This is a great smallville scene, one of my favourites, because it's a rare example of subtlety in the development of relationships. Those few seconds when Lois ruffles Clark's hair, they share a look, and then the camera pans to Chloe who understands perfectly in that moment what is happening and how her chance with Clark has suffered another major blow.

It's beautifully done in those few moments, with the music, the looks, the camera choices. New Smallville just doesn't have this anymore :(
