I like chakaflat, had a "moment" when this song played during the series. I immediately had to share it with my wife and children. I like SnoeLaCone, never liked any of the previous Stargates. To me, they were just too "sci-fi campy". This series however, had depth. it developed characters and storylines over a period of time rather than one episode. I deployed overseas OCT 2010. I just returned. I am saddend with the news of the cancellation. I hope (doubt) they will bring it back.

I have never watched any stargate and i tired this one.. its not great but for some reason i do dig it.. i think its over the top.. and not written well. but the actors made up for it.

the way they ended, the show is a cliffhanger... they can't just stop it. but sadly enough, they were auctioning off the props and contumes =/

@Mrzombiedrummer actually i think the way they ened it was perfect leaves it open to come back very easily in one of 2 ways eli fixes the pod or eli gets in the chair also they could get all new actorsa just use the ship as the go between say it had to shift their minds around to save the core crew save the ones it knows have the best chance of competeing the mission just wishing out loud thanks for you kindness

@Mrzombiedrummer They were shedding out 2 million an episode on SGU. The only way this series will get kick started again is when 1. MGM is out of its financial trouble and doing very well 2. The writers can produce material that will boost the ratings. I personally loved this show and it fast became one of my all time favourites, how ever there were alot of idiots who kept moaning about the style of the show, and less people kept tuning in every week which eventually killed it, for now!

while i was watching this episode, right before the song started, i started singing this song before the band started singing, when i relized who it was i jumped out of bed and screamed mumford & sons, i love the album.

on a sad note i'm truly sad this show got cancelled, stargate universe and being human is why i kept watching syfy. R.I.P SG-U

So check this out... I saw this scene and it hit me hard really hard like all the sad montage scenes in SGU. A little while later I was watching Jimmy Kimmel Live and they were the featured band... While they were playing I thought to myself "Wow these guys are really good and sound like a band they would put in SGU." so I have been listening to them since... And just now I said to myself "You know what! They were on there weren't they!!!" Well I was right. I Love how life works. : )

I was blown away when I saw this, mainly because i'm obsessed with the raw power of M&S ... I can't believe NME didn't name it the album of the year.... It truly made this entire episode. Much like when Flogging molly, did in the first series on ep09 .... Theres something about Folk music and sci-fi that go together in a truly magnificent manner.

Brilliant use of a beautiful piece of music. I think Stargate Universe often struggles to define itself as a unique series, but they always manage to find just the right song to bring it into focus. And the show is getting much better because of that.

@AvidffanFiction It would not have worked well with SG1 and SGA because they were about scifi and humour, SGU is more about human psychology, more dark, and even it's the context is scifi, it's more about reality. So it brings some emotion, and music helps these emotions.
