Just to let everybody know ra-tech makes almost a lot of aftermarket internal parts. Their all steel and will last ALOT LONGER than stock internal parts.

I'm guessing that "Magwell Protector" is to help you get the mags in the gun, it's a little tough to get a mag in an AK without one of those unless you turn the gun over.

AK fanatics like me can reload an AK without taking our eyes off the sights in under 2 secs without tilting the gun.i dont like the magwell at all because it slows you down should you have to reload while shooting left-handed. WE guns are for noobs anyways, so its no wonder they add a noobish reloading magwell. i'll stay classy with my normal AK's. M4s are overrated

That "paddle" as you call it is a guide to help you align the mag for insertion faster/more easily. Also LCT has had them, and put them on AEGs, for ages. Where the hell have you been?

Hi guys,

I seriously recommend you DO NOT buy the WE AKS-74U.

I have skirmished mine for the first time yesterday and 3 separate parts have broken in the trigger group.

They are:

Hammer (snapped in half)

Disconnecter (snapped in half)

Selector plate (the internal paddle bit)

Wait till they make the internals out of something other than monkey metal.

hey the selector switch is actually a krebs style. that meens the cut out on the top is actually a place to hold the bolt so when you select the firing mode it automaticaly loads

The mag well is a kreggs custom piece made for airsoft surgeon's custom pmc AK featured on redwolf's facebook page (Look through their photo albums they have an album dedicated to it), WE tech must have seen it and thought to replicate it.

However this may be a case of chicken or the egg, but I'm sure We Tech is cloning which I don't mind, I just want a kit to throw on my AK!!!

I laughed so hard.... Everything on the gun that doesn't necessarily need to be steel is, and the one true thing that does need to be steel isn't, it's kinda like they want people to believe they are making a solid gun, and then cutting corners just to make it cheaper for them to make. Odd, same thing happened with my SCAR... Cheap parts break easy, steel sears/trigger sets, and bolts make GBBRs last MUCH longer. Until WE does this they won't be worth it.

The "finger rest" on the selector and the the magwell thing are not a new idea in the "airsoft world", LCT was/do making the same parts and have doing it since 2009.

I own one gbb rifle qhich is GHK ak74n, and I own two gbb pistols which are the KWA cz75 and a KWC Makarov. I have freinds who also own GBB rifle and it has been nothing but headechs for them. From what I have seen the king arms m4 gbb and we-tech scars go down pretty quick while my ghk ak is still up and running.

@gloomypete WE's are not that great. but this one LOOKS much better than the GHK. The GHK is much more expensive and has less recoil. it probably uses more gas too. It still has a higher rof. But when I want a primary GBB, I don't mind much about the rate of fire. Since it usually has a 30 round magazine. Secondary gbbs are much,much different though. the KWA M11a1 is. godly

Rate of fire is very slow... The AK platform is actually good for gas efficiency thanks to large magazine and relatively light bolt.

But that full travel bolt must be killing the gas efficiency
