  • thumbs up if you wish NJT comet 1 would still exist.

thumbs up also if you miss comet 1

  • Is that an AEM-7 in the back/front?

  • @RedShadow1917, yes, SEPTA has 7 AEM-7's (2301-2307) and 1 ALP-44 (2308)

  • The horn on that cab car sounds like an RDC! Only the bass note was working.

  • To me they look better on septa for some reason but why didnt septa just uy the whole fleet of comets and overhaul them would have saved money and would be on the tracks the silverliners v's are still not here

  • Because SEPTA only has 8 electric locomotives to push and pull them. Regardless the push/pulls, the Budds, and the Louies are to ALL be replaced by the SL-V's. When all is said and done only GE's and Rotems will be running.

  • @nyshortline SEPTA should buy some HHP-8s and additional Comet IAs and IBs from NJT to add on to their push pull sets.

  • @Sniper12890 An HHP-8 would be nice and so would be the comets. The HHP-8 would be harder to picture though.

  • Notice That The AEM-7 & ALP-44 Cars Septa Removed The 2 Flashing Strobe Lights On Top of Them, A Safety Feature Why Would Thay Deface Tthose while Amtrak & NJT still have them?

  • ugh how come septa only got these ones wut about the ones wit the center subway style door, how come septa didnt buy that from them 2, was Nj Transit being greedy or something since those cars look better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????????????????????

  • @vze428s7 SEPTA has no use for them-the majority of platforms are still low-level.

  • I saw this trainset parked at at SEPTA's Fern Rock location, and thought it was curious that the Comet cars had a new "paint" job. Though they just slapped the SEPTA logo over the NJT stripes, I actually like it BETTER than the pattern on SEPTA's other Comets!! I say it was smart to save money by re-marking them so minimally.

  • That is a MEGA HORN.

  • what did Septa do to them!!!!!!!!

  • Bought them. Lol

  • yeah

  • The Comet's horn sounds sick, as in it need some medicine sick. Love the Comets though.

  • Great horn. I like riding on the push pull train during the rush hour period since those trains provide increase capacity and great express runs. Those Comet I will be replaced as soon as the Silverliner V arrives. The other equipments of the push pull fleet (Comets II, III, AEM-7, ALP-44) will remain in Septa's fleet for at least next 20 years or so before its time to replace them with new generation push pull fleet.

  • SEPTA ordering new push pull rolling stock is something I can only hope for

  • It was on the northeast corridor was the extra trains were run on going to philly

  • This is simply a training train to train engineers how to run the comet cars. Septa did not run any extras for the flower show on the R3.

  • Was this a revenue run? If so, was it because of the Flower Show? I didn't think there were any extra Flower Show trains on the R3. Also, about what time did this run? I was in the DC area riding the Metro much of Friday, so I wouldn't have seen it no matter what time it ran.

  • the locomotive was a Amtrak old?

  • No, SEPTA bought them new in the '80s

  • What did they need it for?

  • damn, I miss them already, at least they weren't scraped

  • good thing man good thing

  • What kind of horn is that?

  • S3-L

  • I noticed septa had got these cars around june of last year when they started parking them at Fern Rock. The sticker job is funny though.
