I don't know much about cardiac surgery, but I had a question about cardioversion...isn't this used usually when the heart is beating too fast? To the lay person (this one, at least), this wasn't evident by looking at the heart. Can you address why the heart didn't look like it was beating very rapidly?
It looked like the atria were beating and the ventricles weren't. Is this an issue with conductance at the AV node?
I'm a premed student currently, and have been looking to go into cardiovascular surgery. After watching all of your videos pediatric cardiovascular surgery is my new goal. Thanks for the inspiration and the amazing surgeries.
Thanks for the kind thoughts. We really have a great team. This child's parents deserve credit for allowing us to share their child's experience with others, and we thank them.
Hi Redmond, You're a blessing! I'm so happy you're showing your swift fearless skill, thoughtful teaching and deep caring compassion that saves your patient babies' lives from sudden death. I love hearing you joyfully say this baby has a good heart that's beating so hard even with all you're doing to it! Bravo! Aloha, Maureen
