you will be sooooooooooo mad at yourself when the joints in your toes get severed off the bone... or worse. trust me, its happened to many idiots at my ballet school.
@Alinochka008 Well .... When an Man and A woman Love each other very much , they hug in a special way :) ............... Also BTW you WILL destroy your feet doing that especially on carpet trust me someone in my class broke their big toes doing it about 8 months ago and she says it's agony to go en pointe soooooo yeah STOP WHILE YOU'RE FEET AREN'T COMPLETELY RUINED !!!
U THINK U HAVE THE WORST TYPE OF FOOT? I have a tapered second toe, so I only have one toe touching the box. I can't even stay up for an entire dance! And they're reaaally wide but narrow only at the heel. Oh, and i've never had nail polish on my toes that lasts more than a pointe-free class! If I ever wear flip flops, it looks disgusting for all the popped blisters and callouses, but that's what a ballerina's foot should look like. I can't stand....
I'm not trying to be mean, but this can really cause damage to your feet. It may not hurt right now, but it can have a long-term effect on your feet!! Please please please! Don't do it! It's a really good way to break your toes and ankles too. Even though It doesn't hurt now, it will later.
I saw your bare feet Pointe, ms. understood ballerina. And I heard and read your self-dissuading words on your dancing abilities.
Look, it's ballet. Despite popular belief, you don't need especially long, wide feet with abnormally high arches, though they certainly help. Just 'cause your feet are flat and your toes are short doesn't mean you can't have a career in ballet. Dammit, stop cutting yourself down. Believe me, this is worth seeing. You've got.... something.
I have the exact same type of toes you have and it doesn't make my arch suck. It is just that you have a lower arch. And your arch isn't even that bad it is actually really good! ;)
Lol, I do that all the time and I'm not in ballet, apparently it's a big thing, I was doing it in class one day because I had worn ballet flats and I take them off all the time and people were like, "Holy Jesus!" haha (:
And that's coming from MY dance teacher, who is a 28 year dancer, has been in 4 professional companies, AND can certify people to become instructors. I think she wins.
Um, saffcat101, that's a really stupid way to test if you're ready for pointe. That will kill your feet and possibly ruin any chance of ever dancing again.
haha i had a problem with my feet like they wud point barely but then one day it cracked but tht led to uther problems but i am now an advanced ballerina juss luck i gess (:
@jrod1195 well jeez. iv'e heard form one of my teachers who was a 10 year ballerina that you need to be able to do that in order to get en point. dont be so harsh.
The second toe being longer than the first toe is called Morton's Short Toe. Your weight is actually redistributed from most of it being on your first toe to your second. Which means more weight is on that second toe than what should be. You could get Morton's Neuroma which is pain under the 3rd and 4th toe from a nerve being compressed. I have it. You should be careful.
well to be honest, this really isnt a warm up or anything for pointe, as some seem to think so, you dont use the same muscles when you are up on pointe. This isnt beneficial in any way.
I used to hate dancing without my shoes on. My instructor would have me stay on pointe for a certain amount of time god that hurt! But with the shoes on it really didn't hurt as bad compared to bare toes. Ugh.. I somewhat miss ballet!
oo i can do that been dancing for 12 years but i started doing that my first day of ballet class when i was 4 started dancing in my regular ballet slippers teacher told my mom when i turn 9 i would be put on pointe and i was. so now i like to do that in school with my sneakers on and at home with no shoes on
Finally someone with my feet!!! LOL. When I do pointe in my flats at school, I get 1 of 2 reactions...
1) EWWWW
2) Awesome!
I used to do ballet but the instructors were rude. I like it when teachers are strict but when they start the insults, I'm done. I was about to go on pointe but I quit so I'd have to retake the class.
My feet can do that too!~!! LOL my mom could always do it, and I could and I have to admit it's soooo fun and it's hilarious when people tryXD but yeah it is probably bad for my feet.. its still fun tho!!
i can do this too.... everybody in my class yells at me cause i do it ALL the time and there all like"wow... that's cool, but that's really gross and probably unhealthy" :)
@PrettyPro1997 its bad for your feet.. and can easily break ur toes but its fun.. and a good warm up, i do it during school sometimes when im really bored at play rehearsal or something and everyone tries and fails.. its really funny to watch! lol
Can you do another video, exactly like this, but face the soles of your feet towards the camera to see how your toes look from the other angle? Thanks!
