  • Soooo True! ;o)

  • yeah right as is it was that empty!

  • Nice time transition -- Grant puts his jacket on, as the cold-weather sequence kicks in and takes it off as the song ends, and a year has passed, and it's summer again. Sure beats those old close-ups of calendar pages flying off into the breeze.

  • today saturday, and I choose this movie for my weekend! (dont remember how many times I watch this movie)!!!!

  • many people think that this is a used as a passing of time but we English knows it just a typical march day.XD

  • sung by Bill Withers, I think.

  • Great scene, one of the best ever songs, overall movie would be much higher on list if it was anyone but Julia in it (Sandra may only be a worse fit)

  • il tempo passa, i mesi si susseguono, ed io continuo a pensarti, ancke se so ke le ns vite adesso hanno percorsi differenti, qsto mi fa soffrire, ma la sofferenza è inevitabile quando finisce 1 storia d'amore cosi importante. ieri nn riuscivo a dormire ti avrei voluta al mio fianco mentre piangevo x te, e me la prendevo con me stesso xchè nn ho capito quanto importate eri tu x me, avrei dovuto seguire il cuore, avrei dovuto seguire l'amore che provavo x te !

  • best movie in the world and best scene in the world

  • who sings this song?

Bella pelicula

  • This is my favourite song of all times!

  • loveee from greece!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3

  • Great movie, Great Song and just Great !

  • One of the best scenes in any movie and so, so clever how Hugh Grant goes through the best part of a year whilst walking around Notting Hill. You get the sad split of his sister and her boyfriend juxtaposed against the pregnant woman at the start holding her baby at the end. And Hugh? Still alone.

  • I'm not familiar with this film and a friend alerted me to this scene. Wow!

  • one of my favorite scenes! at the start you could see couples so sweet and a pregnant woman. and towards the end of the scene, you could see the couple fighting while the pregnant woman has apparently given birth and she was carrying her son. so nice! he passed through fall, autumn, spring and summer while on the road.

  • one of my fave scenes!

  • my favorite part!

  • The song is from Bill Withers.

    A classic..

  • always feel soooo sad and feel like crying when watching this part n listening to this song

  • one of the best movie scenes ever. No doubt.

  • The right movie at right time with the right song!

    Right upload!!

  • I like specially of this part. Not only because of the music, but it's a very interesting way to show the time passing by. It's a very complicated thing to shoot the passages of time, and it demands a very creative view of the director. This one is one of the best I've ever seen....

  • It is a nice movie! Especially this song I cannot forget!

  • who sang this version?

it doesnt sound like the lighthouse family

and not too much like bill withers - but i'm not sure

    D:

  • @aggzicle

i wanted to ask the same question...does anyone know?

  • my second favourite scene

-my first being the part where spike says "you daft prick"

paha, he cracks me up <3

  • 4 people missed the like button.. darn

  • BEst romance scene ever!!

  • While personally I consider "Notting Hill" as a movie just slightly above average, I have to concur that this scene is pure genius.

  • whenever i hear this song it reminds me of this movie!

    i love notting hill :) :)

  • he needed 1 year to come to his store xD long way to walk ... hehe

    (its a joke! -.-)

  • Who can suggest other films that depict clever ways of showing the passage of time?

  • @skramps there's a nother pretty good montage in The Devil Wears Prada. :)

  • Best scene in the movie, in my opinion. And the music works brilliantly.

  • love this scene/montage

  • Absolutely fantastic film! Love it so much! Especially this scene, epic.

  • Me encanta esta película ...me encanta esta escena!!! I love Hugh!!!!!!

  • I think this is my favorite piece of film ever! Simply amazing.

  • I don't think I've ever seen a better scene showing the passing of time.

  • I love this nice song and the scenes of the movie very much!

  • Wake Up! Justice for the USS Liberty.

  • i actually love him! what a man!xxx

  • ♥

  • Family Guy should do a cut way gag

    "Where did you go?"

    "I DON'T KNOW!!!"

  • good film, but totally miss represented the real notting hill 100%..

  • This sounds closer to the one used for the Dante's Inferno commercial than the Bill Withers original.

  • @meeverz101 It's Van Morrison ;)

  • @anne1102

On the soundtrack it's the lighthouse family, tres confusing...

All in all, our market places look the way different from the English ones. I need to go to the UK to compare

  • I love this scene....

  • the song is catchy

  • Wonderful.

  • Fantastic!

  • i love this scene <3

  • This scene it's one of the best that I ever seen..

  • love this scene : )

  • I like the idea of the pregnant lady in the first season then the baby in her arms :3

I also like the idea of it changing seasons :D

  • The BEST romantic comedy ever made

  • i L0VE Notting Hill <3

  • it's like his acid trip:Pgreat

  • Ain't no sunshine now you are gone my golden dream...wish we could walk together in Notting Hill...love you kid...

  • I love this movie and this scene

  • Who sings this song?

  • Bill Withers

  • Weet iemand wie dit zingt?

Does anyone know who's singing this?

  • Six months of everything happening around him and nothing happening with him perfectly expressed in a minute and forty seconds of film. Great cinema! Seamless too; it's hard to tell where the cuts are. One is with the man in the blue jacket, one has to be at the white van though I don't know how they pulled that off... Does it even make sense trying to figure it out? I should probably just leave it as being BRILLIANT!!!

  • I found all of the cuts. :D

  • I always thought that this was an ingenious way to portray the passing of time and seasons. Usually in movies, there's a cut to the next scene with a caption that says, "6 months later" or something like that. Good for these writers!!

  • I know the feeling hugh :(

  • it is INDEED the best part of the film!!!

  • Best part of the movie :)

  • Beautiful song, beautiful movie.

  • I love this film! It's my favourite film of all, and I love the small details, that makes this movie so incredible welldone! :D <3

  • it's weird hugh grant or the director didn't won an oscar for this film

  • perfection

  • Bill kicks butt with this song! he absolutely ROCKKSSS

  • Yeah, much better way to say how much time has passed than the famous 'a year later'. :)

  • well seeing as 61,000 of you have watched this without leaving a sniff of a comment, I thought I'd be the first to do so. Any of you out there who have ever suffered a wounded heart ( a fair majority I suppose) can certainly relate to this wonderful classic by Bill Withers, used here to such great effect in one of my favourite films

  • A magnificently done scene. Great piece of a great movie. Thank you for uploading!

  • wonderful...truly wonderful

  • Man I tell you this movie is just bliss for me.

I love the narrated part which Hugh introduces us to Notting Hill at the beginning, with that music in the back ground.

They should summon all the makers of this film and do an extended version of it, including all of the parts trimmed out, that ended up on the cutting room floor.

    SOMEONE TELL THEM,PLEASE.

  • This is my favorite part of the movie and Roger Michell. the Director, Michael Coulter, Dir. Phot., and John King and his crew (Art Directors) did a fabulous job of showing how long they were apart by the change in the seasons. Very bright spot of the movie.

  • Simply an amazing piece of directing.

    Amazing music, direction, cinematography, acting.

    So emotive (:

  • best part of the film

  • yes, great scene, really originaly, I am angered when I see that someone is stealing this idea, like the T-mobile commercial etc.

  • best movie scene EVA

  • Love this film and what great music too!

The Seasonal Walk is one of the greatest scenes in any film - Brilliant!

Also love the song When You Say Nothing At All, the park bench scene.

  • who is singing that version of ain't no sunshine ?

  • That's Bill Withers. On the soundtrack of Notting Hill there's also a version (theme song of the movie) by the Lighthouse Family. The song has been covered by many, many others. See Wikipedia for more...

  • agreed Interalia... very sensational

  • Love the way it shows seasons passing and music couldn't be more suitable..!

    So touching! : )
