  • The music at the beginning of this song, if you analyze it, starts off so "primitive" sounding. It goes,"1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,­1,2,3,4," But brilliant because right away you start dancing to it! Every time I hear that intro I get into it full force!

  • The music of the 80's (IMHO) was the most creative, musical, intense, deep and just plain fun. It was the era of MTV when they ACTUALLY played music videos, where new artists were showcased on MTV and made into instant stars. As far as the "music" (and I use that term very loosely)of today, it is nothing but rehashed music from the 80's where today's performers don't have an original bone in their body and think nothing of copying the true and original artists of yesteryear. How sad. 80's rock.

  • Love me some Missing Persons, but Lady Gaga has an extremely talented voice and has gone further than this group ever imagined. I love them both equally respectfully of talent and capabilities.

    Warren Cuccurullo of Missing Persons/Duran Duran went on in the year 2000 to become a gay pornstar. 

  • The rhythm and synchopation of her voice with the music is like punk meets rap. Amazing songs like this made the "80"s SO special.

  • @LedWilde They do, Listen to Raveonette's song "Bang" and some of their other songs. I think what u wish is that this sound was the commercial/mainstream sound on the radio. Theres so many current Electronic/dance bands that have recycled this sound in this decade

  • @ScienceProjek Well, that's a good song but doesn't sound like this. Sounds more like Blondie which I do like too. I want something that has synths like in this song or in 1981-1984 Kim Wilde songs. But thank you for bringing attention to that song because I like that too.

  • Much like with Sandra Dee to Debbie Gibson, Dale's style is rehashed by image consultants that figure "Hey, that was so long ago... who it this generation would recognize it?". Hence Gaga's look. The big difference: Dale was a ground-breaker. A pioneer. Gaga's is little more than a rehash... Plus she sounds so different live compared to the "Engineered for MP3" mixing result found on her recordings. At-least Dale sounds the same recorded or live.

  • @bigleagues I've seen it and yes she has a nice voice but her public persona and image are derivative. When she first came out her fan-base claimed her fashion and music was groundbreaking and innovating when in reality neither are. I think that is why some people don't like her.

  • 80's had some great stuff, but the 80's were overrated to me. Much better than 00's though. To me, 90's beats both. Sorry. The Rock bands of the 90's were good and don't think 80's Hair Metal was cool at all. They were all cookie cutters. The 90's weren't super poppy like the 80's and 00's were either. However early 80's New Wave, like this band here, was definitely the highlight of the 80's and definitely one of the best styles of music ever! When 80's had good music, it was the best.

Keep in mind I never said it was a bad decade. There's a lot of music I love from that decade. 70's probably had the best music over all. As far as Rock at least. Don't like it, too bad.

Late 80's it was hit or miss to me. But you think about it, every decade has it's ups and downs with music & other fashions. The 00's was mostly downside with music I think. lol A couple bands were okay though. My favorite singer is from the 80's though. Kim Wilde.

  • @n8tureboy Music died by the early '90s when alternative and rap/hip hop became mainstream. LedWilde is either on dope or has his head in the sand. Post 1990 music pretty much all sounds alike. It's pathetic, down right pathetic. All the remakes, terrible and dull lyics and lack of melody. The '80s music has far better lyrics and medody than the '90s. Music has not changed the past two decades. Need a new revolution to bring back the good sound of music again. Someone has to come out and do it.

    Scorpio. YES! I agree in toto! Today's "music" is a pathetic attempt at just making money, because they darned sure aren't making art! Everything about the 80's was better, the styles, the girls, the less narcissistic attitude of people.

    I wish someone would become innovative and do some good music, but I'm skeptical as to the talent, or lack thereof. These groups had serious talent. I don't see it anymore; at least not in mainstream music.

I hope the former members of Missing Persons read these posts;I just wanted to say I miss them and the New Wave music of the 80's. A great time to be a teenager.

  • Children, and I mean all you 20 somethings born in the late 80's who think Lady Gaga is the best, she and her look would not have been possible if it weren't for this group's lead singer, Dale Bozzio. She's the real thing. Since then, its been all imitations.

  • Excellent video made by real musicians with real instruments. No samples or copying of any kind, just great sounds made by players who have the gift. Kudos to Mr. Bozzio for the danceable drum track . ( Note to the Corporate heads: it is a futile effort to improve on the human heartbeat, so drop the freekin' drum machine in the toilet and hire a living drummer to play the track. May I suggest hiring Mr. Bozzio for your next album??)
