I always felt they tried to push Billy Gunn as the next coming of HBK. Even the theme music has a loose resemblance; listen to the chorus lyric (I'm an Ass Man! = I'm just a Sexy Boy). Guess lightning doesn't strike twice.

Also, it's not much of a push when the night after he won KOTR, the Acolytes kicked his ass over a tag belt, and then he loses a tag match against, yet again, DX guys at the next PPV. He should have stayed far away from anything having to do with anyone involved with DX. Then he was Triple H and Chyna's lackey before feuding with the TOP GUY in the WWF??? Best thing for Gunn would have been to stay face and fedu with Jarrett over the IC title.

Yes, everyone says how Billy Gunn "failed" as a KOTR. But how can you push a guy as a heel, when the heel focus at that time was for Undertaker and HHH, especially when HH was going into the main event for the first time? Gunn ALWAYS got a better reaction as a face, look at all the videos prior to his heel turn in 99 and then in his return in late 2000 early 01, he got a great pop. After Gunn won the KOTR, he should have been the top midcard face and stopped there. Owen stayed in the midcard.

Now Mr. Ass is (or used to be) a nobody with his friend "road dogg" in TNA as Kip James. What a stupid name. Their tag team was VKM (Voodoo Kin Mafia). Kurt Angle should really come back now to WWE. We got Khali, Big Show, Batista, Undertaker, Edge, Kane, HBK, Jericho and Triple H.  He could still have fun and make it interesting. im a huge billy gunn fan but when i look back yes, yes he was - nobody was into this KOTR at all it wasnt important - billy hadnt got himself over enough to compete with austin and the rock on this card
