@ThEpicest it's easy. you have to define a depth threshold and an area in which everything that's detected (within the threshold) is considered a "touch point". google "kinect touch"
hmm (: I like most things done with Kinect on PC. But I like to say there is no sense to make Touchscreen out of TV and Kinect, because you could do much better things with it. (:
This is great work, congrats on what you have acheived so far. I am super interested in using a Kinect to control Home Media Center interfaces such as Boxee or MediaPortal on the PC. Looks like the work you are doing here will translate really well into those areas. It would be amazing if you could create a mapping schema that will allow you to map keystrokes to gestures??
Great work. This reminds me of the terrific videos by Johnny Lee where he uses a projector and the Wii to create a smartboard. I recommend searching YouTube.
Instead of a TV, you could also use a projector and put this image on any wall, floor, ceiling, table, etc... or even curved surfaces for that matter! Irregular shapes or angles though might require a laser projector like the ~$450 ShowWX+ so that the image is always in focus.
the links are dead in your other video, can you please re-post them, and let me know exactly how you did this?

correction on the title. It's a NO touch screen
a2zhandi 1 year ago
@a2zhandi correct, but has a very close principle to a touch screen - manipulating the interface with detected physical movements
