  • Is N900 worth buying atm ? I am choosing between it and HTC HD2.I will be using my phone for multimedia and browsing.

  • @UltravioletSRB For multimedia and browsing? Not really; the N900 is more of a developer device. But it depends. Also I am not sure of the HD2's specs, but it probably has more ram (which would help when using the web) - but on the other hand, the N900 can do things like run desktop Firefox or VLC.

  • N900 = lags and bugs

  • @krysiak115 Well then. The N900 may not have the best hardware, but that is because it is a - hmm - 2 year old phone already! And there is little to no lag under Maemo or Android.

As for bugs: Not really. My Comet has more bugs than the N900, because there is an active community fixing them.

  • People go out and buy new devices so that they can get new or better OS, live in disposable world. One look at this device and it should become clear that moble devices can be versatile and not disposable. Just pick your OS, hit enter.

  • Hello I could get help do not know how I can install a multiboot N900 nitroidu the tropic and easy installation are complete beginner:)

  • @Mbsin1 I am not entirely sure what you are trying to ask. However, if you just want to install Nitdroid, google "nitdroid-installer 0.2.8-8" and click on the first link for instructions.

  • Is it worth getting n900 at this point I got nexus s

  • @pkilla617 It depends. What do you want to do with it?

  • went i write in my xterminal..sudo get-apt pv.and enter it come out a password..how?????help meee

  • Wow, But can N8 do the same? @Skycooler1

  • @01AssassinMr I actually don't know. I don't have an N8.

  • @01AssassinMr No. Only n900 can do this.

  • cool... so many choices but lets face it the best mobile os is maemo :P

  • except maemo..i also want to install another OS...so between android and meego which one will you recommand for n900.???

and thanks for posting such great video

  • @MultiRahul143 It depends on what you want to use it for. As of yet, you can use the phone, camera and GPS in MeeGo, while you cannot in NITDroid. On the other hand, there are many more applications available for Android than for MeeGo or Maemo. So it depends on what you want to do. This is why I installed both.

  • how big a microSD card do you need for meego? i bought a 1gb one ages ago to run maemo on an omnia, would that do?

  • @fms0001 you need a 2GB card at least.

  • This very video proves how idiotic was Nokia to not fully support this phone, which we can see has great potential ...And I'm afraid that the same thing will happen with N9! Such a great phone and it is only supported by the community....

  • I am actually watching it right now from n900. thanks!

  • i am so not going to sell my n900. will keep it till it dies!!!

  • @Hahnck750i then, buy another n900...

  • @aruxandeicosmin it just recently died on me... keeps on freezing.... need to find time to repair it T_T

  • very thanks for your video

  • meego looks fast. Can you make calls / txt messages in meego or kubuntu ?

  • @Shnigi You can make calls in Meego, it seems to work pretty well in that regard (I haven't tested SMS because my plan doesn't have any texting). You can place calls in Kubuntu, and sometimes the phone on the other end rings, but you can't hear anything.

Meego probably runs the best out of all the alternate OS's, and this is only off of a class 4 card. I have great hopes for it once the UI is a bit more reliable. NITDroid is also very fast, but it crashes often, which Meego doesn't.

  • This is the exact reason why I love my N900. Show me one phone that can do this, please..just one with actual proof.

Nice vid! Keep up the good work.

  • @erzhikkz Maybe the new N9... But i still love the N900! :D
