That's a laurel column, it's a traditional thing in Pietra Ligure. Every year before Christmas the mayor burns laurel to see if the year is going to be good. If the flame starts up straight it's good. The day of the event it was windy. The flame started straight than because of the wind went in other directions. Anyway you are welcome :)
Now that's what I call "Lighting the Tree" !!! LOL. A little good, a little bad like most years--all in all, not too bad of a year coming up! (At least, for Liguria!) Thanks for sharing!
