@kayeocho hey just go to your local market and grab a bunch of picks, all different textures/sizes/thickness' etc, spend just a few bucks and try them all out...it's all preference, so you just need to find the right one for you

Just got an Ultra and I am a little overwhelmed so far but I can tell it is an amazing rig. Only scratched the surface. Love the J.S. Tone you have going here. Any idea how your patch is setup? Amp model, Drive, etc. I am just looking for a good starting point for some IE covers. I still need a midi interface to actually download some syx files.

Iced Earth is about accuracy and stamina. Start slow!! Play the song through real slow, then slowly build it up, or your arm will lock up. Start on easier songs then move on.

Low gain on the amp, put a booster pedal infront to tighten it up, use a LPF to tighten the bottom end, and play perfectly :)

The 'metal' amp with a V30 cab, super OD in front and a notch filter at around 5.5khz into a HP/LP PEQ at the end, finished with a tiny SM room verb.
