In a million years... they changed 50% of satsuki and mei little phrases to shrink the english words to make them fit on the lip sync, also to make understand to a northamerican person (in a superficial meaning) the mistical of the subjects that they are taking in comment, a good job but with a lot of mistakes, also when you hear a northamerican accent talking about spirits of the forest it sounds SO FAKE. This MASTER PIECE OF ART must be enjoyed only in their original japanese languaje!

This movie is popular with children, you know, who aren't old enough to read subtitles quickly enough [or read at all]. I prefer subtitles to dubbing, too, but I think the later Disney dub version did a decent job.

In my opinion this movie is for teenagers and adults (they have the needed age to understand it) if i have a kid, i will probably wait him to be at least nine or ten years to understand the movie: I would try anyway to make him see it at three, five and seven but for sure he would not pay the atention this movie deserves, so it will be the same for him a Barney, Hi5, Blue or Pocoyo show. Disney shrinks Miyasaki movies in kid shows so no adults will take it serius so Disney stays alive in america

I watched this when I was around the age of 5 or 6, and I didnt understand anything, but I recognised the music from this movie, and it moves me to tears that I had the chance to watch something so wonderful at such a young age - you always remember bits and pieces of your childhood, and this is what I remembered, so even though young children may not understand this, whedn they grow older and chance upton this (like me), they will be grateful for such a wonderful experience!! :D
