This is a good, informative video, and the photo montage gives the narrative context. You did omit that the great dam conceived by Mao has caused an equal amount of flooding as it was intended to prevent, but in previously unaffected areas, and that a number of other dams have been planned and built in an effort to tackle the problem the original dam was meant to. Aside from that, though, I enjoyed listening :).
For more extensive reading, and for an insight into other aspects of China, I'd recommend the National Geographic's magazine 'China - Inside The Dragon'. It combines individual journalist's anecdotes with some beautiful photography that really helps to provide those without the expendable income required for journeying across China to understand and learn about such a tumultuous and fascinating country :)
