@ImperialistRunningDo Are you a UK resident? If so, ask your MP, and you have to give about six months' notice; if not it's unfortunately not possible.
via G.A.S. London is lobbying to bring the World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon) to their town in 2014. As part of the plan, this video shows the city invaded by aliens, terrorized by monsters, and generally falling victim to any and all science fiction villains. How many of these films do you recognize?
This is so absolutely fantastic — please, *please* don't take it down! It makes me want to save up my extremely rare dollars for 2014 (the one and only other time I was in Britain was for the '79 worldcon in Brighton, and I'd love to get back across the Atlantic for another worldcon.)
Mike Glyer says you're going to take this down soon. Please don't -- speaking from St. Louis and having visited London, this is perfectly marvelous...and the use of the Clash is truly inspired.

Does anyone know what the animated bit (from around 2:00 to 2:14) is from? It's fantastic looking but I haven't a clue what it's from.
Nice video. Always love The Clash.

Do you have a list of what was used in the clip? I think I recognize 95% of it and wouldn't mind checking out the remainder.
