I gave it a lot of thinking first, spreading saved games through the main route so I could try different approaches. When I was finally satisfied with the main plan I think I tried around 30 times to get it right. But I must say planning took most of my time. I spent generous hours figuring out how I could do it.

That's interesting. I didn't think to try sneaking through in disguise. I got my guy to level 12 and to the end because I didn't feel like grinding a lot. Only problem is I confront The Master, convince him his plan wouldn't work, and then he tells me to leave. Only there's like a crap load of very tough super mutants everywhere. They shred me every time. I gotta try that way next.

its a shame that fallout has so many bugs that u can just skip getting the water chip, press A a bunch of times to skip combat, or even lure the lieutenant into a corner, so that u can beat the game in a little over 10 minutes

...actually, the only way to speedrun fallout is to cheat and exploit the bugs (I need some good mods to fix them)

@brenfuck Pressing the a key on your keyboard causes you to enter combat mode. If you get a random encounter you have a split second to press a before your enemies can react. Now, you run away, press enter to exit combat mode, and quickly press a again. Now you can continue to run away, while your enemies can only stand there, shaking their mutant fists at you.

@themanwiththepan If I remember right getting the chip only removes the time limit... well that and on your first play through it is the segway into dealing with the super-mutant threat but the game will complete if the military base and the church are both dealt with, water chip or not.

Yeah their are loads of patches and fixpacks, I managed to get half way through the first edition but their are something like 400 bugs, you couldn't do anything without the game jamming. Check out the offical patch, game runs smoothly then

I think biggest sins of fallout 3 are :

1. Too much monsters on too small area - world of fallout is mostly desert with ocasional random mutants/raiders encounters etc - in F3 we have swarms of mutants, rats, bests, raiders - literaly there is a crowd in wasteland

2. VATS fight system is not complete imho, its just wrong, fight is not realistic, and there is lot of ways to exploit vats - in F1/F2 there was fair turn based system.

3. Storyline - boss in F3 is some kind of missundrestanding comparing to epic characters of Master in F1 and Frank Horrigan in F2. Ok, in F3 they stick to lore, and had lot of good ideas, but when it comes to big things they was too scared to invent something new and good.

It's not question of graphics or real time, or more simple skills' system. 1. I've been to Vault 15 (on the lowest floor ofc) but i didn't find anything down there, just some dynamite & the 10mm SMG and no water chip, i think i have to search somewhere else but i got no "tip" & no quest log or something like that so i got no idea where to look for it.

2. If u fail to bring the water chip in 150 days it is like game over or something like that?

That's the beauty of the game... You can spend hours and hours doing whatever you want, making sidequests and such, but the main quests (if you know where to search) are pretty straightforward. And of course there's no way you can finish the game in 10 minutes the first time you play it. You should give it a try ;)

Yes, there's a glitch where you can avoid combat by repeatedly pressing the A key on your keyboard (not giving time for the enemy to enter his turn). The other speed run used this exploit, which I don't here.

It's because of Stealth Boy (I activate it at 9:33) which boosts up my sneaking skills and yes, it makes me kinda invisible. Yes the red line appears in Fallout 1 althought it doesn't in fallout 2. Thank's!
