Certainly doesn't do this camera justice. I've been seeing a lot of hate towards the Red Cam, from certain people on youtube and other forums, and the reason is due to videos like this, when people take this camera out and use it without craft or skill, and people bash the camera. With the right knowledge and craft, this camera does spectacular things.

Why are the slow-motion sequences unsharp in HD? Red One can capture 120 fps in 2k resolution, right?

they are sharper in the original files but the 2K of RED is really less than 1080p because of how a Bayer Pattern Sensor works. more like 80% of 2K which is like 1600 pixels but more than HD on you tube. Part of the problem is that I was tired and sucked at pulling focus. Actually that's almost all of the problem.

Yeah the difference is not much and depends on so many other factors that it really comes down to the project and how much time and mastered techniques are put into it.

@fourth1000 true, but red handles better in darker areas has more functions prior to slowmotion, camera options, and does not compress your footage) and ofcourse can film in 2K wich is cinema standard. obviously this is downconverted footage because youtube doesnt support 2K. therefore is does look a bit the same when looking at sharpness/crispness.

HV30 looks good but there are some important things missing like latitude and not having to use an adapter

lol it`s all about the codec you use.. and software and color correcting... you could get the same results with an hv30 or 20.. or 50...

yeah, that´s what I thought, you ain´t got a clue whatsoever. Do you know what latitude, is? F stops? the type of glass mounted on a scarlet compare to that joke of a lens on aHV30, we are not talking color correctioon, codecs or anything.
