An excellent song beautifully sung by Amirbai Karnatki. It seems that the tune is based on some typical rich clasical Indian music which seems to have been forgotten. The tune of the song is just magnificent and it moves a person emotionally from inside because the song has immense depth and power in it.
There are excellent songs by Surendraji from the same film. . They are.. Alakh nam ras pena ..... and other is Prembina sub soona hotha. These are not availble. Please post them.
dhire are badal song is from movie kismet and is sung by ashok kumar and (I believe) khurshid...or the bangali actress who is in same movie. forgot her name..she is sister of shanti devi in movie.
The male singers are Askok Kumar (one version) and Arun Kumar (another version). The female singer is Amir Bai and the actress on whom the female voice is picturised is Mumtaz Shanti.
@fazilete - it was sung by Ashok Kumar and her co-singer name is not known to me. In that age, a hero as supposed to sing by himself. Let me know your e-mail, I can sign for you just for a fun
Please post "BHIKSHA DENE MAIYYA PINGLA" by SURINDER & I'm not sure the name of female singer from "BHARTUHARI" I am looking for this song since 35 years. I would really appreciate.
To think that I was just 4 year sold in 1944! Such clips remove all definitions of time for a while as we are transported back to our youth or childhood, and through listening to such sublime music feel as if we are still that young. Plus the fine melodies of earlier eras had an uncluttered feel to them--sweet precisely because of the relative marginality of instrumental ornamentation. Thanks for the forward, Mirzaji, as always.
