it' a rather fake horse, he's trying something new leave him to it, it's probably his firs time on a horse (or FAKE one), i would like to see someone fall off that but don't think any ones gunna fall off it so no hat needed, horse riding is only cruel when animal hating, irisponsible people are riding which is NEVER so please do us all a favourr and GET A LIFEEE , don't bother commening if you're gunna be mean to him and go start learning something about horses :)

Riding isn't a cruel sport. It can be made cruel by irresponsible and uneducated people, and by the improper use of riding equipment and aids, but when these things are used properly, and people handle, ride, and train their horses properly, it is not inhumane in any aspect.

why exactly is it important if he mounted correctly? this is clearly for fun. its not a real horse. it doesn't spook, buck, bolt, and if, for some odd reason, he was going to fall, i'm pretty sure the person controlling this thing will turn it off. i really don't get why people are feeling the need to tell him what he's doing wrong. this isn't real. get over it. its a machine. and this is clearly for enjoyment

Unfortunately, the ground truly is the roughest part of riding, on both impact from the horse and impact from your butt!

yeah i agree. the ground makes all the difference. if you ride on that nike footing (like in the dressage ring at the facility i ride at) its amazing, compared to some places on the cross country course. My horse hates the cross country footing but loves the dressage footing and you can tell the difference just by looking at him

It has a nice saddle and it's pretty good for exercises at home when you don't have a real horse. I think that's perfect for starting riders and for those who after fall are afraid to canter(or to ride fast).

Actually mechanical horses are used no matter what discipline you major in wnether a racer, a show jumper or dressage, professionals use them to correct and adjust their position and help eliminate any bad habits you pick up through years of riding. And in response to supr4 you dont get on a horse and hit it in 'normal' every day riding, a whip is used to strengthen other aids if a horse is refusing to respond. Who cares hes having fun, its a MACHINE it has no feelings.

1) This looks like a one and only or first time he has ever been on a horse (or fake horse) he doesn't need to know how to mount properly if he is never going to do it on a real horse and hurt its spine...=S Also, I think he did just fine at mounting!

1. I have bee riding for over 10 years and i can safely say that he mounted properly.

2. you never sit at the front of the saddle. 1st off because it unbalances you and it could possibly hurt the horse because your weight is directly on top of their withers and the saddle could pinch.

3. he wasn't posing. that is the correct posture to use when riding.

4. I never do and I ride a 3 yr old filly that I broke myself. never have worn a helmet with her and I never will.
