@ianjeanie99 the words are just mixed up languages (italian, portugese and spanish) but they mean this...
first verse: when for much my love of happy carathon. second verse: world paparazzi my love chewing gum green parasol. third verse: this sheltered so much thatstraw carousel. HOPE THIS HELPS!
@carrier3232 i know it's wierd. It's not supposed to mean anything, they were just fooling around with foriegn words and that's what they came up with. go figure.
@PhillyDippy5 and portuguese too, "obrigado" means thanks in portuguese. I speak those three languages and you´re right, it doesn´t make no sense at all
@leaftechno galician and portuguese were the same language until de 14th century when Galicia became isolated from Portugal and galician evolved like a different language very influenced by the spanish. so it's tru that gramtically galician is closer to portuguese than to spanish, but it actually sounds more like to spanish than like to portuguese. We call it galicianish or something lol.
padfoot333s beatles tunes kick arse they never fuck up mate. apreciate it son being from liverpool myself i love the beatles in fact my earliest memory is listening to lennon and beatle tunes at st georges hall liverpool when john got shot thousands of people there i was 3 years old
what brilliance. putting snippets of songs from the chopping block together to make the best piece of rock music ever. sun king, mean mr mustard and polythene pam progressively raise your expectation til you get to go through the bathroom window.
I read somewhere that Sun King was a tribute to Peter Green, and now that I listen to it, I hear the 'Albatross' or' Man of the World" influence and flattering mimicry
I believe this last part of abbey road is what inscribed the beatles in the minds of the vast baby boomer generation...and they paid them back generously....
Listening to the intro of "sun king" I'm thinking: hmmm... seems like someone's been listening alot to "albatross". Actually, this almost borders on plagiarism! Although a Beatles-fan probably wouldn't admit this. Pfff!
Point taken, but don't know if JWL needed to pinch other peoples music for his songs when he had a pretty fertile hunting ground in his own head - having said that he certainly visited Chuck Berry's "You Can't Catch Me" when he put together "Come Together" , which kicks off the album. (Chuck sued him - John threw a few Berry songs on his 1975 R&R Album to settle). So your point is taken - by a Beatles fan.
just when you taught the Beatles were fallin asleep with Sun King, they wake you up withe Mean Mr.Mustard....fucking classic effort....so cool...its like 'what you expect from our last album'!!!?
bwanna23: That's just a mix of nonsense words that sounded like they were from some kind of Romance language put together in a way they thought sounded good.
She came in - A fan Diane Ashley found a ladder in McCartney's garden and climbed up to the bathroom window, which was slightly open. "I was the one who climbed up and got in," she says. Diane was surprised to have become the subject of a Beatles song. I didn't believe it at first, because he'd hated it when we broke in!
@katemiiii if i remember correctly it is the part in the song where he talks about a woman who claims to be an artist and is a fervent admirer whose insistence on entering the narrator's life only accentuates her distance from him..........
Sun King - blisses me out and I don't even do drugs! The little stories and characters on AR get your imagination going, yeah? I can picture all these odd people!
I always thought they should make a version where 'Her Majesty' should be between 'Mean Mr. Mustard' and 'Polythene Pam' like it was originally recorded, rather then that awkward cut thats' there... maybe that's just me though.
I tried to do this myself by simply messing around with the track listing. I'd have to edit and splice a bit in order to get it to meld somewhat seamlessly. Grrr. >(
no, he's right. on the album it goes Here Comes the Sun, Because, You Never Give Me Your Money, Sun King, Mean Mr. Mustard, Polythene Pam, and then She Came in Through the Bathroom Window. He's got it right.
i love the transistion from "Mean Mr. Mustard" to "Polethyne Pam", beautiful. The remasters sound great, although I don't see much of a difference between the '87 version of Abbey Road and the Remaster. Rubber Soul is the improvement in difference out of all I have listened to... So far.
I purchased Abbey Road today for about $18.00 US. Could not find it at the cheaper places.
The good news is that it still retains all the warmth of the original. So that's good.
I did a track by track and even ten second segments in itunes comparison with my 1987 CD, and bottom line it's not much different at all. Not really worth the money unless you are a total die-hard, or if you don't already own a previous issue. I wore under $30 headphones to compare...
I could detect more fidelity -- more crispness. The '87 cd is softer, though all the same information is in both. The natural tape noise isn't much reduced either. I wonder if I had a better stereo system would the differences be more noticeable.
Compare Let it Be... Naked with the '87 cd and I notice quite a grade up in quality. I've been hoping for this new AR edition ever since.
Disappointed by the included mini-docu, as it didn't say anything new.
With the Let it Be... Naked cd I do realize that the tracks and recordings themselves were different as well.
So perhaps the technology (tape and recording devices) were evolved/advanced enough to not really leave much room for improvement. I suspect the older Beatles albums would have greater differences from the '87 issues.
I bet the mono version would make the most interesting comparisons.
I did a similar comparison with Lennon's two cd versions/issues of Imagine and there wasn't much difference. Slight noise reduction, crispness and slightly louder with some slight alternate musical emphasis changes here and there.
2009 AR here has no musical emphasis changes and is pretty much the same as previous issue.
The fun part of doing this comparison between the '87 and '09 cd issues is that it has reaffirmed AR as my favourite album. Listening repeatedly to tracks and segments never lessened my appreciation.
The tech the Beatles used remained pretty much the same until their last records.. Abbey Road was the debut of the new transistor mixing boards and full use of the 3 M 8 track though some of the album was recorded at Olympic. The way the Beatles recorded didn't leave lots of separate instruments on tracks.. they tended to use tracks efficiently and make mixing decisions step by step so what you hear is always going to be remastering of a few layers not a redrawing of the whole picture.
Well, you may be right, but id does contain rare photographs and really interesting liner notes, and not to mention that it has a mini-documnetary inside.
By the way, I bought The Beatles Please Please Me (2009 stereo remaster) and it sounds fuckin' fantastic! It really sounds remastered.
$30 headphones... while even earbuds and headphones do pretty well nowadays. I'd recommend at least a pair of AKG's for over 100 dollars. There are certainly some changes to the middle section of Something or She Came In Through the Bathroom Window where the acoustic guitar and bass and drums are rendered more clearly. And let's not forget that bass note at the end of Golden Slumbers that is probably worth the entire remaster campaign alone.
I am going to get a few of these albums on my birthday, and more for Christmas. When compared to the 1987 CD releases these sound very close to the LP's.
something is up with the transition from mustard to polythene...I think they removed content, because you could always hear the little piece of Her Majesty still stuck in there from the original edit. I'll have to check it on my version of this new remaster (whenever I can find the damn thing in stock)
Yeah on the other uploads Padfoot made there's a seperation between tracks, but he's so cool he uploaded Abbey Road and tried his best to make all the transitions sound smooth.
i don't have the album, but it could just be a track separation thing with uploading it on youtube. I'm sure the engineers handled these tracks in particular with immense consideration.
It's hard to tell when a new song starts. You should have a little pause :)
