"Horrible new cartoons?" The current series is great. Also . . . hi, it's actually fully animated and not just mostly static pages. I liked and enjoyed the originals back when they were on USA's Calliope series many, many, many moons ago, but I dig what the current producers are doing on the new series too. Quite entertaining and educational too.

my two year old is in love with this song from me singing it when we read the books, and is thoroughly unimpressed with the new version of the show which he has on dvd. so glad you posted this, it made us both smile!

I watched curious george all the time as a kid, my daughter loves the new one, I do too. As far as the new theme song goes, it's written and performed by the legendary Dr. John the night tripper

I remember this song there were shorts on TV from the book series they were on PBS back when my sisters and I were little and I think they were also on Family Channel too but I don't know for sure.

I remember watching this on CBC. Back then it would only air Tuesdays and Thursdays and the odd weekdays it would be Friendly Giant. My cousin(who came from Zambia) loved this show and would get pissed if Curious George wasn't on..

I'm happy to see that someone else remembers the old 'Curious George'. I wasn't around in the 80s but the 80s 'Curious George' did air on the Disney Channel back in 1998. These days, it seems like the new 'Curious George' makes this one seem forgotten. I wish they'd release more of the old 'Curious George' shorts on DVD and in collections of just the old 'Curious George' instead of including shorts based on other children's books.
