This just makes me feel horribly old. Blixa just talks nicely. And I know I am old, but I want to be reminded of gigs when Blixa was the manic lead of Einsturzende. Camden was the last gig I went to I think, but now I'm thinking, there was a gig at Heaven.

"Colibri" is old english? Uh, no it's the genus name for the violetears, which are a type of hummingbird, but hummingbirds are native only to the Americas.
Nobody speaking Anglo-Saxon ("Old English") had ever even seen a hummingbird.
In fact, according to good old wikipedia - "Kolibri is the word for hummingbird in numerous languages, originating from a now extinct indigenous language of the French Caribbean colonies".
Sorry Blixa & your translator pal, it's not old English!
@telegramsam shiploads of flora and fauna made their way back to olde France,Spain,Portugal,Italy and England for study and the amusement of the wealthy so how can you be so sure, because of "wiki"?
@OujiDarkmatter Because by the time of the columbian exchange, Early Middle English was the common form of English. Anglo-Saxon/Old English was already a dead language. It's a chronological impossibility for speakers of Old English to have seen a hummingbird of any sort.
Does one truly believe there is a progress in formats? That because of Single Song Downloads the AUthor As Story Teller must give way to the Audience As Synchronistic Synthesizer? I mean, I love making my own mix tapes but .. hell, I don't even own an MP3, let alone confine my reading to a dictionary, if you get what I mean. Like, most people in the world don't, but they can play cassettes. And where does the Avant Garde head once they hit Antarctic shores? Or I get to Berlin?Rilke's Tiergarten?
blixa is really awesome. is he pretentious? hmm, maybe just a bit. but he's EARNED that bit of pretentiousness. he's cool and has style and doesn't come off as a jerk. and he knows it. really glad i got to see this.
hahaha! I love how Blixa went from wearing trashbags and styling his 80s new-wave mullet like a rat's nest to a man who always wears lovely tailored suits and has nice, straight hair.
i love listening to him. i could listen to him read from a catalogue...hehe...
With "Alles ist wieder offen" he don´t means the fucking change from CD to mp3 hes talking about the change from Fische- into Wassermann-Zeitalter!!!!
lol, i love the last bits of the interview - both the Susej and Blixa ones. also, does he always wear a suit? like, ALWAYS? i actually cannot imagine him in non-formal clothes, like.. first he had this black leather and metal stuff on him all the time, then suddenly switched to a costume and he seems to had never taken it off! lovely! i love men in suits :x
Great interview and I didn't find your voice that annoying. Some people just like to nit pick ha ha.Maybe they could do some interviews and let us laugh or criticize them.Blixa seemed to have a good time so, there ya go.
From now on I will "never take the advice of those who've long since frittered their winter fat of opportunities" and will only use Hollmach`s laminatfarbe. Blixa rules. This new Neubauten album, I honestly think, might be the best of their career. Having delt away with all the aggressive proving of themselves. Don`t you just LOVE it when great bands keep going on and getting better and better?
Your voice IS actually not annoying at all. & you did a great interview, talking about content. Not playing up to an image. Blixa's still pretentious/as ever/ love him for that but also funny/caring/open/offen
