It seems the OCW movement cannot tolerate the same democratic norms they espouse.
I posted one comment on a pro-OCW video that purported to show police violence. I pointed out that the OCWs were resisting arrest and the police response was both non-violent and appropriate.
The owner of that channel blocked me from making any further comments on any of her videos.

If anyone, regardless of group, religion, nationality, or whatever, refuses to disburse when given an order to do so by a law enforcenment agency, they can be legally arrested and forced to disburse. Direct quote from the video. When people unlocked their arms it suddenly opened up a space and people who had been pressing forward trying to get through, then fell through. Hi. I can only say that as a commited Occupy Protestor, I am saddened at the statements here, which I have no doubt are genuine. The lady at the start of the video is a real lady, and should never have had to go through this.
I would hope that any protestors would help anyone injured, and certainly not to obstruct ambulances. I am living in Edinburgh Scotand, and I can assure thate we would protect anyone being attacked, and assist the police also to help stop violence.
I read other reports of this incident. The Occupy people created a human chain to block people as they were coming out. The people coming out were warned to hide their name tags to avoid a conflict. This women was walking towards the human chain. They let go of their hands and she fell through the opening. I don't think it's accurate to say she was pushed. She was over 70 and I find it totally deplorable that the occupy people have such an utter lack of respect for an older person.
The last man gave an accurate account of what I noticed while watching this on television. I saw several police officers standing down by the curb - and there were several security staff inside the building helping those inside, but I saw NO law enforcement officers attempting to control the MOB behavior!
What has happened to our country when law enforcement officers are told to stand aside as people behave UNLAWFULLY?????

The reason the cops back off is because it is DC and the house of Barry. DC is total liberal, hence they get their way unless there is full fledged violence. This small act was unforeseen until it happened. The cops should have broken up the crowd at the door when they formed giving them wooden shampoos but It didn't happen here.

She was walking through a crowd on stairs. She even says that there was a gap in the chain so she ran through it, but ended up falling all the way. That's not being pushed. I'm not saying they had a right to block people inside a building, but this seems to clearly be a normal fall from being in a tight crowd. It's presented with a malicious intent to get people to be against the movement. Wether you agree with the protest or not, with an open eye you can see it's just propaganda. Be real.

The video clearly shows in the related video (at 0:20-0:28) that the police officer was the cause of the woman falling down the stairs. He was crying, "let's go." You can see the woman in orange in front of him on top of the stairs and he quite clearly pushed people who pushed her down. I don't think the police officer did it on purpose. Nevertheless he was clearly the cause of the accident, not Occupy DC.
It is interesting to see the OWS supporters here claim that either no one is to blame or everyone is to blame. OWS needs to take responsibility for the violent actions regularly being taken by their protesters.

@rancho68 If you mean democrats, my experience is that very few of the Occupy protesters are in favor of current democratic politicians. Most of them are as frustrated with the democrats as they are with the republicans. This movement can't be put into boxes so easily - for better or for worse, it's really something unexpected and new. (I don't even think that participants themselves know quite what to make of it.)

Did you hear about the business owners at Zucotti park , a lady that owns sandwich shop had to pay 3,000$ to get her bathroom fixed after they ruined the sink and the rest of the bathroom using it for a washing room. If someone was criminally liable than they should be arrested. Agreed on the old black woman point, especially here in the DC area. There would have been riots in SE and/or NE DC after that.
The reason the cops back off is because it is DC and the house of Barry. DC is total liberal, hence they get their way unless there is full fledged violence. This small act was unforeseen until it happened. The cops should have broken up the crowd at the door when they formed giving them wooden shampoos but It didn't happen here.

She was walking through a crowd on stairs. She even says that there was a gap in the chain so she ran through it, but ended up falling all the way. That's not being pushed. I'm not saying they had a right to block people inside a building, but this seems to clearly be a normal fall from being in a tight crowd. The video clearly shows in the related video (at 0:20-0:28) that the police officer was the cause of the woman falling down the stairs. He was crying, "let's go." You can see the woman in orange in front of him on top of the stairs and he quite clearly pushed people who pushed her down. I don't think the police officer did it on purpose. Nevertheless he was clearly the cause of the accident, not Occupy DC.

@rober1236jua I heard her say that there was a human chain of protesters preventing people from leaving; when the crowd leaving made contact with the human chain, moving forward, the chain trying to hold them back, one of the protesters let go allowing the woman to spill forward. Is that an accident? Oops, sorry mam! Sorry that you accidentally fell forward when our human chain broke and you guys wanting to leave, and us not letting you leave, you just fell forward... it was an accident!!!

Sorry that there were elderly people at the demonstration, but given American's tradition of free speech there will be demonstrations that are nearly elderly people, and sometimes some minor injuries might take place by accident.
Call me when an Occupy related person blows up a Federal Building full of children.

According to Shenck vs. United States (1919), your concept of free speech in this situation "serves no conceivable useful purpose and is extremely and imminently dangerous," as proven by someone getting injured.

@jscarter79 I saw the video, it was protest at a location, not unlike hundreds of tea party events at town halls. These things are now happening each and every day. If someone was criminally liable than they should be arrested. But from what I saw this was clearly an accident, and again it is not like anyone was shot or a Federal Building was blown up, compared to the political violence the US has seen I think this is pretty minor

A legal protest is is a gathering of people speaking their mind with a permit, there should be NO accidents or incidentals if they were Legally protesting. Once physical contact is brought into play. IE: the retarded circle bonding of people preventing others to peacefully leave, the LAW should have worn their Balls and started breaking it up BEFORE innocent people became victims.
