There is a legal term "res judicata" that means essentially, that court procedures have already decided the issue. I think the best argument for a belief in the existence of a supreme being that's referred to as "God" (ie, a supreme intelligence) is to note in a spirit of Res Judicata that, "Because there is existence, there must have been a creator; because there are physical laws, some intelligence must have set them into motion. Since the catalyst was outside of nature, it by definition is supernatural. It is and has always been self-evident to the human mind that a being with these qualities put the universe into existence. There is a legal term "res judicata" that means essentially, that court procedures have already decided the issue. I think the best argument for a belief in the existence of a supreme being that's referred to as "God" (ie, a supreme intelligence) is to note in a spirit of Res Judicata that, "Because there is existence, there must have been a creator; because there are physical laws, some intelligence must have set them into motion. In my dealings with average believers of both christianity and islam, I've found that the Muslims think that the knock out argument is that the Koran was repeated word for word, mouth to mouth through the centuries and that there's no possible way Chinese-whispers style storyline corruption could occur. By the same reasoning, you must prove the universe can come to exist on its own, without an outside, and therefore timeless, immaterial being. Since the catalyst was outside of nature, it by definition is supernatural. It is and has always been self-evident to the human mind that a being with these qualities put the universe into existence. It's impossible to think that he created everything because he would need space,time,continuem and reality. Im not imlying that he doesn't exist. Im implying that we dont have proof of existence of a "Greater Force" or "God". Many atheists studied the bible and found many flaws. The more in depth Humans like me wanted a more detailed answer. Not just "God" for every question. That's basically how atheism was created it was created by Religion. I don't pretend to know what the universe is (noone can) or how it came to be so call it what you will. Humans created and manifested the idea of "God" to explain everything. Which is really not the problem. It becomes a problem when the homosapian gives that idea a conciousness or face and then pretends to know what it wants. When in fact it was us all the time. Quite judgement call from you. The devil rebelled against god because he saw how stupid god's plan was to create us to fall into sin. Indeed it does seem like a game for god, and the devil seeing how morally crappy it is to do that rebelled. The devil got sent to hell, and the devil made man and woman realize the difference between bad/good by eating the forbidden fruit thus giving us the ability to choose and have free will. The devil in this sense was a liberator of humanity.
