  • this was the joint

  • I use to have a crush on her back then.

  • This video looks like a Benetton. Not that that is a bad thing. I wish there were more multi-ethnic advertisements.

  • @Bellinzona1000 why?

  • I love the song and video but is just me or does this video look like a segment from Square One TV?

  • Wow, that choreography was awful, especially for the post-Thriller 80's. It was like watching a work-out video. Great voice on that little angel, though. Love the song. Now I gotta go work out.

  • Love this song, bring back memories.. If I could turn back time.. Favorite part starts at 3:20 til it ends..Awwwww take my breath awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay oooooooooooo baaaaabaaay.

  • Power 106 Los Angeles....Back in the Days!!!

  • The cabbage patch and the head bob classic 1980's soul dances.

  • She was so cute and only 12 years old!

  • I'm 17 years old now and I Love Old School Music. She's better than Justin Bieber. *Sighs* I wish I was 17 back in the 80s. :)

  • CANT FORGET THIS TOP HIT LOVE TRACIE SPENCER

  • this song is good no matter what ppl say its catchy love it

  • For those asking about her career after this, type her name in Wikipedia.

  • What a great song! She seemed to have a great future, what happened to her? I just purchased this song for my Ipod - it brings back great memories and will be great for working out to!!! (She said, dancing around the room......)

  • Traci was truly talented, had a great voice..but this was one of worst videos I've ever seen in the 80s..Traci was a rising star...this video did not help her.

  • ahhhhhh.......7th Grade!

  • I was 14 in 1988..... memories!!

  • She was a cute girl who turned in a very pretty woman. I was so in love her from the first moment I was the video. The reached # 38 on the Billboard pop charts and # 11 on the Billboard r&b charts.

  • OMG, I would play the single cassette on repeat! Can you believe we had single cassettes? Loved Tracie!

  • ya those were da days

  • These where the days when Tracie and all the other girls had class, not these disgusting girls they put out there for the past years like BET,MTV,VH1.All should be put out of business for promoting contamination.

  • It's no ones fault. You seem to not understand that TIMES CHANGE. Don't condem people for the way they convey their art. It's how they carry themselves all around that matters.

Save yourselffrom havin' a one-track mind.

  • i was 2 when dis shyt came out it was da jam back n da day

  • Wow..This brings me back. The jam...

  • Love this song. Reminds me of high school. I love all the old school dances.

She was and is still very pretty. I had the same hair.lol

  • what agorgeous mouth on that girl, no braces ruined her

  • Aw man, this is a real old school dance jam -- and Tracie wasn't wearing no damn weave either LOL

Where is she (& Stacie Latisaw) now, I wonder?

  • Amen to that havingfun1968 what happened to the good old days when video's did nothing but sell the song!! ANd had a good image at the same time.

  • yes indeed. these days they would've had her half naked and grinding the floor.

  • These were the days!!! I have no idea what happened???

  • These were the good ole' days... What the F*** happened?

  • dangummit talk about a trip down memory lane thanks for sharing

  • Ask Lil Wayne, he f___ed the whole world up today. This is the real jam, much better dances than these stupid "chicken Noodle soup" dances/ jerkin dances nowadays. Tracie is waaaayyyyyyyyy better than Beyonce/ Rihanna. I was only 8 when this came out. I miss 1988, one of my favorite years.

  • You can't f**k with BET in the 80s....especially when this one came on!! True classic dance music; thanks again for posting!!!

  • TL, you went back on this one. Good post emiamericarecords

  • F__K BET TODAY PERIOD with that stupid retarded ass show "The Game"

  • That's right Q BET is a disgusting, satanic brainwashing channel contaminating children and youth.

  • oh my goodness, i loved when this came on BET when i was little!!

thank you so much for sharing this..

  • 1976 is correct

  • I always thought that she was born in 75...I had the biggest crush on her back in the day

  • Brandy 1977, Aaliyah 79, Tracie 78

  • Now you're WAY off!!!! You must be young or something. Brandy was born in February 11, 1979 not 1977. I'm two years older than Brandy and Aaliyah who was also born in 1979, and Tracie is a year or two years older than me so that means that Tracie was either born in 1975 or 1976.

  • I was 11 in 1988 when this came out. Video Soul used to featured this on the top 20.

  • lol..i was 13...brings back memories!

  • I was 8 and in love with Tracie here.Where you at sexy?Love that skirt she has on here. Can't believe it's been 21 years since this video.

  • This is a true BET Video Soul classic. I remember everybody was doing the same dances at the club at that time. Thanks for posting this forgotten gem!!

  • Love this song and video! I still have this on VHS tape from BET Video Soul Top 20 Countdown, LOL! 1988 was a good year for music

  • SO 80's! I LOVE IT! I am in second grade again, with a sideway's ponytail dancing around in my pink bedroom again! LOL

  • I had the ill crush on her back in the dayz. I wasn't even old enough to leave my block!!lol

  • Man I love you Youtube and it's millions of users...where else can I rediscover lost gems from my childhood? You go Tracie...and the Youtube community!

    We out!!!!!

  • serious... the 5 min. choreography is tight... LOL!!!!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!! the video is cute...

i love the 5 min. choreography

  • "Do me quickly and I will be in recovery?" That's pretty intense!!

  • aint that a dope lyric.....>? LOL

  • I had this on cassette!

Hey isn't that the Milli Vanilli dance?! :P

  • Interesting she was born around the time of Brandy, Monica and Aaliyah but came out years before they did.

  • Actually, Tracie is 3 years older than Brandy and Aaliyah and 4 years older than Monica. She was born in 1976. Brandy and Aaliyah was born in 1979 and Monica was born in 1980.

  • Tracie was born in 78, the internet has it wrong. I know a family member of her's really well.

  • No, she was NOT born in no 1978. She was born in 1976, and I knew this BEFORE the internet started. I read her interviews, and plus I used to watch Video LP on BET back in the day, and they will have stories about different black artists, and I saw one about Tracie Spencer, and it said that she was born July 12, 1976. She's a year older than me.

  • You're telling me depending on when this video was filmed Tracie was 9 or 10 years old? LOL!!! No way. She was born the same year as me in 1976.

  • I used to love this song... I miss the eighties well I miss the music, movies, and tv shows

  • I miss the eighties too. Especially the music.

  • Sirius Totally 80's...always on baby.

  • I always loved playing this record. Full of punch and energy! It always made my dance floor come alive whenever I played it!

    God Bless You Tracy!

  • A highly underrated talent.

  • Man, Going Back 20 Years She Was The Dime That All Boys In That 12-14 Wanted As Their Main Girl. And Today She's Dope, Still Amazing To Hear This And Realize She Was Only 12 At The Time Singing With A Perfect Pitch And Control. She Never Hit Hit Major Big, But She Had Some Real Talent And Still Does To This Day..

  • amazing, get me some of that fatty

  • man, .. got to love the 80's .. but hey.. here we are, years later and we are stuck with miley cyrus.. have we progressed? i think not...

  • omg soo cute i love it

  • Where is she now? Anybody know?

  • you better google her and find out.

  • I LOVE this song. music is not how it used to be
