@TheLiamom Just think about this. There are over 30,000 Combat arms soldiers that have made a career in the CF, they have had years of training and countless deployments. They are in amazing shape and still don't get accepted. They are looking for a certain character, they are not looking for kids that want to kill people, they are looking for mature adults who under the most stressful circumstances make clear concise decisions that reflect positively to the mission at hand.
can i join with asthma plz respond, because i dont got a phone and crap and you guys want me too call you and i cant and, any how im a A student, and my dad was in vietnam war and my grandpa was on juno beach and my brother was in smolia and i want too server and become a infantry solider can i become that with asthma
@TheLiamom what your grandpa, father, brother or even your dog did, does not apply to you, if you have asthma but are able to comply to the regulations and keep up with the daily shit, then go ahead, its what your able to do.. not what others have done,
@TheLiamom - As an A student you're surely to be resourceful. You can email forces.ca on their "contact us" page. Explain your medical concerns and they will address the issue properly. Good luck!
I did this program in my last semester of grade 12 for BMQ & SQ (now called BMQL), and am still in the reserves. It's the best way to end high school, even when you're going through the good times and the bad.
Tips: this is not like cadets, don't be "that guy", never lie (they may ask rhetorical questions to test if you're a liar) and never put your hand up for random questions like "who likes ice cream?" or "who likes fast cars".
@rabbitgti84 This. A conscription army would be a good idea regardless. Too many stupid people around now, they could use some proper discipline. I've half considered joining to forces, save the fact I'm not exactly in military shape xD
@SmileyLieutenantDan - contact the recruiting center online (forces.ca). Call or email them through their "contact us" page. They'll be able to help you get sorted out.
@Shoestrap4 yeah go to the recruiting office apply, you will have the option for Regs,Primary res, CIC, and CO-OP, you get accepted(maybe) then tell you co-op teacher.
@skateman1994 Yep. I was lead to believe that as well (I live in Burlington). Unfortunately, the Reserve Unit here in Burlington is not conducting the program for the 2011-2012 year. However, a Unit that IS doing it for the 2011-2012 year, is the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry unit (not in Burlington, in Hamilton). I'm pretty sure it is conducted throughout Canada, I know there's one in Burlington, Hamilton, and Niagara Falls. I'm the only one applying from my High School for next year lol..
No you can't join when your in grade 10 you need to complete grade 10 and be at least 16 as minimum requirements you can also do the coop program in the summer and still receive credits that's what I'm doing for the 41 brigade here in Edmonton
I couldn't agree more with what's said at 3:01. I think all kids should take this training in high school. It allows them to understand what serving in the military is all about, and whether or not they choose to pursue a military career the experience (and knowledge) will serve them well throughout the rest of their life.
A functional military is vital for any nations existence, and all citizens should understand what it entails (thus, it should be a mandatory course at high school).
@micheal4400 You must be 17 years of age (with parental/guardian consent) or older to join the Regular Forces. Those interested in the Reserves must be 16 years of age.
@CanadianArmyNews hey guys c'mon i keep apllying for do-op with the military but my schools keeps getting turned down for schools in peel region ontario.
@luppino24 Every applicant to the Canadian Forces must complete the Canadian Forces Aptitude Test (CFAT). This test is very important as it gives your military career counselor an indication of what occupations you may be best suited for. Contact your local recruiting centre for a copy of a practice test.
This generation of American students could really use this. Some to these hoods that show up in my National Gaurd unit really display how "soft," we have become.
If you take a program like this can you still go to school after the military with your credits from highschool with the funding from the military and still be set up for civilian life?
This is the reserve army which is part time, so most defiantly you can go to school after your graduate high school, I did. The credits from the Co Op, are only good for high school which you need to graduate.
As for funding in the reserves there are some scholarships you can receive.
Contact a recruiter if you really are interested in joining. You can work in a civilian job as well as the military.
how do you get in to JTF-2 cuz i would really want to do that
