Haha, oh Ivy League schools. I will be going into this weird atmosphere next year (Dartmouth, not Harvard), and I cannot get over this song. So funny!
Can whoever posted this do something to clean up the spelling and capitalization in the title? I want to forward this song, which I love, but it's a little embarrassing. I have sent it to two people, both of whom commented something like "Harvard grads can't spell."
Thank you for posting this. I'm glad you like it. This was his first published song. It was l945 and he was 17 years old. He graduated from Harvard at 18. No one who did not know Harvard at the time can fully appreciate it. It so exactly captured the spirit of the place, which is one of the reasons it became such a big hit, at least among college students in the Ivy League.
Even though I was born and raised most of my youth in Oklahoma, I did not identify with those Oklahoma Sooners nor with the Oklahoma State Cowbos (my nickname for them). I was known as an anomaly in the fact that I know the Harvard fight songs like Fight Fiercely, as well as 10,000 Men of Harvard, Fair Harvard, etc.

Just remember that there is an NFL quarterback who is currently 3-0 (as of 9/27/11) who went to Harvard.

'i' before 'e' except after 'c'
or when pronounced as a
as in 'neighbor' and 'weigh'
'feircle' is spelled 'fiercely'

I think he is trying to imitate a Bostonian accent on this track.
