  • Help me Tom Cruise! LOL! XD

  • Glass case! LOL!!! I never really thought about it. This is a wonderful video, great commentary.

  • Cootchy Cootchy Coo! !ooC ychtooC yhctooC

    That is so FUNNY! XD

  • Doh... I never realized about the one side is blocked part of the rotating poles... Its so obvious now...

  • Gootchy gootchy goo, Oogishnoogyshnoog.

  • Cont'd on the second one: These ones they used a special chamber the Maintainer's used when checking Ages of questionable hospitality. The first one, the kid in the suit came back half crumpled/melting and the cooling vents switched on. And these suits were build STURDY. He just was unlucky enough to Link into a SUPERNOVA.

Third one is them finding the dead D'ni from the plague.

Fourth is the first Age where one of the people were killed by a predator that shouldn't have developed in that Age.

  • The second Tapestry depicts when they started visiting the Ages and looking for survivors. The large centerpice at the top was the first Age they found with survivors, IIRC.

First one on the bottom is them beginning to check the ages (It was something like 5 groups of 2 with a leader searching in different directions.

Second is one of something like 14 Ages Atrius had separated that were either in bad condition (burned) or had no Maintainer's Seal (or the seal was damaged)

  • Second one shows them building temprorary shelter (many of the places had collapsed walls and such making then not very habitable)

Third one is some of them busy dredging up sunk boats and repairing them for use (D'ni has a natural lightsource being some algae in the waters- and there's a good bit of water down there)

Fourth one is Atrius reading over books trying to sort which ones are likeliest to have survivors and are usable (I believe the final tally was about 47 books)

  • I can help shed some light on the tapestries. Both tapestries cover events that occured in the 3rd novel. In the Age called Averone, Atrius was doing some experiments there and the people there allowed him, as long as he would leave peacefully and take everything when done. As he was leaving, he was going to give the gift of books to the children (who had grown fond of Atrius) The one different guy on the leftish side was an Elder who said they would help Atrius search for D'ni. (Left)

  • "atrus didn't follow us for some reason"

he was too busy with the whole house on fire business to come

  • lmao: help me jesus, help me jewish god, help me tom cruise!

  • Hey Shady, did you know There's MYST for the Playstation 2?

  • I thought you might find it interesting to weeead.

  • im srry that tom cruise bit made me laugh so much that im still laughing.

  • "ahhh im on fire help me jesus help me jewish god ,HELP TOM CRUISE!!!" Ive laughed my head off when you said that i still cant stop laughing.XD

  • WHY IS EVERY AGE ALWAYS AN ISLAND

  • at 1:11 the cave floor is not magma it's actually a lake that has day and night cycles

during the "day" the algae is timed to become fluorescent and create light for the cave. The algae it's self was introduced to the cavern by the D'ni

  • YAY BRAD DOURIF...wait a sec..did he just say brad's name wrong? *crushed* ah what the hell, he's still funny and awesomesauce!

    (kidding around)

  • Ah, the war of Terahnee. Those guys should consider careers as novelists, because that was a great read. Not the journal; the account of the attempt to rebuild D'ni. It's part of the Myst Reader, which you can buy.

Many Disco Sticks shall be seen, oh yes.

  • @shadyparadox ahh ok thanks :)

  • how can you tell when somebody came in behind him at 3:36 because, i can never tell ?

  • @BmdXxx You can hear a door open as you zoom in.

  • In the books, the D'ni are killed with a poison distributed through the big fans that circulate air, and the poison falls on the ground and everything as a yellow dust, so that explains the yellow garbage.

  • 4:36

AAAAAAAH! first ever action in MYST!!!

  • 05:00 "Help me, Jesus! Help me, Jewish god!"

That would be the wrong time for me to ask *them* for help. Ha ha!

  • If you link into a linking book, and then someone erases everything in it, does the age become a white abyss?

  • @MalStar1000:

I don't think that's possible. Descriptive and Linking Books are written in special ink.

  • @MalStar1000 linking book, its linked like a portal not like it contains the entirety of the universe

  • no thats the weeding at the end of the book.

  • The art and design in this game is beautiful. I'm always blown away.

I think Atrus didn't follow us because he wanted to get his wife and daughter out of his burning house first. We're big enough to take care of ourselves, what with the saving the world twice before.

  • Umm? That fire Marble thing? It didn't burn the creepy lady hunch?

  • Damn it stop playing with the child woman lol.

  • The tapestries actually show the events from the Book of D'ni novel. So the guys you called D'ni survivers are actually the inhabitants of the age Averone. It shows how he breached the cavern, the death of one expedition member by a predatory creature. The tapestry with the big ship shows the first meeting with Tamon and his colony of real D'ni survivors.

  • Is this going to be another leisure play through like the first myst? i really enjoyed that LP very much! and how come you dident do riven before exile?

  • Ah kootchy kootchy koo!... a shnoochy shnoochy shnoo <3

  • Atrus didn't follow us for some reason?

How about his house being on fire?

  • Saavedro's the guy who played Wormtongue, good actor.

  • Aw, so many tasty nuggets in here, I wish I could comment on them all. I might just be high on life (ugh), but I was giggling through this whole video. I see you've got your third installment up, so I'll go watch that and then proceed to squirm in anticipation of part 4. Nice work (again)! :)

  • lol i never noticed the Catherine and Yeesha thing being in reverse before...or that you could look at the bottom of the tapestries!?! what's wrong with me?! geez....

    "and.. earning merit badges" XD

i cracked up on the glass case thing and the Tom Cruise thing XD

"i guess that tends to happen when Brad Dourif randomly shows up out of nowhere and steals your vacation home with his bare hands.." LOL

i love your commentary! can't wait for number 3!

  • Ahhhh Iim on fire help me Tom Cruise! xD

  • Don't know if you know this but this game was also released for the PS2 and is basically the only reason why I keep my PS2 around.

  • where ur from? ur accent is just hilarious, it makes everything sound more funny lol.

  • I love your sequel to Myst. BRILLIANT!

  • Those tapestries are lovely!

  • Damn it, Catherine, you're going to give Yeesha brain damage if you shake her too much!

  • @QUANTUMJOKER Hahaha. Judging by the later games, I'd say she did.

  • [SPOILER ALERT for BoD] The bottom of #2 shows the sick slaves that Terahnee wrote in from other ages to build their empire. There was a devastating plague that killed many of the slaves and ended up killing many of the royal Terahnese as well. Not sure what the 'garbage spill' is though.

  • #2 is almost certainly the Averonese, several D'ni survivors, Catherine and Atrus being greeted in Terahnee. I won't spoil the book, but that place looks nice, but it actually sucks.

  • I read BoD pretty recently. #1 is Atrus looking out at D'ni after breaking out of K'veer. Those are the Averonese, who helped him do this, and even helped with the process of finding survivors. Then on the bottom is I think (from l to r ) A: Atrus adressing the Averonese to help him in his escape. B: I think this is native ife on Averone, actually. The book said they lived in tents, primarily. C: Atrus is probably reading the damaged linking books to the worlds that may contain D'ni survivors.

  • A request: Can you turn on the subtitles?

  • The tapestries, Atrus' journal, and other little bits of story really tie in with the novel The Book of D'ni. How exactly, I can't remember. But I'm offficialy inspired to reread it now in order to get the full let's play experience!

  • I think some of the bottom pictures show him helping the relyimah on Terahnee

  • im on fire... help me tom cruise LOL

  • @TheFlyinCow How is Tom Cruise gonna help?!

    LOL XD

  • lol

  • Hey, don't knock the glass case! Scrooge McDuck put his number one dime on a pillow under some glass. It wasn't even locked like the book is! And yet the Beagle Boys and Magica DeSpell never stole it. Wait, actually they did steal it! All the time! Scrooge just always managed to get it back. ;-)

  • @Dilandau3000 The fact that DuckTales made it across to Holland, and that I remember enough about it to get that reference, makes me want to either laugh or cry. For the record, I laughed...at first.

  • @Dilandau3000

funny thing that... he actually did have "unbreakable" glass one time soooo... maybe atrus shoulda called him up and asked for some, i guess he couldn't afford it

  • @iSparkettei Well, according to Cyan's official timeline, Myst 3 is set in about 1815, and according to Don Rosa's timeline, Scrooge McDuck wasn't born until 1881, and wouldn't even earn his first dime until 10 years later (see "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck" by Don Rosa). :P

  • @Dilandau3000

damn! well, i figured atrus could write one of his plothol- i mean, linking books and somehow traverse time itself to meet him

  • @iSparkettei You'll have to ask Yeesha for that one, I expect. :)

  • Awesome! You are so good at LPs.
