redtwosix, I actually just re-posted this for someone on the CMP Forum who had lost it. I don't know if it's in the Armorer's Manual, I'd have to dig it out and look. I have used this method before and it's pretty much a standard test for checking for op rod binding. I hope it helps you if you ever have an issue with your M1.
