Sorry saw the world map in the background and had to say this "you rock the world!!" Which is very true :) I'm a piper (play bagpipes) and wish that I could take fiddle sounds great fiddle on!!!!
Excellent job; it's a great song and it's obvious that you really put a lot of energy into it. Here's hoping your career with playing the violin/fiddle will be a long and satisfying one for you)))
@NCC17O1Q There are a lot of songs that are played in both Scottish and Irish fiddling traditions, since they are closely related and very similar. This must be one of those songs. For example, I first heard this song from the American fiddler Bonnie Rideout who arranges her music mostly from Scottish songs, but also uses some Irish songs and occasionally writes her own music in the Celtic style.
@wafflingviolinist Thanks. I'm not really filled in much on Irish tradition, being a Scot myself. But I have herd a Scottish group play this song before. I assumed it was Scottish. But guess it's both then.
lovely stuff, i was curious why the jumping, it was so awesome, like you jump, hit the floor, make a noise and then start to sing, is that tradition? what's the deal with that i think it's awesoemo
@c0mpuipf haha thank you. I actually learned it from watching Máiréad Nesbitt. She's an amazing violinist and I really aspire to be as fantastic as she is! Check her out, she's a performer in the group Celtic Woman and has played for Lord of the Dance and Feet of Flames.
@Violinfanatic, I don't actually have the violin sheet music. I learned it from my tin whistle song book. However, I can send you the notes in a message if you'd like.

How could two people possibly dislike this video? They must not be on the same page.

Pretty good, your second finger on the E string, (G) must be low,
I had to play this at an Eisteddfod,
Except we played it differently,
i LOVE your way, with the slow bit at the start ! :D
