes =(

dude enduro testing is and very much shall be as hard if not harder then the motocross testing. i have a 450x and i do ride enduros and i ride that thing as hard as i can and let me tell u i expect alot. if u own one then u know what i mean but if u dont then u have no clue.

@450rable i agree they should have some testers that really know what they're doing on a bike and could push the bike to it's limits, but how many average joes that buy this bike will ride it hard every single second they're on it? i understand your point, but i also disagree by saying they did a good job with the bike testers riding it like someone normally would.

@91rxl650 i agree alot of average joes do buy these 8,000 dollar machines and nowhere ride it to its maximum potential but when u have crappy test riders who go to slow through a rock section and crash it i think an average joe is always willing to get better at riding and by having good test riders who ride the bike hard and maintainable its more appealing.

@450rable good point. i wouldn't consider myself necessarily a "good" rider but i can shift as well as anyone on flat ground., it's just in the air i'm not comfortable. i don't have my own bike, but i ride my cousins crf230f a lot and i like it...except it's still a little small for me (6'1''). i'm always looking for new things to try and i can clear their approach to their driveway with ease and confidence but it still doesn't look pretty. it's only about 10 feet across but it's still fun.

I was "this close" to buying yamaha's 450. Then I did a little more research and discovered that out of the box, the honda's stomp the yamahas. I'm just not into fiddling with them and spending more money to get them to go fast. So I went with the honda and I'm in love. Although, they're right about it not being quite low enough to go over boulders and stuff.

suspension was easy setup for me. forks: run one rate less than recommended for your weight, then put 7w oil in them. that will make them super plush in the beginning part of the stroke yet the thicker fluid will have more affect on the valving adjustments and give very good bottoming resistance. shock: again run one rate less than recommended and then set the sag less than the factory recommends. i run 82mm of sag. that will make it soft yet keep it from squirming around on big high speed hits.

I love mine, lots of power, handles like a dream, the gear ratio is awesome for trail riding. Spec wise the kawasaki and honda are almost identical, honda has .4 more inch of travel on one end, not a whole lot to fret about. Honda's are known for their durability, that's the main reason for my choice.

Well i can remember the "white plastic era" of KTm and everyone i knew that owned or rode a ktm from around 86/87 that they were so unreliable and never started etc , loads of magneto problems , think the only good thing was the white power suspension lol, but better than honda? hmm i dont think so, just look at the baja 1000 ,XRs were and still king . Although ktm dominate the dakar rallye , you dont see how many engines are changed to get them to the end .
