They should be remaking the older UC series for a couple of years, at least until they get a decent idea for a new series. Come on, worst I've seen are Gundams that blast giant fingers and Gundams with an autolock AI with the "ultimate human" at its helm. Other series' aren't that bad if you really engage yourself to the story. The only ones I unhooked off are the said 2. CE was good for the first 20+ episodes, but it began spiraling down to hell after.

@heroicphoenix000 depends on how hardcare of a fan you are. sorry, some of the series are not written and drawn in similar fashions so when the series exchanges director and artist hands, the fans change as well. some people cant handle super robots like G gundam, while others cant handle excessive ethics and talking. the list goes on, all in all, i consider you a fan if you've watched any series from start to fin and respect the history and future series for what they are.

@elsheedoqueso 08th MS team is in the same timeline as the one featuring Amuro (0079). The only thing is it follows a different MS unit fighting in a different theater of the same war.

The biggest differences were realism. The original Gundam pwns like 5 goufs, 3 doms, 4 Zakus and a battleship in one fight.

In 08th MS team, realism was key. At one point a land gundam variant broke down simply because sand clogged an ankle joint and had to be cleaned out before it was service worthy again.

0079 is the year that the One Year War takes place. 08th Team takes place in the same year, it just starts at Garma's funeral which takes place like ten or so episodes into the original series. 0080 War in The Pocket is a side story that takes place pretty much at the end of the One Year War. Then you have 0083 Star Dust Memory, then Zeta Gundam, then ZZ Gundam, and finally Char's Counter Attack.

1.Hayato curator of the aerospace museum, head of Karaba the Anti-Earth Union Groups dirt side branch and one time pilot of the Guncannon is told by Kai (reporter and one time pilot of the Guntank that Quattro Bajina is actually Char Aznable/Casval Daikun rival of Amuro Ray and Zeon Ace pilot. He believes that Char Aznable as the son of founder of the Republic of Zeon is the perfect person to lead the AEUG in their struggle against the Federations totalitarian military police force the Titans.

2.Previously both he and Hayato fought against Zeon in the one year war along with Amuro Ray, the pilot of the Gundam. However they are unable to bear the oppressive nature of the current federation government and so they are now on the same side. Quattro took Kamille (pilot of the Gundam mk II and Zeta Gundam) under his wing and Kamille is quite surprised to find out who he is. The legendary Red Comet Char.

3. Quattro just wants to remain a regular soldier and doesnt want to be leader. Kai thinks that is very selfish of him. If this is the same as the original Zeta Gundam then Hayto is probably ferrying Quattro and Kamille Bidan to a launch pad where they and their mechs will be launched back into space. However the Titans dont plan on letting them get to space and are chasing them along with their flying mobile armour (piloted by Rosamia Bidan (no relation) a enhanced human AKA Cyber Newtype)

4.And some blond guy whos name I cant remember. Hes piloting that transforming mech/flying saucer. None of the AEUG mecha can fly so they need those little surfboard things to even stand a chance at fighting off the Titans. They fight. Then Rosamia retreats while Major something (Briar? Brian?) begins his attack approach in the prototype transforming/flying UFO.

5.While thats happening an unarmed transport plane approaches manned by Amuro Ray (One Year War vet and until recently prisoner of the Titians) and Hayatos adopted son Katz. Amuro tells Katz to prepare to bail out. The UFO proceeds to dodge everything that they can throw at it until Kamille reloads and manages to take out the mechs main camera but hes got a spare! They fight while their Vernier thrusters struggle to keep them airborne.

6.Quattro is slightly confused as to why an unarmed plane is flying into a battle. Katz bails out and Amuro flies on. (Notice how Char and Amuro both know subconsciously that the other is there? Thats because they are both Newtypes, the theorised next evolution of humanity. Quattro believes strongly in his fathers ideal that the minds of people living in space expand infinitely and once all the Oldtypes die out then humanity will understand one another and have no need for war)

7.But thats a goal for another day. Currently he wants to end the earth bound elites oppression of the Spacenoids . Currently that means defeating the Titians. To that end Amuro rams and takes out the experimental mobile suit. Saving the day. Theres no doubt, this is the One Year Wars ace pilot Amuro Ray. Hes fine but a little surprised to see Char. They last saw each other seven years ago when they fought to the death in the (exploding) space fortress A Bao A Qu (it ended in a draw).

8.Camillie is now sure, this isnt Quattro Bajina, this is Amuros rival from the One Year War, Char! To the surprise of none. His big disguise was a pair of sunglasses. This could be an issue since the majority of the AEUG is made up of disillusioned Federation soldiers. (Mostly they are just happy that hes on their side this time.) Quattro and Amuro are a bit conflicted. On the one had they are sort of glad to see each other alive.

9.On the other hand there is some bad blood between them. Quattro was, for a time, the head of Zeons Newtype corps and his most promising soldier was a young woman named Lalah Sune. During the time the worked together Char slowly fell in love with her (kinda... its weird) while they were fighting Amuro and Lalah were linked by their Newtype abilities. They fell in love instantly (again, kinda). They suddenly knew everything about each other... but it was far too late.

10.When Amuro was about to kill Char with the Gundams Beam Sabre she threw her own Mobile Armour in front of him, giving her life to protect his. For this reason both of them blame the other (and themselves) for her death. Like I said. Conflicted.
