Nice time transition -- Grant puts his jacket on, as the cold-weather sequence kicks in and takes it off as the song ends, and a year has passed, and it's summer again. Sure beats those old close-ups of calendar pages flying off into the breeze.
il tempo passa, i mesi si susseguono, ed io continuo a pensarti, ancke se so ke le ns vite adesso hanno percorsi differenti, qsto mi fa soffrire, ma la sofferenza è inevitabile quando finisce 1 storia d'amore cosi importante. ieri nn riuscivo a dormire ti avrei voluta al mio fianco mentre piangevo x te, e me la prendevo con me stesso xchè nn ho capito quanto importate eri tu x me, avrei dovuto seguire il cuore, avrei dovuto seguire l'amore che provavo x te !
One of the best scenes in any movie and so, so clever how Hugh Grant goes through the best part of a year whilst walking around Notting Hill. You get the sad split of his sister and her boyfriend juxtaposed against the pregnant woman at the start holding her baby at the end. And Hugh? Still alone.
one of my favorite scenes! at the start you could see couples so sweet and a pregnant woman. and towards the end of the scene, you could see the couple fighting while the pregnant woman has apparently given birth and she was carrying her son. so nice! he passed through fall, autumn, spring and summer while on the road.
I like specially of this part. Not only because of the music, but it's a very interesting way to show the time passing by. It's a very complicated thing to shoot the passages of time, and it demands a very creative view of the director. This one is one of the best I've ever seen....
Six months of everything happening around him and nothing happening with him perfectly expressed in a minute and forty seconds of film. Great cinema! Seamless too; it's hard to tell where the cuts are. One is with the man in the blue jacket, one has to be at the white van though I don't know how they pulled that off... Does it even make sense trying to figure it out? I should probably just leave it as being BRILLIANT!!!
I always thought that this was an ingenious way to portray the passing of time and seasons. Usually in movies, there's a cut to the next scene with a caption that says, "6 months later" or something like that. Good for these writers!!
well seeing as 61,000 of you have watched this without leaving a sniff of a comment, I thought I'd be the first to do so. Any of you out there who have ever suffered a wounded heart ( a fair majority I suppose) can certainly relate to this wonderful classic by Bill Withers, used here to such great effect in one of my favourite films
