  • i love my PDP X7!

  • youtube.com/watch?v=y6bunnkTVG4

    Look at that DW PDP

  • A master drummer and maker of segmented, stave, and solid wood drum shells

told me that once you play wood drum shells as opposed to laminated, you may not want to play glued laminated drums ever again.Yes,it's a matter of personal

preference and for those who are in love with the sound of wood.

  • Pop punk drummers. A dime a dozen am I right?

  • I saw a PDP snare in Sam Ash that had horrible snare beds -- the corners were almost putting holes through the bottom head. Mass-produced in Mexico. Not bad for the money, I guess, but lack the attention to detail and overall quality of more expensive drums. You get what you pay for.

  • I bought a PDP Platinum kit in March 2010. I played about 25 live shows last summer plus spent some time in the studio with them. They are holding up great. Several people have commented how dead they sound in this video. I assure you they are not at all dead. In fact, I changed the stock heads because I like a little less sustain. I love my PDP kit.

  • lame!

  • He looked like he was demon possed lol

  • i have to agree totally about the shells. they are amazing. but the hardware.... hum... specially the rims

  • got a discontinued pdp cxr kit 8-ply maple, 24x22 bass, 12, 14, 16 toms 14 matching snare... gotta tell you i'm not letting this one go, had other brands, sonor (wich i really like) couple tama's and a pearl, and the pdp's have sorprised me, that out of the box thing is just a lie, tho the factory heads are decent, got 2-ply remos pinstripes (hydraulics) on toms, and evans 2 coated, full tone, warmest, best sounding (live & studio) kit i've owned...

  • is it me or Castillo plays like a retard?

  • i love my pdp kit

  • i always thought of pdp as the spare off cuts from dw haha,

    Jokesss... calm down kids

  • That was my point: DW's are way too expensive. Nice drums but I can't justify the price tag. I don't play DW's (1986 Tama Granstar) but I will say this, I recently played a PDP kit (Platinum Series) and at the local Guitar Center and I was impressed with the sound. But for $2,200.00, I'd probably stick with Tama. My original comment was pointed at the sales pitch of "right out of the box".

  • I think there must be something wrong with my speakers...

  • "Right out of the box...didn't even tune them and they sound great" Right. Poor man's DW.

  • @XDrummerSteve Dang, man. No need to be so harsh to us PDP owners. I think I speak for EVERY ONE of us when I say we all wish we could play DW, but drums of such high caliber are QUITE expensive. :)

To me, for example, playing a PDP kit is the closest I can get to playing a DW, and even though is not the same, it's still a damn good feeling.

  • As I watched the video, I noticed that none of the drummers were what you would call great drummers they were just ok.. Now go to the DW site and tell me is just an ok drummer on there?

  • tamas the best kits ever.. unless u get into sjc or ocdp stuff

  • @masterdrummer19 duuude you couldnt be more wrong.. or wronger..wutever

  • I have had a PDP set for 4 years and I love it. its a great way to go for a good cheep set. However I'm starting to build my own acrylic sets now

  • I love my PDP kit. I did find that the 14 snare was a little weak in the studio though so I upgraded it to the DW. So good.

  • Pacifics are great, but even if they were to endorse me, I would still have to use DW, ya can't match it.

  • i prefer TAMA...couse TAMA rulez better!!!!...no doubts!!!!

  • aHHH! IT WAS BUCKETHEAD!!!!

  • They totally killed the sound in this vid.

I have a pdp BX and i love it too.

  • i have pdp 805 series. i just uses basic heads, which comes with the drums. it sounds damn good, but i tried with ambassador coated heads on, and it was just bloody amazing' ! Go for it. They're worth the money!

  • eu tenhouma e pagueimilreais com dois pratos zldjian

  • I would think by now that everyone would know that any drum with good heads recorded through $100,000 worth of recording equipment is gonna sound good lol

  • that chicks kit sounds...amazing

  • The Fuck! Mike Cosgrove drums on DW. This is just a crappy commercial for a low-end brand like PDP.

  • You might not like PDP as much as DW, but for the money PDP is the best.

  • @theDrumkilla You seem to be missing something in that mix. You may get more drums for cheaper. Yes i can buy a set for hundreds cheaper than any other big name brand; but you are missing the sound of them. They are ok for beginners, but the artists in this video must be tone-def, because those drums sound like shit.

I have played a PDP, and have owned their equipment. Their equipment broke wore out, or never fully satisfied, and what broke, did so in a couple months of being used.

  • @theDrumkilla Easily!

  • I prefer TAMA Drum! hahahaha

  • Hola yo quisiera saver , como se llama

el tema que empiesa con el video ??¿

    Muchas gracias .

  • waths is the name of that song

on the begin the video ?

    thanks .

  • a lot of bad drummers in this video...playing drums truly is another thing, listen jazz drum player like Brian Blade or Jeff Ballard.

  • did the commentator get yeal's name wrong?! wtf?

  • Who ever produced this video did a crappy job on the audio. The drums sound like shit.

  • trust me, this video does these drums no justice.

  • whats retarded is most of these people play dw,s on stage and in the studio...and some people who endorse brands rock keller shells in the studio

  • these are ok but still can't beat ludwig drums

  • Haha....

  • THEY SOUND LIKE CARDBOARD BOXES

  • Yes,but all of these drummers more DW drums than Pdp drums

  • yael is the only one that actually uses pdp

  • Yael, what a wack drum set, for a wack band.

  • so this video says its a rock set.

  • i want a DW so bad..im savin up for one but right now i have a pdp lx series kit and i like it its a good sounding kit...

  • hey dude i wanna buy the same kit as you.. the lacquer color kit cherry 2 fade.. please give me your mail 2talk about this kit :D

  • My Sonor 3005. I stand by them, and would say they sound alot better. Correctly tuned, right heads, perfect.

Not a fan of PDP so im being harsh, but that snare has the same sound with all the drummers.

Either way, bout personal preferances, we all have our likes and dislikes;)

  • i have the pdp EZ kit ($250 w/hardware) and they sound as good as my neighbor's pearl forum set, which one drum alone on that is almost as much as the PDP EZ set. they have a really good tone, and especially for only being 250 w/hardware,

    they're awesome

  • Terrible DRummers, too Bad Vinnie COlaiuta and Dave Weckl are not into DW

  • The Chick Plays Terrible

  • Good but I dont like Perkins

  • I love DW drums, and Pacific drums certainly look sweet, and from the ones I've played they sound almost as good... but man, the recordings in this video make the kick and toms sound like crap. They are mixed horibly, the kicks sound plasticy and the toms have no tone... ultimately there's no bass at all in those recordings.

But I know they sound better in person, it's a shame they didn't do a better job mixing those... I would never use a kick that sounded like that.

    -James'

  • they sounded better on the website but this vid is kinda low quality

  • exactly!! Ive played many PDP's, they sound better in real life, this vid sucks.

  • hahaha Castillo's kit was all rattling and crap. i thought the lower toms were about to break off the stand. BUt i think the best out of all those drummers is probably castillo and next would be perkins.last brain.hahaha i started with a pacific kit and i think they sound awesome. they are truly magnificent. its sad though that they employ mexicans to have cheap labor.

  • dw pacifics are awsome

  • fuck

the snare sounds soooo cool :|

    *drools*

  • I think its all really stupid. To be fair all highend kits sound good, no matter what brand. Sure there are some slightly better ones, but you really cant say a Dw is better over a sonor sq2 or a Ludwig. So its all about what you prefer. Its only with cheaper and intermediate kits you can hear a differance between the brands. And my sonor 3005 sounds better than the pacific drums.

  • go pdp!!!!

  • Yael sucks!

  • yael's kick sounds awesome

  • is it just me, or do all of the snares the players use in the videos sound the same?

    x

  • its a session video they weren't allowed to use their own snares it had to be the snares from that set they played with

  • Great now we know how ther smuggling drugs into america, through pdp drums, who ever has a pdp drum take the heads of and smell for drugs in it lol

  • wat do u guys mean by DW?? i hav a dw but i dont really know wat it means

  • Drum workshop. It's the brand.

  • i thought it was drummer world or thats the magazine lol idk

  • Perkins get's free drums from DW for pimping.

  • this is bullshit all this pro drummers are just fucking lying they all use dw like theirs prime kit

  • great drums

  • why are all these drummers shit along with their shitty drums?

  • Why do these little kids like you think they can measure strength against 25yr drummers. I saw your videos. You can buy a real DW but you cant buy talent.

  • You just roasted that piece of shit..haha

  • oh yeh and plus the pearl drums look and sound like sex (even with shitty heads on), hardware is sooooo nice looking, sturdy, strong.

    leaves all the others behind.

why is pearl the biggest drum manufacturer..

  • Just the Pearl Forums that my mates got sound better than drums that other companies like PDP and DW make for more than twice the price,

thats why im gona stick with pearl.

    pearl reference!

  • Joey Castillo suuucks

  • i cant hear the toms too good. i wanna hear the toms

  • I compare pdps to Dw the way a guitarist compares epiphones les pauls to Gibson les pauls. They sound about the same, but one depreciates in value fast while the other just increases in value over the years.I love these kits they are great for the road and to record your first work. That way you wont kick yourself for spending alot and your band never takes off haha.

  • lol thats exactly my theory too about eppis and pdps

  • They sound like shit out of the box. Even well tuned they sound a little high. But with diff. heads They do sound very close to Dws. If you dont own a kit you will never know. So be stupid a pay 6 times more for the DW brand. After my first pdp kit I will never change to another brand. They are cheap so it doesnt hurt to knock em around a bit.

  • that's what people say if they have a pdp and never played a dw and want a dw, check out my dw on my videos, then you'll know how small a brain and dick you have.

  • Saw your videos, and honestly not impressed. Your solo sucks ass, and anyone can play covers. I dont understand why you 3 week drummers with a DW think they are cool just cause you have a gay band. I laugh at you and your gay fame dreams. And about the small brain, well you are the one who seems to have down syndrome, I will start a donation for you. You can use the money to buy yourself some lessons.

  • ouch nice

  • Stephen is a dick drummer

  • besides they`re massproduced in mexico, please admit that those are really cool kits... DW has always innovated the world of drums and I think that behavior will last decades.

  • Fuck pdp, I prefer Tama starvlassic maple and Yamaha maple custom!

  • the drums sound flat

  • @drummerkid27

Not trying to be nosy, but its definitely just the mics on the cam. Drops off a lot of the real tone. I've gigged with dw, pacific, pearl, tama, sonor, and yamaha. Pacific cx and dw definitely gave some of the best full bodied sounds. Just my opinion though.

  • @drummerkid27 Yes they do

  • he does! lol

  • What a load of crap, the drummers are obviously lying. The drums sound like high pitched cardboard boxes to me. Massproduced in Mexico to maximize profits.

  • the kit is great im imptressed

  • i just bought a 7 piece mx kit, and am EXTREMELY impressed with it.

  • Mike Cosgrov rocked

  • yael sucked.

  • the labor cost and overhead in mexico is way cheap and dw just collects all the extra profits

  • but , what aquarian is made too in mexico, and theyre great, think twice!

  • will someone PLEASE tell me why these fuckin Mexcican made drums COST so freakin'much!?!it probaly dont cost as much as $15.00 to make a fuckin' 7 piece set! HUH?

  • agreed it sucks

  • Considering that Pacific LX, CX, and MX kits are made of the same maple as DW drums and you can buy a whole Pacific CX kit for the cost of getting only a DW bass drum I do not understand your comment.

  • the materials may cost the same but the labor and cost of doing business is considerably cheaper in mexico

  • what is it you are not understanding? why aren't they made in america? NAFTA is a bitch,...huh? illegal aliens...why can't they get their country on their feet? Our automobiles are made there, for hundreds! and they sell them to us for 10's of thousands! why can't they sell us drums for just a few hundred dollars more than what they make them for? the labor and wood probaly cost less than $100.00!!! come on...THINK!!!!!

  • You ignorant fuck. What is the relationship with illegal aliens and NAfTa. Two very diff. topics. NAFTA has to do With free trade agreement between Canada, US and Mexico. And illegal aliens is just people crossing the border. Put it together NafTa is us producing over there and shipping here, while Illegal aliens is them crossing our borders to work here. If anything we are fucking them, who the fuck do you think benefits from the large profits, not them but DW does.

  • they sound soooooo flat on this vid

  • exactily

  • fuckin ace

  • the first guy is kinda fagget when he talks

  • if only you knew..

  • he does!lol

  • i have that dvd

  • what the hell is up with brain's add on tom

  • It's one of those little PDP snares.

  • looks like a 6x10 pacific snare without the snare wires...

  • i think its a ddrum side snare

  • I doubt he'd use a ddrum drum in a pacific promo video. I think it is a 10x6 805 side snare

  • with the snares off. besides, it has pdp lugs.

  • I played on my PDP kit for years until I got my DW. The PDP kit is ok. Mine had lugs that were not drilled incorrectly and shitty bearing edges cause of the wood quality. But hey, what do you expect for $600?

  • propaganda anithing made in mexico is only there to be made cheap.....and yet i own one even though i live at the head quarters of dw

  • the camcorder either didnt have a shotgun/external mic or the tone was being lost in the type of room being played in. Having a PDP MX all maple kit, there is more tone than anything; more low end.

  • it's also the person who tunes it and what heads that are being used

  • gay shit

  • its just the quality of the video its actually a good quality video but anytime you put something on the web the audio will not be as great. i own a pacific kit it sounds just as good as the DW my friend has

  • They sound even better once you replace the factory heads.

  • Yes indeed! If you have the right drumheads, you can get a good sound!! You gotta tune em just right! The hell with those factoy heads. REPLACE the batter and the resonant heads!!

  • yeah they do on this vid! but in real life they do actually sound better than that!

  • true

  • all the drums have like no tone, flat even????
