  • Better violin + more practice + good teacher teaching her = AWESOME!!

If AWESOME + keep practicing until she grown older = OMG O.O!!

Overall, she's doing great for a young child. This piece is hard even for adult to play it. Sure she can become famous in future like other violinist such as Sarah Chang and other. Keep it up girl :D

  • it is quite good for a 11-year old child , work harder!!

    tune up ur instrument too

  • T^T Im jealous... Im 14 now, and I did'n start learning violin...

  • Is it Drdla's piece ?

  • It sounds just like my violin (mine was made in China, abt $50 :P)

    Great job!!!

And a violinist like u deserve a better violin :D

  • ouch!

  • please get a better violin, and throw that one in a trash compactor geeze!

  • This is an impressive effort. No one can deny that.

  • ..some of those notes don't stick to its original...beter luck next time..

  • Ouch that makes me want to shoot myself. And runover the violin and bury it. Stick to suzuki volume 1

  • their position????????

  • i want to smack that violin

  • @vlnmusic me too...:/

  • i am sorry but I have to say this. You are too good for this violin. It's unbearable!! Please get yourself a better instrument. You don't need to spend too much to get something way better than this. I don't see how anyone could play such a difficult piece with this instrument

  • you obviously have tons of talent for this age. But...why in such hurry to play such difficult music? You should spend more time to work on tone production, intonation and to understand the phrasing and most of all, enjoy your playing. . You have a bright future, so don't rush it, you will learn it better when you are ready. A good performance is not how difficult of a piece you play but rather how beautifully you could play them. but in any case.....Bravo !!!

  • very well played for her age. proud to be a malaysian. Mr. Lee, where is your music academy?

  • Thanks ! aleny2k, we are from USJ Subang Jaya :)

  • Bravo !!! ich bewundere Ihre Bemühungen

    trotzdem ganz klar 5*

  • effortless performance !!!

  • I wonder if the accompanist and the guy next to her are the kid's parents...I would say that the kid is doing very well to manage with such a hard piece on a crappy instrument, but she's not ready to play this piece - she needs to work on her technique and accuracy, so much of it is being approximated rhythmically and in the intonation. There are good sections however.

But yeah, get the girl a decent violin, she deserves it.

  • i think she did very well

    :)

no matter what kinda violin she has,

a 10,000$ one or one that was 2 bucks, it sounded great

    for an 11 year old

    :)

  • Does she have fun by playing the fiddle???

  • her pizzicato sounds good

  • OMG. i use a US$ 1400 Antonin Dvorak violin and i can't play as good as her. would give my violin to her instead

  • Sarah Chang better watch out!

  • that violin disturbs me.. a lot!!!!

  • besides the crapy violin i gess she tried her hardest and did awesomme!!!

  • Sonehow even with a low quality violin it still sounds fabulous...if it sounds this good on a factory made one, imagine how it would sound like when she finally uses a handmade one. She really is a violin virtuoso in the making. This is where I believe that a very talented violinist will be able to make her violin sing like a lark even if it's a shitty one...

  • its not really her fault besides her bowing technique. its the violin's quality. sarasate's piece is insulted on this kind of violin.

  • wat a shitty violin but great TALENT omg im impressed

  • throw that piece of crap violin away

  • I feel really bad for her. is something wrong with the violin that she's using??

  • She's got amazing talent. But why use that factory made violin?

  • she is very amazing. 5 stars

  • amazing technique but that violin really doesn't do justice to the hard work she put into practicing this piece...

  • shes awesome, but she REALLY needs a better violin to play this piece!

  • poor girl...

  • That was impressive for an 11 year old girl, but this is an incredibly mature piece. When she's older on a full-size violin, NOT factory-produced violin, I'm sure that it'll sound brilliant.

  • her technique was delicious and her tone sucked...or maybe its just the video

  • the instrument is holding her back.

  • although, yes she did very well... She struggled a bit.. shes so talented its not a crime to show her a level lower, maybe a slower tempo if anything...

  • Great Skills and talent.

However, some music not fit her age. This is teacher's responsibility to bring happy and bright music to her.

Best wishes to the talent student and teacher's efforts.

  • Thanks

  • What an excellent violinist Lee Rou is.She is only 11 and i think she has done so well and i think everyone should applaud kids for getting up and trying regardless of the outcome.I am proud of her and i hope Lee Rou continues to play.

  • Thanks !

  • You are most welcome and keep up the great playing o.k.

  • omg, someone give this pretty skilled girl a new violin, instead of this cheap one??

  • Wow, a 20us$ factory violin and 5us$ bow!

    She's my heroin! =]

    Holy Jesus.

  • don't know why chinese violin teachers are always pushing that much their students! Too hard for her!... But thats still very impressive :o

  • how in the world do you she has a chinese violin teacher when the description of the video clearly says shes malaysian?

    seriously..not all asians are chinese...geez

  • This girl is so talented for her age. I wouldn't be able to play this song as good as she can. But then again it takes practise. The only thing I must say is, she could be more clear at the beginning. That first note didn't get out right on target. Otherwise, Bravo!!

  • She plays so well. deserves a better sounding violin.. the comment on the video states tt the violin was a good quality made in china >.>

  • Nice song,

She is great for her age,

she played Carmen Fantasy:Introduction,3rd and 4th movement, which is one of my favorite part

even some part still can improve..

d sound of string is not dat gud,

    maybe due 2 d recording o wad...

    Overall she is gud!!

  • i don't think this was the right song to play. not bad, but if she played something at her level, she could learn to play that piece perfectly with less difficulty. a piece like this, anyone would be stressed practicing it.

  • she must be very brave to perform that infont of everybody....(cool girl)....

  • She is brave and brilliant !!

  • Her technique is great but the violin and piano aren't in time, her violin just sounds horrible to my ears, no offence intended. Her appreggios are beautiful, but she should practice hitting the right note, especially at the beginning and when she enters.

  • It could very well be the type of strings in the violin. For example, if you listen to a violin strung with super sensitive strings instead of dominant strings, the sound quality favors the violin with the dominant strings even if the same person plays with both violins.

  • dominant strings are awesome!

  • AZlion the strings don't matter as much as you think. If you put the most crap strings you can find on my 10,000 dollar violin it will still sound a lot better than this. She needs a better instrument, then her playing will be as great as it should be. She will be able to rehearse the hard sections with more clarity because intonation is easier on a fine handmade instrument.

  • i agree with you the beginning wasn't as great as it could have been, but she does play beautifully!

  • she needs a better violin , that's all

  • These comments are surely from GREAT EXPERTS in the field, dont you think??Gosh!

  • May i know which comment is come from the great experts in the field that you mean ?

  • these r the kinda kids who pissed me off at music camp looonnng ago. >:(

  • omg your playing is unbelievable... but u need a better quality violin pronto.

  • she shud go for itzhak perlman's masterclass.....

  • shud have use a better quality of violin.......

    MY GOODNESS SHE IS AWESOME......

wonder where i can get this notes....

i wanna practise this song along tym ago....

thx for lettin me noe that malaysian kids are still great....

  • She does well for the quality of violin she is using.

  • Thanks for your comment and thanks for your amazing violin prodigy video,I really enjoy it.

  • thanks for posting the video.truly great job! Bravo ! Now we are very sure that we have found a good teacher for our children after all these years ....Thanks again.

  • Why is it necessary to play a piece, which a child is not able to understand? Technique is of course nice for this age...

  • I like it...! Such a pro player at such a young age.

  • Brilliant skills, hope she get a better violin soon! Kudos!

  • effortless playing! truly gifted... keep it up.

  • she needs a better violi!!!!!!!!!!

  • She is fantastic!! How has she been after two years? If there is any performance from her please let me know coz i am from Malaysia too =)

  • she needs a better violin + bow.

  • It's very difficult to get a good quality half size violin and bow in MALAYSIA.Thanks for your suggestion.

  • Well you can buy instruments on the internet. Iseeguan it isn't a question about "it would be nice" if she could get a fine instrument.. if you want her to be a great violinist you are obligated to buy her a fine instrument. YOu can't expect her to perform pieces like this on a piece of **** violin. She will never be able to rehearse it properly.I'll bet the fingerboard is atrociously hard in the high range on her cheap instrument. If you want her to be good, invest in a real instrument. Period.

  • the part starting 6:24 is definitely the highlight of the piece..if you listen closely you can even hear the spiccato bowing. this girl is comparable to any of today's pro violinists!

  • yes,she did it more than that!just listen to 0.52 she plays octave higher (artificial harmonic !!?) 3.45---3.51 in octave with slur spiccato bowing. 7.12---7.24 every E notes she did it 2 octace higher, just brilliant!!!

  • Fabulous!
